cagoldi I don’t even understand that post. Why are they ecstatic?!? probably because they got it as a child. Now they are going to have a pox party to spread the "love".

One party down, one to go. This one is at a bounce house place in the mall. Cadence is a snotty mess, but it's allergies. I gave her her allergy medicine before the first party and when she blows her nose it's all clear. I just wish these clouds and rain would clear out so she and I aren't dealing with all the mold. My allergy pills work for me most of the time.
For those that have done allergy testing on their kids, did you get a referral from your pedi or go to an allergist on your own?

I give my kid every possible vaccine available, chicken pox isn’t in the National vaccine program over here...

trtlcrzy that makes sense. I hadn’t thought of that klong11 my pedi gave me recommendations but I didn’t specifically need a referral. But I had brought it up at his appt. I think you can just call any allergist and make an appt (obviously unless your insurance requires referrals)

When I was younger I vaugly remember people trying to infect their kids young. They had them when i was a kid. But my parents didn't think it was a good idea so I never attended one. I still got them as a kid though. My dad had to stay away because he had chicken pox twice already and the doctor didn't know if he would get it again.

Sent the kid off to in laws then went shopping in town for like 3hrs. I got discouraged a few times, especially in gap, because some clothes are not meant for curves. But I did find some fantastic looking clothes. I grabbed cheesecake for this evening and took a little nap. Now I need to decide if in going to go out for dinner and drinks or just chill at home

Dropped the kids off at the in-laws with the plan to go car shopping and out for dinner, but I had terrible stomach cramps and pain so we came home so I could put on comfy pants and lay down. Now we are watching Pitch Perfect 3. Thinking about maybe takeout.

I just got to meet SweetPotato and her DH so my trip is already looking up! She is as great as she seems online. Of course I didn't think to get photographic evidence... Now DH is once again failing to nap while I wait for my toe nails to dry. I have a feeling we'll be in bed long before midnight, but fortunately we have 2 more nights!

I remember when I was around 5 my older brother had it and my mom made me go sleep in his bed with him so I’d get it too

When I was younger I vaugly remember people trying to infect their kids young. We didn't have parties, per se, but my brother and his best friend got them at the same time and we were certainly encouraged to play together. This was the early 80s though, so I give our parents a pass.

For me personally, I have 3 sisters so it was guaranteed it would spread to all of us if one got it (which happened, and actually I think my little sister got it twice).

I got chicken pox and my mom pretty much rubbed my brothers on me so that we’d all get it over with. But like joelies said at the time there was no vaccine or anything so it was “better” to get it as a kid

Since there was no vaccine and chicken pox is deadly if you get it when your older I don't feel any parent from our generation doing anything wrong with passing it around. Today with the vaccine it's just wrong.

My sister got chicken pox and we tried to prevent me from getting it because I was in a wedding coming up. I did get it, of course, and remember missing my dance recital. I was supposed to dance to "My Boyfriend's Back" and it was the night of the OJ Simpson car chase.

What would N13 do. LO wants mac n cheese tonight he had it last night. If I give it to him he will eat it with veggies so it's not completely unhealthy but I don't want him to think he will always get it.
