I always say DS was born a big brother. It’s just his personality. I also have siblings who I am close with, so I was super excited to give him siblings too and I don’t really ever remember feeling sad about that either.

DS is a super social kid who doesn’t go to daycare, so I think he’s going to really enjoy having a little brother (fingers crossed).

Quiet morning at our house (well, as quiet as 3 under the age of 5 gets haha).
I’ve been working on thank yous/birth announcements, and updating frames since picking up our pictures yesterday.
Planning on going for a family walk this afternoon to head out to the post office and just spend some time outside together!

DS2 is a super “smiley” baby. Of course what this actually means is that he’s constantly farting. But it’s cute for a few seconds at least.

My brother visited today and brought me lunch.

It was my favorite burrito- it had rice, chicken, sweet potato purée, bacon and cheese. Yum!!

I know we've pm-ed a bit about this so I know you totally get it. I'm glad to hear I should feel better about it once shes evicted. I briefly said something about it to mh last night and that's what caused my meltdown. I'm thinking about before she gets here trying to write everything down just to get it out of my system and I can feel more at peace. Know what I mean?

I feel both ways. DD will be so great with a sister and yet I'm mourning that she won't get all my attention. It'll be a big adjustment for everyone. At the same time I am totally stressing about how to manage two for the same reason you mention above. For me, with this being unplanned for us, I mourn losing the only child thing a bit more, vs I feel like if we had planned to try so soon I might not be inclined to feel that way?

My sister was a huge help, I definitely couldn't have managed without her. But DD1 stayed in such a good mood so we did Target and Wegmans while we were out. It was nice.

I sooooo can't wait to have DD2 on the outside. So. Sore.

My bffs sons 1st bday party is tomorrow! Even at 40+3 I will totally be there. Since we didn't know if I would go over I didn't make anything (cookies etc) so I feel pretty awful. I usually do when she has parties. I'll have to call her later and see if I can bring anything.

Had my 6 week check up today. The good news is that all is well. The bad news is that DH is going to expect sex again. 😜 And I’m not even super sleep deprived so I can’t use that as an excuse. Lol.

ajetter I just had my 6 week check up today too! My doctor was away so it got pushed back a week and a bit and the first thing MH said was "sooo we have to wait another week?!" Men are maniacs 🤷🏼‍♀️

We're currently in snowmageddon here which is fun. And our city just goes into panic mode and everything becomes a total mess so I decided to head straight to the grocery store and liquor store early to stock up. I have also shovelled mmm driveway and front walk up twice so I am earning my beers tonight fo sho

Also last night M slept a 6 hour stretch!! It was all amazing I woke up in such a good mood not even my sassy toddler could bring me down with his morning shenanigans lol

She is doing fine. We are in a fb group for our Aug 15 kiddos and I mainly "see" her there.

My inlaws are starting to drive me nuts. The weather is bad so we are all just cooped up inside. They want to see him so we haven't been sending DS1 to daycare so he is stir crazy as well. Last night mil made dinner and I was still hungry after I ate. So I made a milkshake for dessert but really because I was hungry and needed the calories.

Last night was our best yet! Slept from midnight to almost 4 then from 5:30ish to 9, then we both napped from 10 to almost 1. I got up to get in the shower and she was sound asleep, but of course 2 minutes into the shower I could hear her cry. I guess I can't have it all! I let her cry while I finished my shower then fed her again and she was awake and alert for about 2 hours. I'm pretty sure she tracked my finger with her eyes for the first time today too.

DH should be home shortly and I think we are going to go out for dinner for the first time with her. Our goal is to eat early to hopefully avoid crowds (and germs) and then go to Costco.

The in laws will be here later this evening, I'm going to need to work on my patience. MIL says she will fix us a big lunch tomorrow and beyond that I have no expectations of real help from them. I hope I'm wrong, but it isn't about us, it is about them spending time with Faith especially since I suspect they are a bit jealous that my parents have visited us more.

Guys I'm losing it. It may already be lost. All I wanted was a 20 minute nap today while the kids napped. DS hasn't been sleeping well during the day but the last week or so he's had one good 2-3 hour nap that just happens to correspond to DD's. So I got her in her crib, got DS nursed, swaddled and in his bassinet. This was at 12. He had been awake with just tiny catnaps (5-10 min) since 10AM. He would not go to sleep. I tried everything. DD pooped and needed her diaper changed, then she took her socks off and threw them out of the crib. Then she screamed that she needed her socks. OMG I spent 2 hours trying to get them to sleep so that I could sleep until I finally gave up. So instead of having a 20 minute nap and 2 hours to do housework I got nothing done and didn't get a nap. Then DD was a pill because no nap and I yelled at her.

I finally put him in the wrap and he ptfo. Now he's awake though. I'm starting to wonder if he's got some kind of reflux or something. But he doesn't really spit up mostly he cries when he needs to fart.

Hi!! I’m just doing a crappy job of keeping up. We’re doing great! N was 6 weeks yesterday he’s sleeping great, breastfeeding is going really well. Big brother is in love!

I just had mine yesterday, and my dr asked about what our plans are for birth control. I said “um. We just don’t have sex anymore” 😂 She has 3 kids too so did the understanding laugh with me.

I had yet another check up today (8w pp). My tear still hasn't healed all the way so she used some silver nitrate on it and I'm still on pelvic rest until March 12 DH was a but disappointed because our condoms arrived in the mail today. I'm thrilled because I have no sex drive.

Conn.or Alex.ander was born this morning at 8:22. He weighed in at 7 lbs 2 oz, 21.5". DH guessed his weight right on so I'll never hear the end of that one. I had the same CRNA that I did back in 2013 with DD. He's seriously the best and made the whole experience even better. I think this c-section was even better than my first. The pain isn't terrible and neither is the bleeding. DS is nursing well and is sleeping hard after his first bath. DD loves having a little brother and was such a good helper for his first bath. I'll probably be in a lot more pain tomorrow and DS will turn into a crying machine, but tonight everything is great.
