So this week my midwife and I talked about when to call her office (which has staffing 24/7 for questions/help). Since this is baby #3, she wants me to call when contractions are 7 minutes apart lasting a minute, or when I get that real "oh shit" feeling. Really. That's how she phrased it. GUYS I'M SCARED. I was told 10 min apart. I’ve had a 7 hour, 2.5 hours and 1:53 min labor in that order.... IM HEADED FOR A CAR BABY YALL. Dude, are you sure that baby isn’t out already?

yianna my coworker had a car baby and he’s super smart and all around awesome. And she doesn’t seem traumatized so don’t worry too much 😂

Lol leatherpants - seriously I joke she will just slip out with the first ctx. This is the main reason for inducing at 39w...

Summer/holiday traffic is the stuff of nightmares in our area. I was tempted to switch to our local hospital this time but getting from work to home could take hours in the worst case scenario. A hospital half way in between seemed smartest.

It took me 34 Hours. I’m willing to donate my excess labor hours to anyone afraid of a car baby.

yianna, 1:53 minutes?!?! I think I'd be camping out at the hospital. I can’t even describe the anxiety of spontaneous labor

yianna one of my BFF’s from HS had a baby at home delivered by her husband. Her first took 3 days so she had a couple contractions and figured she’ll hang out a bit to progress....within 30mins her DH delivered their baby in their bed. Everything turned out fine. She herself was born in the car on the way to the hospital. Her third was a longer labor and delivered in time with midwife. FX

yianna , 1:53 minutes?!?! I think I'd be camping out at the hospital. Or just planning a home birth. I think either of those is better than a car baby. Like, who is going to clean up the car afterwards.

Because srsly dnw to have to clean all that up later, especially after having just pushed a human out of my crotch.

When we had DS, we lived about 75 minutes from the hospital, but it could easily be 2 hours in rush hour traffic. I remember fretting to my OB about having a car baby and she pointed out that car babies are almost always easy, healthy deliveries with no problems. They come right out! So I guess that's something.
My labor ended up being 36 hours. LOL

1:53 = hour and 53 minutes — not less than two minutes...
And this was induction too...

I’m so scared of having a car baby. My first was born after 6hrs and the nurse said to me after I delivered “wow, better get here right away if you have a second baby”. Um THANKS!
Anyway, this week at the OB we started talking about induction since I’m AMA this time. They don’t like to go much past due date bc of that. Any other ladies here AMA and thinking about this? I am kind of leaning toward scheduling an induction for sometime early in my 39th week and it just makes everything feel so real and so soon. Eek.

AMA, plus two vessel cord - I’m inducing at 39w1d UNLESS MFM sees significant issues to advise earlier
