So we still haven't tried the pushing an object with a pen thing, but LO has a toy set of golf clubs and she can tap the little ball with the club... which I feel like is even harder... lol. We have also made progress with coloring but she really wants to eat the crayons... the eating with a spoon/fork has been less successful.
@sheliathetank did you ever try it?

My kid is obsessed with her Duplos. She likes to stack the single bricks like 20 high, then take them apart, then put them back together. Recently she's really into coloring.

We have not as I keep forgetting. She is also more interested with drawing with pens then anything else. I'm pretty sure if I directed her to push an object with it she would look at me like o have six heads. Do you use pouches? K has gotten really good at putting th cap back on. It uses a lot of fine motor and hand eye coordination. Start with an empty pouch or try it right before bath time.

So some things we were told by occupational therapists were to get lacing beads (Melissa and Doug makes a couple sets), to get pipe cleaners/chenille stems and get your kid to poke them in the holes in a colander, and to practice stacking blocks. We also bought this stack it peg game after a therapist brought it out for R to demonstrate fine motor skills on and he loved it: Stack It Peg Game With Board Occupational Therapy Autism Fine Motor Skills by Fun Express www.amazon.com/dp/B005JZV6JK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_vbLuzb88CEXMX
