Pregnancy question. When I walk all of a sudden I get like a really sharp pain/cramp in my lower stomach. It makes me stop and take a sharp breath, but then it's gone. I've had some other mild lower stomach cramping as well at other times. Is this Braxton hicks contractions? Other times I do notice my stomach tightening and getting hard which I think is Braxton hicks? I get that too. I think it might be because the muscles are all stretched and separated down there, that certain movements can twist and pinch. At least that's what what my PT told me last time around when I was having really bad ligament pain and separation in my pelvis. I am getting lots of Braxton Hicks too, and they are exactly as you described. Practice for the big day, I suppose. ok good to know. Joys of pregnancy I suppose:)

I just figured it was my ligaments stretching, didn't feel like Braxton Hicks to me. And I'm laughing because I have my own pregnancy questions. I feel like such a newb some days. I feel like such a newb sometimes too! You'd think we'd just be old pros by now!

I am just crossing fingers and toes that I do not have another one that goes 2 weeks overdue. I might die.

Okay so I guess I need anecdotes.
P dropped last week. She's really low now. I don't recall either of the boys being so low so early (30 weeks tomorrow). And I'm having TONS of pressure in my pelvis and pain when I stand up.
I know this is all normal but does anyone recall having it in very early third tri and making it to their due date?
I know these things can't be predicted it just feels different and I really need her to wait until May.

That sounds so miserable but I think I'd be glad this time around only because I know my room addition won't be fine in time.

This baby has actually been low the whole pregnancy and I've had a ton of pressure in my privates. Like I stand up and my vagina hurts so bad. It feels bruised and like someone just keeps kicking it. I had this with L as well and had her in a scheduled c-section at 39 weeks. My sister also just told me her dr said you feel so much more each pregnancy you have since everything is already stretched/thinned out. So maybe that's part of it too.

cagoldi I don't have experience with baby dropping early, but do you feel like your pelvic joints may have become unstable? Do you have any history with SPD or PGP? Or...I hate to say this, is it all possible that the pressure is due to hemorrhoids or vulvar variscosities? Yeah, nobody talks about those.

I was wondering if it just gets worse with each subsequent pregnancy. Makes sense.

I do feel like, swollen, but it's more just feeling like she is way down there. I don't think I'm describing this well. I mean, I'm not ruling out varicose veins though. I can see how that would be a possibility I hadn't considered.

ETA plus I’m sorry, it hurts and it sucks. I had really bad hip/pelvic/sciatic pains very early in pregnancy (both times) for me sitting on an exercise ball really helped with the pain. Maybe this could work?

The local news site posted a live chat between the doctors that operated on her and Maddie, one of the survivors of the Florida shooting. Some jack ass in the comments actually said "what is she not aloud to smile?" THE GIRL JUST HAD 3 SURGERIES FOR MULTIPLE GUNSHOTS TO HER BODY!

Kind of felt like round ligament pain but in a different spot.

My friend said the same thing when she was pregnant with her 3rd. Her OB told her, you carry the first one normally, the 2nd low, and the third between your knees Sounds accurate!

melaniesue Sending get-well wishes to your household! I'm so ready for cold/flu season to be done. cagoldi I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. When my dad's mom passed almost two years ago, she also declined chemo, etc. Just didn't make sense at that point. They were able to keep her fairly comfortable and at home with a nurse, and I think that was best. Hugs to you and your family. lahdeedah B is playing tee-ball this spring too, but they don't start til early April here. I think it's going to be super cute! We forgot TWD was on last night and got caught up in The Americans again. I read something on Yahoo about it so I know sort of what happens; the last season or so has left me cold but I feel like I have too much invested to stop watching now--we are not as die-hard as we once were, though (clearly). TBH I couldn't have even told you what happened the last episode before the break, I think I fell asleep?

Girl, schedule that induction. Don’t do that to yourself. Plus if I remember correctly, wasn’t Theo pretty big? I will if I have to, but I hate being induced. I react poorly to the pitocin and epidural, it slows everything down and it's just an overall awful experience for me. With Theo I actually thought I was close to active labor the whole time, so we were waiting to for things to get moving...but then it was the holidays, the hospital was full, etc. I am hoping this one is another Evie, and I have the baby 20 minutes after arriving at the hospital. Well, maybe not that quick. ETA: Yes, Theo was a 10 pounder.

peachsmama the way people are coming after those kids is appalling. The irony will not be lost that the same people criticizing these kids for exercising their First Amendment rights are the ones who vociferously defend the First Amendment rights of White Supremacists.

They gave me 2 half doses of oral cytotec and that started my contractions. Then broke my water after I had the 2 doses of required antibiotics for being GBS+. Either way, I hope this baby comes on it’s own, on it’s due date.

Just start the ABX right when you get there even if your water already broke?

They get as much in as they can until baby arrives. I think if baby is born either before you get antibiotics or don’t get both doses then baby is monitored after it’s born.
