I bought some dry shampoo tonight and I’m scared to use it. I’ve only tried one other dry shampoo before and the result wasn’t great. My hair felt really weird and actually looked worse than before putting it on. I’m assuming that’s not normal, right? My hairdresser recommends Batiste. So do I

shan-ah-doo, I’ll keep that in mind if this one doesn’t work out. I really want to find one that works. My hair is so fine that I need to wash daily or it looks oily and gross. I would love to be able to skip an occasional day and still look decent. The one I bought before was expensive and I used it once. This time I went the opposite route and bought Dove. Maybe I solved my problem for 5 dollars?? Ive used Not Your Mothers. I tried Dove recently but found the fragrance too strong. Not sure if you tried this already, but I always spray my hair and comb it through before I go to sleep.

My hair gets oily really easily. I’ve been able to wash it every other day with no problems now. I lift a small section by my part and spray under it and then massage around a little with my fingers.

@easilyunamused, I just learned about dry shampoo before bed. I approve of this method entirely. I still end up putting a little bit in in the morning, but it makes a huge difference.

I have tried several... ranked in order.
Batiste Living Proof Not Your Mother's Pssst (my old client. They were the original) I haven't tried it, but I'd add just random dirt and flour, maybe have someone spit on me before recommending Tresseme.
ETA: I like Batiste and Living Proof about the same. But $5 for more is way better than $18.

Since MIL gave DS a vhs tape for Christmas and we had to drag out the old vcr, I dug thru storage and found the box of all my Disney vhs tapes. DS watched Oliver & Co and 101 Dalmatians today. Tomorrow he wants to watch Lady & The Tramp.

You can spray it in before you go to bed and allow it to absorb the oil overnight, or you can spray it in the morning and tjuz it in with your fingers before styling.

I spent the day painting and learned some expensive lessons. 1) Always buy the sample. I bought two gallons of a colour that is completely wrong for the hallway and dining room. It will sort of work for DD's room. 2) Buy one gallon at a time. I bought two for our bedroom and haven't used half for the first coat. The guy must have known I was newbie and told me I would need more that I did. Now, I have to figure out what colour to paint the dining room tomorrow because we move in this week. Wine is being consumed. I just spent a ton on samples and I'm still not sure we have the right color. Don't buy one gallon at a time. You'll need the extra in the future for touch ups (btw store it somewhere climate controlled) and if you get more mixed up later it might not be an exact match. You can calculate how many gallons you need based on square footage I calculated how much I needed. The paint guy told me I was wrong and that I needed two gallons. I have used less than 50% of the paint for the first coat so there will be more than enough for the room plus touch ups from the one gallon.

OMG, am I supposed to be spraying it on my hair before bed? Not when I wake up? It helps soak up the oils from overnight and is easier to style imo. And like @ka3m, if I need to spray just a little in the AM.

I'm the ultimate cheapskate. I brush a little cornstarch in at my roots with a blush brush instead of dry shampoo. It absorbs the oil and disappears.
I don't buy paint samples either. I just wing it, half the time with something off the mis-tint shelf. 🤷

I didn’t know either when I first started using it. It makes a difference to spray it in before bed. Then I only have to use a little in the morning. It’s life changing.

Today is the best. I just had a bath and now I’m doing a face mask and it feels amazing.
I look scary AF though.

The washing everyday is probably what’s causing the greasiness in the first place.

I've been using dry shampoo for... like 7? 8 years? I literally just found out about this from some stupid "15 beauty products you've been using wrong" facebook post a couple years ago. You're ahead of the curve.
