I start teaching my course tomorrow and, not surprisingly, I am coming down with something.
I just hope I can get through the logistical hiccups of the first week well enough to dive into the topics.
The twins are entering Leap 5 and E has become totally distracted and disinterested in eating while D has become a clingy mess. Good times.

The baby is napping. The house is clean (except the bathroom, which I'll clean at toddler naptime). And the toddler is playing independently. A rare moment of calm. I love it.

I feel so accomplished. I returned four things to amazon, put my friends care package in the mail, got gas, took a nap, and am now getting a mani/pedi. As much as I wish I didn’t get called off work bc it eat up my vacation time, I am so excited for today. Next stop is target to try on some bathing suits bc most of the ones from amazon were a disaster. Ordered some more but am going to go try to find some in person at target or Walmart. We will see.

addymac I hate hate hate bathing suit shopping. Best of luck to you. Continuing the food discussion from the other thread, we've done oatmeal cereal, sweet potatoes, and carrots. He loves the cereal the most, then the carrots and then the sweet potatoes. Here's a much more enthusiastic eater than my older one. I love it!! It's so much fun to see him making chewing motions and his facial expressions when he tries new things. I have green beans to try later this week, but I doubt he will like that one.

Some of you have tried a lot already! I was really just waiting to be closer to 6 months and he just started to sit unassisted for longer.
He seemed to be interested and not at the same time. I think he liked the taste, but wasn’t sure about the texture. I’m sure it’s strange at first after only having liquids. I think we’ll try again at dinner too.

addymac, bathing suit shopping is not the best time. I need a new one soon for Mexico, but that’s still a few months away, so I’m hoping to drop some extra lbs first. I finally was able to clean the whole house at once! Luckily MH wrangled the baby so I could just get it over with. I realized that it’s a decent work out too!

I waited till at least 6 months with my first. No real reason for not waiting this time except she seemed like she would be interested but so far not too much so I’ll back off for a bit maybe. |

@easilyunamused yeah I am not a fan of bathing suits right now. Need them for my trip to FL next week. I am hoping some new ones I ordered will Work out better bc otherwise- ugh. I may just take an oversized T-shirt to throw on top anyway. One pair of high waisted bottoms didn’t cover my belly button and I really wanted that hidden so ugh.
I opted out of going to target. #lazy. Going to nap after I pump. Best day off in forever. Seriously!!

E is not a fan of food yet. And I really haven't tried more than a couple of times. She'll take a sip out of my water cup occasionally and that's about it.
I'll miss the breastfed baby poop once she's eating more. She's been a once a week pooper for a couple months now. DS did it too. The. Best.

So j has a bad rash on his chest. It's not eczema. He has that on his face and is on a steroid cream. His chest now has reddish purple dots all over it, mostly on the upper half. I showed the nurse at school a photo and called the nurses line at our doctor. They don't think it's anything major but if it spreads or he gets a fever or it gets worse we will take him in. I'm sure it's nothing but it's freaking me out. Of course Google scared the crap out of me. I hope it's just a heat rash from the fleece sleep sack we tried him in.

J is all about food
He tries to grab everything we are eating. Unlike his big sis he is not that into oatmeal but loves prunes and butternut squash. I am going to try banana or avocado tomorrow. We are also adding peanut butter next week right before his 6 months appointment.
Sleep is still. Hot or miss including naps...

When your babies started solids, did they start to strain harder to poop? I’m wondering if that’s why A was up so often last night. When I brought him in bed to nurse, he kept making his poop noises. Lol

So the doctor didn't know what it was and didn't like the color of the rash so they did blood work. He had to have a platelet count so they had to take blood from his arm, not a finger or foot stick. My poor baby wailed. We will get some results tonight and some in the morning. I just missed the call because j was putting j down for a nap.

Thanks guys. His rash looks so bad. The purple color is just weird. His platelet count came back normal and all other blood work, minus one test, has come back and they are all normal which makes me feel better. The doctor said if it's normal then it's just a viral rash and pretty much has to run it's course. I hope it runs it soon because J is starting to really scratch at it.

king26 so glad to hear all the blood work came back normal. Sucky that it’s bothering him and there’s no definitive answer but I’m glad it’s probably “just viral”. Can you put some sort of lotion on it??
