I'm so irritated. My SIL skipped her own grandmother's funeral. MIL was so upset. SIL showed up at the luncheon all cavalier showing off her new haircut from yesterday, wearing a backless dress and saying "I don't think Grandma would mind that I wasn't there." It's not about her you twat, you go to support your family. Funerals are for the living. 😤😡
The service was beautiful though.

We've had a burnt out bulb in the bathroom forever. We replaced it a while ago, and it just burnt out again within a day and we never replaced it. I told DH to fix it today, it apparently still doesn't work. Why did I have to suggest to him that we need to buy a new light fixture? I'm pretty sure broken lights during open houses are a bad idea, right? I don’t think you should have a non-working light for an open house.

All 8 light bulbs in DDs bathroom went out at once this week and instead of replacing the light bulbs MH called for a quote to renovate the whole bathroom. A day before we had talked about no home projects this year with the babies coming. 🙄 So I told him if we’re doing a bathroom I’d rather do the master.

tater, I mean, I know the answer I'm just shocked that he doesn't. And he's super critical of houses we look at, so it's not like he doesn't realize what the standards are.

Make sure all visible parts of the house are functional.

The baby is entering her destructinator phase. She is cruising around the house, pulling down all the books, dumping out the bins, and hitting everything with a toy drumstick. I suppose this will probably be my life for the next few years.

I always want to rebel against the ubiquitous bag. I feel like it must be going out of style soon right? i feel like there are so many more interesting options I agree! And honestly, my weekend bag still takes such a beating with kid stuff, I don’t want to carry anything too expensive.

Hah. But to contradict myself, I just told DH not to bother replacing the bulb in this fixture. (He tried, the bulb is very much the wrong color and looks awful.)

We are lucky that our living space is fairly easily baby-proofed in terms of safety. Hopefully our books survive her toddlerhood, since they have nowhere else to go. Her latest rampage, brought to you by the number 3, which she particularly loves to chew on:

OMG apparently idiot parents think that if the Eagles win tomorrow school should be cancelled Monday. The district just sent an email assuring us that no matter the outcome of the game, there will be school.
I mean... I just... People are idiots, right?

It’s snowing like crazy here and they just shut down the main road through the city. I guess that means my Ikea trip isn’t happening today.
Go. To. Hell. Winter.

Damn, @spacetiger, I'm sorry you had to deal with that level of selfishness on such a hard day. I'm sorry for your loss.

DD does really well with “coughing like a vampire” (into her elbow). I’m going to use this on H. Save myself some pillows. We do this too, it's called the chicken wing.🐓

MH pulled his calf muscle today, it’s worse than a man cold. Send help!!
Also I’m pissed off because it means we had to cancel plans to go to ikea today and the space centre tomorrow. And now I have to clean, tidy and grocery shop while he sits on his ass

I’m dying a slow death because of cramps. H will be gone until late tonight and I’m running out of ways to keep the kid occupied. Days like this I really wish she liked tv.

And of course today all of my subscription orders from Amazon came in and I hate dealing with unpacking the stupid boxes.

DS is napping, DD and H are still out, and I have coffee and Drag Race All Stars. I need to meal plan, but I might squeeze in a nap first.
I’m supposed to go to one of those painting/wine things with a bunch of my girlfriends tonight, but I don’t know if I feel like going. I’m so tired.

Like, it’ll snow a shit ton then we’ll get 40 degree weather so it all melts at once and my yard turns into a swampy mess. That situation is the bane of my existence since having a dog. SO MUCH MUD.

Ds1 (4 yo) just asked me how babies get in bellies. What did you say? I told him babies start off super small, like seeds, in mom’s body and grow bigger and bigger (he already knows that babies come out of vagina or bellies- he was a c-section). I was prepared to say that the “seed” was put there by the dad but he asked me another, unrelated, and completely random question about jump ropes. Would that have been too much for an almost four year old, the “dad puts baby inside Mom” thing?
