It's officially JUNE! I feel like a broken record, but, where has this year gone? What's happening this week?

I'm feeling pretty darn good today, especially for a Monday! We had fun all weekend and we had an awesome night of sleep last night! *knocks on wood*
I heard DD wake up a couple times and grumble but she fell back asleep. Then she was up sitting up in her crib at 5:20am kind of crying and I got up to go get her. I went to the bathroom first and when I checked the monitor again she was just grumbling so I decided to wait it out and see what she'd do. After a few minutes she laid back down and fell asleep till a little after 6am! Hallelujah. She rolled around a bit and finally I went in at 6:15. I wanted to go in when she was happy and content to give her some positive reinforcement. I made a big deal about her sleeping all night and waking up in her crib. She gave me her blankie and kitty then wanted to stay and play in her crib for a bit. What a nice relaxing morning. It's a win for today but I'm not so sure this is going to last. Especially since we leave for San Diego on Saturday.
I've realized I really am my own worst enemy with her sleep. If she wakes up I need to give her more than 2 minutes to figure stuff out for herself.

scorpioscuba Yay for a good night of sleep! We had a pretty good one too. L fell sleep at five and pretty much slept through until the morning. Slept through meaning she woke up to nurse twice but that was it.

M has slept through the whole night for like 5 nights in a row now. I didn't even bother making a bottle for her last night.
We had a decent weekend. And now it's Monday and my kids actually cooperated long enough for me to grab a shower while they had breakfast. Other than S going to school we have no real plans for the day.

I posted in the other thread that preschool/daycare is closed this week. I should probably have some activities planned, but I don't. We'll probably go to the area playgrounds a few times, maybe do some baking.

Go see wonder woman! It's so good! I saw it with my mom this weekend.
Dd had a fever and felt pretty bad Saturday so we didn't do too much except hang out at home with my parents. Dd felt better Sunday but got sent home from daycare for a fever today.
I read a book yesterday! Go me!

I am so thankful for my healthy girls. I feel awful for those of you dealing with repeat ailments I hope they get well quickly. We had a busy weekend. We cut two. Huge limbs out of a tree, resulting in 19 bags of yard waste and a substantial amount of fire wood. We have lots more trimming to do and a few more limbs, just no where to put it at the moment. We hit the parks and splash pad and it was amazing to see dd3 just take off and enjoy playing with her sisters. So rewarding In addition to my not so great blood test results, i had a hearing test last week and scored with moderate hearing loss in one ear (I'm not surprised). Now I'm headed to a CT scan and the ent is concerned about otosclerosis which appears to be more of a permanent loss. I am vacillating between "eh no big deal" and freaking out and feeling like I should learn to lip read. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Of course. I mention how great M has been sleeping, and now she won't go down for the night. It's been an hour of her crying. She's been teething so I tried Tylenol. She didn't want her bottle. I think she's over tired. Kill me

The first big adventure of this week off will be grocery shopping today. I've already set the ground rules for the things they always whine for (no chocolate surprise eggs, they each get to pick 1 bag of gummy bears), but I'm sure they'll find 240392 other things they NEEEEEED to have. And in good news, I have realized that I really love my job. I'm starting quite a few new projects, and if all goes as planned I think they will mean a significant improvement for the non-German speakers where I work (employment contracts offered in English along with all other HR forms, signs, hopefully better trained staff to answer their questions, etc.). I'm excited to make progress on them

In a non-related question... what does it mean when someone "follows" you on tapatalk? I've gotten a couple of notifications in the last few days that someone is now "following me". I mean, I get it on Twitter, but what does it mean on tapatalk? Every time I post they get a notification? Or what? I suppose if that's the case they'll get a notification on this post and can tell me if I'm right

@crimsonsndclover I don't know what it means exactly but I know how it happens: basically if someone "likes" something you wrote, tapa will automatically add them as following you. If you do the same, this will automatically happen to you. I am sure there is a way to turn this off... I haven't bothered.

crimsonandclover it's a setting that they have to turn off. As far as I can tell it doesn't mean much of anything. No notifications when you post. Maybe your posts show up in their feed. But I never look at the feed so am not sure about that.

In happy new from here L left for daycare yesterday and today with no crying/fuss at all. And when hubs dropped her off she put on her inside shoes and peaced out without even a see you later. And while I know we hoped for this it's still a little sad.

Just waiting for my boss to go on a real vacation so I can have a work stay-cation. That's basically what I call it when he's out of the office.
1 month and a few days until vacation... and I've completely dropped off the work out train. Bad timing for that.

We had another good sleep night. I was able to get up and get ready for work in peace before DD got up, then I nursed her before I left. It was SOOO nice!
And I got an acai bowl on my way in to work for breakfast. Yum!

It was after 10 before M finally went to sleep last night. We ended up having to let her CIO. I would kill for coffee.
I was doing really well for a couple of months with doing my hair and makeup most days, but I've gotten lazy. I don't remember the last time I bothered with makeup.

Daycare is transitioning him to the Young Toddler room. I'm sad again. I don't know why these transitions bother me. I'm good, great even, with every other milestone/transition that means he's growing up, except daycare. I think it's just imagining him going into this room of kids/teachers he doesn't know. I know they don't actually just toss him in there, but it makes me a little sad and anxious for him. It's like he's the new kid in town. Those other kids better be nice to my baby!

Garage sale was a success! We made enough to buy a new lawn mower, weed eater, and some of our new window coverings. MIL left a few hours ago and it feels good to have my house back to myself. I'm so grateful she came out to help us. Dd2 is so stinking cute lately. I forgot how much I love this age. Such a little troublemaker, but an adorable troublemaker at least. I took the kids for happy meals for supper tonight. Because lazy. The shocking thing is that M is eating more than just her fries. She usually ignores her nuggets or burger.

We went to the zoo today and dd3 fell asleep half way through. She is sleeping so poorly and is obviously miserable. I feel bad but it's making us all tired and she she is CLINGY, and not in a cuddly way. I just found out that volunteering at VBS means I need to be an hour early. I can't decide if this is a good thing or not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

H taking last week off has me completely mixed up. I don't know if he works tomorrow or not because I can't remember what it was supposed to be last week.
And I just noticed that I actually have boobs. There was a time that without a bra I was flat as a board. Apparently my mother was right, all it took was having kids for me to get some. According to her this is a trait I get from my father's family. There's not a lot that I get from them, physically, so I mostly brushed it off as her trying to make 16 year old me feel better.

dizzycooks, since the beginning of April, DD3 has gotten 9 teeth. 9. In about 8 weeks. I feel your pain. Yesterday was a pretty chill day with the kiddos (except for one big fight about cleaning), and today is shaping up to be the same. Ok, they probably watched more youtube videos than is strictly healthy, but we also went grocery shopping, baked cookies, cleaned, etc. Today I'd like to start cleaning out more of our storage area. That was my big house goal for this week, and if I want to get it done I'd probably better get started!

J goes through stages where he will eat some nuggets or a cheeseburger (deconstructed first of course because that's the way he likes it). He will not eat McDonald's fries. I don't even know how he can be my child. Those are my favorite!

I picked him up yesterday and he had spent the afternoon in his new room. They were all sitting in a circle doing songs. They were singing Row, Row, Row your boat and they had movements to go with them. He was doing some of them! I was so surprised. He catches on to things so much quicker than I expect sometimes.

silverspoon, I have a big milestone I can use to remember DD1 at this age, and I know that her passive language skills always surprised me. Right at about 17 months she could follow multi-step instructions like "Please pick up this pillow and take it into the living room". I've noticed DD3 understanding more and more, as well. Watching language skills develop absolutely fascinates me, especially the bilingual stuff we have going on. I've read theories about language development (especially in bilingual kids), and it's crazy to watch them play out in real life. #nerd

Update on Dd1: Her MRI isn't until July. This is somewhat comforting because if they were really worried she had a tumor, I can't imagine they would wait that long. The bad news is I have to stop myself from freaking out until then. The reason it isn't going to happen for so long is that they had to coordinate 3 different doctors to be there, and that was the soonest it worked with their schedules. If we did it sooner she would end up having to go in for two different procedures and need to be put under anesthesia both times. By waiting we can get everything done at one time -- and then hopefully get started putting all this scary stuff behind us! And we are officially moving this weekend! So, it's not like my life is busy or stressful at all right now. Haha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

nellieoleson, that is kind of reassuring, although in your shoes I would also be very worried until then. It really does sound like it's a "this is highly unlikely but we need to rule it out" kind of thing.
