How big is baby? Lavender bud
Team Pink/blue/green/don't know? Team green

Milestones:
Rants/Raves/AW/Questions? Do you do anything to try to help stay healthy? I'm a teacher and the flu is making the rounds at school and I am doing what I can to avoid it but would love to know if anyone has anything they swear by.

Checking in to say my appointment went great. It's measuring exactly 6 weeks and there was a heartbeat. It was so tiny. The ob is having me come back in two weeks just to see it when it's bigger. I'm grateful for her understanding my anxiety and my pgal brain.

knitty I'm a teacher too! What do you teach? I teach middle School science and I'm super nervous about getting the flu! We've had so many teachers and students out sick lately.

I feel like the past couple of days my exhaustion is starting to lessen. Like I'm still tired but not crashing on the couch at 7:30 PM tired. I almost feel like a normal human. I had no idea pregnancy could feel this way. I mean, I've heard it but with DD I was so sick and tired through 13 weeks that I lost 15 lbs during first tri. My boobs still hurt so I'm trying not to get nervous about feeling ok.

ftwr - I was lucky and had an easy pregnancy with DS. Occasional waves of nausea but not often, fatigue but nothing terrible. Overall felt pretty normal. DS is a happy heathy little dude. It's definitely possible to not feel like absolute crap while pregnant!! Try to enjoy it!!

it really truly is crazy how each pregnancy can be sooooo different ftwr! With DD, I don't think I had any symptoms really at all. I might've gone to bed early like once or twice but that was it. With DS, the first few weeks I couldn't keep my eyes open but then felt fine after that with hardly any nausea or anything. This time.........

When is your due date? How far along are you? Oct. 17th - 4 weeks today.
How big is baby? Poppy seed
Team Pink/blue/green/don't know? Don't know
Any Upcoming Appointments? Beta results this afternoon, repeat beta Friday. Need to schedule location u/s (previous ectopic) for about 5.5 weeks.
Symptoms: Though I lost 10 pounds last month (diet/exercise), my boobs are looking more booblicious than ever. I have bursts of nausea, but that may be excitement/nervousness. Constant thirst and peeing (so much it's ridiculous).
***TW: Prior CP Mentioned***
Milestones: A real BFP this morning! (Last cycle, I got a BFP on a Wondfo that faded a few minutes after the read window - I'm thinking CP because my LP was also 2 days longer than usual - and then yesterday morning, got a weird disappearing positive on a FRER that was really messing with my head. So a BFP line that stays put is exciting. DH kept looking at it and taking pictures like every 5 minutes, acting amazed every time that it's still there - like every 5 minutes it became a little more real to him. Very cute!).
Rants/Raves/AW/Questions? I was on my way to losing another 25-ish pounds, so obv that's on hold now. I know it's safe to not gain weight 1st tri, but when in 2nd tri do you need to start gaining to be healthy, and how much? I am starting at the higher end of normal weight (BMI around 24.5). Of course y'all aren't doctors, but I'm wondering what you have learned in your experiences. Thank you!

sunshiney - With my first at 22 weeks I hadn't even gained 5 pounds yet and my dr was perfectly fine with it. I more than made up for it the remaining weeks and completely blew past the range my dr gave me due to some bad swelling in my legs, ankles, and feet. Your dr should give you a weight gain range to aim for, but what you actually gain and when you gain it is very individualized. Generally it's good to try to keep active and eat well, but try not to worry about weight too much. You're dr should let you know if there's ever any reason to be concerned, so it's one of those things that's good to try to let go if you can.

sunshiney -- I've never heard of disappearing BFP lines that's crazy! And such a mind fuck for sure. I'm glad it stayed around this time as for weight gain timing and amount. I don't know if there ever is a set gain this much starting at this time. I think it's more based on the person rather than some set standard. For example, with DS, I was told at the very beginning that my doc wanted me to gain 40lbs. I haven't been told anything about that this time around even though I'm starting out at approximately the same weight as last time....

sunshiney I was slightly overweight with DS, and my doc still wanted me to gain 25 lbs. I had lost a few pounds during first tri because I was eating so well, but I gained my 25 (...plus a few more...) from about 20 weeks on. I think our bodies have a way of telling us what they need and when they need it.

When is your due date? How far along are you? 9/06 - 10 weeks tomorrow How big is baby? Grape! Team Pink/blue/green/don't know? Definitely finding out. Any Upcoming Appointments? Ultrasound next Wednesday with the RE. Next OB appt on March 9th. Contacted the geneticist today to schedule NIPT/NT screens. Symptoms: Still puking at least 1/day. Milestones: Rants/Raves/AW/Questions? My PGAL brain has been overactive the last few days. I have a doppler from my last pregnancy, and I am tempted to bust it out to see if I can find a heartbeat...but then I'll still worry if I can't find both heartbeats...and it is still early... I just need to sit on my hands for the next week.

Guess I will just hop right on in. When is your due date? How far along are you? October 8th. Five weeks and two days. How big is baby? Orange seed Team Pink/blue/green/don't know? I'm too much of a planner not to find out. Any Upcoming Appointments? I haven't even called my OBs office yet. I got my first bfp a week ago and it still seems unreal. Symptoms: sore boobs and exhaustion. I sometimes get a little winded when doing simple things like going up the stairs. Milestones: Nothing major yet. It's still a secret and I'm taking it one day at a time right now. Rants/Raves/AW/Questions? I am a little hesitant to get excited. I've been having odd sensations on my left side- I wouldn't call them cramps, it almost feels like the ovulation pains I got every month. Not sure if it means anything good or bad. It was a little painful on the drive home today though and had my mind in some less than pleasant places. Read more: howeverithappened.proboards.com/thread/12061/weekly-check-2-5-11#ixzz56TD8ELsr

sunshiney I am clinically obese and the best advice I got regarding weight was that if I ate a solid, balanced diet then my body would gain what it needed. So by a lot of standards I should have only gained like 10lbs. However, both my previous pregnancies I gained 35-40 lbs. And then I lost it within 2 months. So eating well is the most important thing. Of course this is barring severe nausea of any sickness that makes you only tolerate certain foods. It really is so individual, but it's just important to stay active as you can and eat a well-balanced diet. ETA just saw you have Crohn's, so I'm sure you are very particular about your diet.

sunshiney the weight thing is so different for everyone. I’m about 50 lbs overweight, and with my daughter I lost 14 lbs in the first tri (nausea/vomiting). I went on to develop gestational diabetes and so had to be very careful about my diet, watch carbs, etc. As a result of all this I was still about 7 lbs under my pre-pregnancy weight when she was born at 41 weeks. My OB was not concerned because DD was healthy and growing normally. It sucked being so sick and restricted food wise though. This time I’m starting at about the same weight but feeling way less sick so I’m sure I’ll gain. I’m kind of meh about it as long as the baby is doing well.

chriskoo CharlieB blurnette989 flyliceandcoffee Thanks for the calming advice on weight loss/gain. I think it's just on my brain since I've been so focused on calorie counting and setting weight loss goals lately! But I feel better that I can just take it one day at a time and do my best and listen to the doctor it will be fine.
