Today is the last day of the kiddos' preschool break. It actually went surprisingly smoothly. I was expecting a lot more fighting and whining, but they were pretty chill most of the time, and I was actually able to get some of the stuff on my to-do list done.

Yay for a good break and crossing things off your to do list, crimsonandclover ! Good luck at the interview, lollipop! I'm so glad it's Friday. I'm working from home and trying to get laundry done and pack. Ack! I am not as prepared as I normally am. We leave tomorrow morning for San Diego. So looking forward to a nice break from everything. DS is bursting with excitement!! SaveSave

What do you guys do in response to LOs hitting and scratching? We hold K's hands and say no hit and nice hands. We also remove her or is from the area (hit sister? Can't play with sister, that kind of thing). Just wondering if you have any other strategies you use.

I'm bummed. It turns out I can't do the Uber eats thing because I only have a probationary license. I can't do the advanced road test until February. Oh well.

I've got no other ideas other than just being consistent with this. Also if she's doing it to me I'll get up and walk away.

But she still hits when she gets upset once in a while.

I'm leaving in about 5 minutes for an interview. I have another one tomorrow. Fingers crossed at least one of them hires me.

My interview went well. The lady said that I should schedule a training shift in order to see if I can actually do the job. I want to take it, but I'd only be getting one shift a week, most likely.
I have another interview tomorrow, so maybe if they want me, I'll take both? I'm not sure. Take the job I might actually like and hope I get more than one shift, or a job that I am guaranteed not to enjoy, and have more shifts. And this is all assuming I even get the job tomorrow. Adulting is hard

Dd2 went through a hitting phase that we called "Bringing the Hammer." When you would tell her no about something she would stop, then immediately raise her right arm in the air and hold it up above her head while she walked across the room to you and them WHAM hit you on whatever part she could reach - usually your leg.
I mostly ignored it and she eventually stopped. Sometimes I couldn't help but laugh, though.

Good luck lollipop! If it were me I would probably take both for now and then hope you can pick up more shifts at the one you like. copperboom, pretty much the same, we say "we don't hit, that hurts mama/dada/whoever" and then move him along. He usually just does it now when he's tired. Have fun in SD scorpioscuba! I'm off to a wedding tomorrow in Pennsylvania. I'm going by myself and leaving H and the LO at home - my MIL is in town helping out. It's just a one night trip but I'm kinda looking forward to it. It's just so nice and efficient to travel alone. On the other hand, I'm not sure that I'll know anyone at the wedding, so I hope it's fun.

nellieoleson, so funny! DD2 used to tense up her whole body until she started shaking and then snapped out like a shark to bite whoever had wronged her (usually DD1 taking her toys). lollipop, good luck with the jobs! If I were you, I'd probably take both jobs. Then if one doesn't pan out you'll still have the other, and it doesn't sound like either would be giving you so many shifts that you couldn't do both. Tomorrow we're going to a baptism and it's supposed to be super hot. At home I've got several strategies for keeping cool, but we'll probably just sit and sweat there. The good news is that preschool starts again on Monday

nellieoleson, that's pretty funny. I'd have a hard time not laughing at the hammer. lollipop, I think I'd accept both jobs to try them out. You might like the other one more than you expect. crimsonandclover, ugh I can't stand the heat. I spend as much time as possible indoors during the summer. I hope you stay comfortable during the baptism. ET fix tag

tinydancer, a night away alone sounds amazing. If you aren't having fun, take off and go pamper yourself. I'm jealous!

Cautiously optimistic here. We have K totally off bottles. Three nights ago, we did CIO with comforting after set times. It was an ugly hour and a half. Two nights ago, she slept through without a peep. Last night, she woke up and cried a few times, but settled herself down again almost immediately.
::tries so hard not to jinx it::
Re: hitting Our issue is mostly when she hits her big sister. No matter how much we tell her not to react, big sister gets kissed mad and yells. K thinks that's hysterical. It's a learning process...

Even if they wanted to hire me, I don't think I can afford to work at the store I interviewed at today 😂 dress code is clothes from the store, and the least expensive thing I saw was $50 on the clearance rack. Back to the drawing board I guess.

I still need to night wean dd2, but I am too tired to deal... and the cycle continues. We don't have too much of a problem with dd2 hitting Dd1, it's almost exclusively the other way around, but we have the same yelling/screaming issue going on. Dd1 will get mad and yell at dd2, who thinks it's awesome her sister is paying attention to her and screams back with happiness and glee, which infuriates Dd1 who screams even louder. Repeat until Dd1 storms off to her room sobbing, and dd2 is left wondering why the fun game is over. Good times. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oh! And we are officially moved! There is stuff everywhere, Dd1 has already asked if we can go home, and did I mention there is stuff everywhere? But we are here. Phew.

It's been a good day here. Some work shit is getting me down. Trying to remember to just do me and not get involved in the drama is a lot today. Ready for a day off.

I think I f&@$ing jinxed it. She's been crying on and off for an hour. I don't want to go in there but I think I might need to. Sigh. Two steps forward, one step back.

Why oh why are hotel bed sizes always smaller than advertised? We have a room with "2 Queens" but they are really doubles. And kings are never really a king. I don't get it. 🙄

nellieoleson and anyone else moving, you're pretty much a super hero. Moving with small kids is something else. K wouldn't completely settle from 11:30-2:00 last night. She'd cry, fuss back to sleep and repeat every 15-20 minutes. We went back to going in at intervals to settle her, which pissed her off. H is wonderful and woke up with her at 7:00. I slept until 10:00. FFSC? In addition to enjoying sleeping in, I see it as a win because it means lunch and breakfast are combined for me today and I should have an easier time not going over my calories. 😂

Moving is definitely crazy with two small kids. This morning dd2 was playing with an unattached HDMI cable while I drank coffee out of a pint glass because I couldn't find the coffee cups.
We just got the TV set up and parked the kiddos in front of some Paw Patrol, so hopefully we can actually get some stuff done for a little bit!

Hi! I am calling today a success becasue L didn't poop in the bath! I made the decision this morning to majorly curb my drinking. I am going to try just Saturday at least until I lose 10lbs. I bought a zero turn mower today. I am really hoping this will h And I think that's all the news from my corner of the woods. Did we already cover everyone's plans for Father's Day?

Hell night #2. I know she will be ok. She won't be scarred by this. But she's hoarse from crying and I just want to hold her.
Do not tell me to go hold her. I'm too weak right now.
