DD just turned 3. We haven't pushed PT'ing but I'm getting really frustrated. She will tell me when she pees (while she's doing it) and then asks to make pee-pee on the potty. The problem is that its too late and she's already let everything out in her diaper. I've explained to her a million times that she needs to tell me that she wants to sit on the potty before she goes in her diaper, not after. It doesn't seem to be clicking. Rewards/bribes do not work either. Is she just not ready? Am I missing something? Thanks.

Have you tried to do naked time or pants/diaper free time as a way to kick off potty training? We found that when DS physically saw the pee coming out of him, he was better able to understand what was happening and we would immediately move him to the potty - even if it meant leaving a trailing stream across the room. I think seeing what is going on helps them isolate/predict the urge to go. While naked/bottomless, DS quickly realized when was about to go and even if he started, he would actually stop himself and proceed to the potty.
Have you tried reading the Oh Crap! Potty Training book by Jamie Glowacki? We used her method with DS (26 months) last month and it has worked really well for us. It might not be for everyone, but I really liked the fact that her method did not rely on treats/candy and her comments really built my confidence and commitment to sticking with potty training. Good luck!
