This made me giggle: Fox News covering today’s big story: Godiva. Lol. She is such a joke. (Former First Lady of SF)

catspajamas, I am terrible with FB, but I noticed people on Twitter use a bot to consolidate long threads. Maybe you can post the screenshot or link from here?

I have only engaged with one gun nut (friend of friend, a stranger to me) on FB so far this morning. I'm going to block and move on and try to find something fun to do today. And sit down to read the McDougal story finally.

@rocksforludo I can't find the post now, but I assume you realized that house you posted for bunnyfungo used to be Hubert Humphrey's?

Have not, I worry that my heart can't handle that. What's breaking me right now is seeing the kids who went through this advocating for change. We adults shouldn't have put them in this situation... they shouldn't have to tell us to fix it. I feel like we have let our kids down so majorly that we've let things get this far. They both made it out. And yes. The kids saying "you're the adults, fix this" are making me want to run to D.C. and hulk smash some shit. High school kids across the country are planning to stage a massive walk out in April. I love their initiative and am feeling hopeful that this is the generation that ends political apathy.

I have been thinking a lot about how these kids have the power of social media in their hands, and what a great thing that is for them. They don’t have to let politicians, the media, or even their parents speak for them. They can share their stories and calls to actions with millions of other young people, and ‘connect’ to them in a way that only a peer can.

It does make me nervous from a safety and security standpoint, but I'm hoping that localities have plenty of time between now and April to work with students and schools to find a way to keep this peaceful and productive.

Unfortunately I've already seen 3 different groups announce 3 different dates for walk outs. One next week, the Women's March folks announced one in March, and the one in April. Pet peeve: when organizers can't get organized.

They also scheduled the walk outs when a lot of schools are on spring break. But I guess that's hard to avoid.

Seems like something teenagers are motivated to do so adults should step out the way and let them do it.

I also don’t feel I agree with it because I think all the students who feel compelled to participate, whether they identify with the other causes of the women’s march or not, should feel comfortable and empowered in their own movement re gun control. I mean that’s what this is supposed to be about, no?

I heard the April one is supposed to be on the same date/anniversary as Columbine. I’m not sure why they have a March date too.

God I have been moved to tears so many times today watching these survivors speak up. They aren’t afraid to call out trump, the NRA, or the GOP. These kids are our future and they are on the right side of history and it makes me feel incredibly hopeful.

FFS, grow the hell up! This entire administration is so embarrassingly childish. Quit blaming Obama for everything and start focusing on this administration. As in, the one that's been too busy blaming and campaigning to actually accomplish much.
