Thanks for the good wishes last night! Annal.ise Jacq.ueline was born at 3:15am Weighing 9lb 9oz and 19inches long My story: Around 6:30 last night I was sitting on the couch when I coughed and felt a gush. I monitored it for the next 30 minutes or so to ensure it wasn’t me wetting my pants. Tidied up after supper. Made calls to our dog sitter and my sister (to watch G) Left town at 7:15. Contractions were about 7 min apart on the drive to the city (an hour and a half away). But nothing really unmanageable. At hospital, confirmed that water has broken. Hooked up to the machine to monitor heart rate and contractions and debated whether they would keep me. I was still only 2 cm at this point but paper thin. 11:15 - 3 cm still waiting on a room. 11:45- arrived in room - still 3-4 cm went to labour in the shower. Given gas after 30 min, to cope a bit better. At 12:45 checked and was still 4 cm. I opted for an epi at this point and labored in the shower until 1:00 while they set things up for an epidural. Checked again and was 7-8 cm. Epidural placed at 1:30 and labored that way until 3:00. Told me not to push until dr was in the room, as baby’s head was already coming down. 2 pushes and she was out @ 3:15am. Minimal tearing so only a couple stitches. I was worried about hemorrhaging after having that problem last delivery but everything went well. Since she was so big they’re monitoring her blood sugar. She did latch well for her first feeding but now I’m trying to wake her up to eat again.   |

Congratulations. I hope she passes her sugar monitoring. We had to do that too. She beat Lane out by 1oz weight wise. I thought for sure my kid would be the heaviest. He has her beat in the height department though.

Thanks so much ladies. I was terrified of the epi until I actually got it and I’m so glad I did. I was exhausted and in such pain for Gs birth that I don’t remember a lot of it. This time I actually got to watch what was happening and see Hs reaction, as well as him cutting the cord was amazing.
