I’m hanging at home with G and the baby. She has school this morning. I think this afternoon I may go to Target this afternoon. There are a few things we need.

I was going to start a post this morning but then one of my minions needed something. Lol.
Or now. When I’m holding a restless baby in one arm and see that DD2 and 3 are playing ‘hair salon’. Their hair is soaked. The bathroom is wet. 🤦🏼♀️ Life with multiple children at home. It’s always special. But it’s true what they say. By the time the third comes around you stop caring. And then the fourth, well... 🤷🏼♀️
This morning baby was rooting, so I’d try and nurse her, and she was just licking my nipple. WTH child? That’s just weird.

James had his 1 week check up today - everything is looking good.
It sucks not being able to drive and have a weight lifting restriction due to the c section.

So it’s always better to be safe than sorry, right? I’m feeling kind of ridiculous because I have these bright floaters in my vision and my hands look a little swollen so I have a call into my OB because google says possible pre-e (I actually noticed my hands earlier today but didn’t really think anything of it until the vision issues, so I know I’m not totally imagining it).

Can you check your bp in the meantime while you are waiting? Or are they quick about getting back to you? When I got really sick a few weeks ago, I borrowed a bp monitor from my parents so it is still residing at our house until I have the baby! ETA: I mean like at the drugstore or Walmart, where they have the ones you can use... Also, no, you are not being ridiculous!

Pre-e is scary and not to be taken lightly. Definitely call and/or go in if you’re showing signs of it! Worst (or best case?) is they tell you you’re fine and send you home

She will just put her mouth on my nipple and go to sleep, she doesn't suck or anything, just puts it in her mouth and drifts off...

I'm thinking I need to up the formula at each feeding. Twice in the last 24 hours she has still been rooting/hungry after nursing at least 15 minutes on each side and guzzling 2 ounces of formula. With my supply I put her back on the breast and that seems to satisfy her but I don't know how much she is getting or if she is just soothing herself.
She nursed and had formula about an hour ago and we are currently 20 minutes into another nursing session. She is slowing down but is nursing so I'm just going with it for now. Any suggestions? I want to maximize breast milk intake but having her attached to me for an hour or so at a time is not super appealing.
Otherwise we have survived our first day alone together. She was up eating for 2 hours overnight so after the 7:00 am feeding we both went back to bed and slept until 11. Fed her, I ate lunch, we Facetimed with my mom while she was alert, took a nap and started some laundry. Our first meal delivery from church is tonight so it is nice not to have to worry about what to have for dinner or prepping for dinner.

I'm so blah today. Reflux is really getting to me lately... or rather the vomiting. It's every.single.feed. I have to do laundry everyday and MH wants to burn our bed it's been puked on so much. He's doing really well with the weight gain and isn't upset when he pukes (unless it's really coming out of his nose) but I wish there was something we could do to make it stop. Our drs appt isn't until next Thursday 😩

Oh my god this cramping hurts so f*cking bad I’m ready to cry. I’ve noticed that it comes on if I’m lying on my side. I sleep on my side so it makes sense that the pain is horrendous in the morning. I was legit crying this morning bc the pain was so intense. It goes away with Tylenol/Advil and once I’m moving around a bit. It’s coming on again since I was just laying on my side on the couch. And holy shit I’m sitting here trying to breath through the pain. According to my google search, it sounds fairly normal for STM as the ligaments are extra stretchy and everything’s moving back into place. But I put a call into my OB anyway.

aprilz81, do you have any access to an LC? I wonder if that might be helpful for you. I did seek them out with DS and am so glad, it helped so much. I didn't realize he was just doing the stimulation suck and never switched over to active sucking. (seems easy to tell but it wasn't for me!) It is NOT easy and it is NOT instinctual to figure out. Not in my experience. Maybe the hospital can provide resources? I just connected a friend IRL that has her first (who is now about a week old) with another friend that is a leader of La Leche League...I clearly think that kind of help is crucial!

I was hoping my bottle of Tums would last through the end of the pregnancy but I'm going to have to get more this weekend! ETA: sorry about all the puking/laundry. We were there with DS for a long time when he was born. Do you hold him upright for 30 min after a feed?

Sometimes we're lucky and we'll get away with just a little spit up, but more often than not it's pukeageddon. Guess I better stock up on beers
