My milk came in about a day and a half ago and despite waking the baby up to eat every 3 hours, I still woke up completely engorged and so uncomfortable. Even after feeding her from both sides, I still felt so engorged so I whipped out the hand pump and STILL got another 4oz 😳 ugh. I hope i don’t have an oversupply issue due to my body remembering how much milk DD1 consumed as a baby

My husband went back to work this morning so it’s my first full day on my own. Trying to decide if I want to leave the house today or just hang out watching tv while the baby eats all the time.

So one of my girlfriends just FaceTimed me to tell me they’re pregnant w #3!!! They were in our squadron but moved to a new duty station last month so I miss her. And SO excited they’re pregnant 😍😍

I’m scared. Starting on Thursday, MH is going to be so busy with work. The company he works for does a trip every year as a reward to those who sell a certain amount for the year. Well, ALL the sales guys qualified for the trip and MH is the only sales guy staying behind, since we just had a kid and all. Well, they all leave on Thursday and come back next Wednesday. His boss just called him giving him a heads up that they have a TON of appointments this week and that he’s going to be super busy, as long as he’s up for it. We desperately need the money since his work has been so slow lately and he’s commission only and I’m not working. So I gave him my blessing to go balls-to-the-wall. I’ll manage. Only thing is the FIL also qualified for the trip (he works for the same company, different role tho), so MIL who is my helper will also be gone 😭

Someone hold me and tell me I’m going to be ok.

A friend is popping by after work today to drop off a baby gift, and DS’s hockey practice got moved to this afternoon. Otherwise will just be getting used to the new routine today!

First checkup for baby girl today! I am a little nervous for the weight check as my boobs like to slack on the milk production front but I promised myself I would supplement if needed and not feel guilt about it. We will see what happens!

Hello, Monday and week 39! I slept in the recliner on the couch last night and it was the most comfortable I’ve been in a long time sleeping. Until DD yelled out for me at 3:30 asking where I was. So she came down and slept with me. ❤️
I’ve definitely slowed down a bit today. Here’s hoping I get through this last week of work, but I would totally be ok if baby decided to come. It really never crossed my mind that I’d possibly be working next week. So I hope things start happening soon!

Shit, shit, shit... DH is showing most symptoms of influenza. Obviously everyone except the newborn had the flu shot but I know it's worthless this year. I hope it's something else bacterial/treatable. I have never seen him this sick. It seemed like a cold over the weekend but overnight he developed a fever and feels worse.

amesie if you don’t want to develop an oversupply when you pump I would only pump 1-2 oz just to get a little relief.

I am up feeding the babe. I need coffee. Once he’s done eating I have to go get everything ready for M to go to school. I had plans to be productive when he was at school but I think I am just going to crawl back in bed. We’ll see how I feel after coffee.

Tiredddd. Just finished my coffee & im laying on the couch. DD is being super sweet today & listening well for once haha. She’s been pretty good at playing on her own when we need her to.

Also— DH is trhing to teach her to use Alexa & he is whispering the command to DD so that Alexa doesn’t respond to him but then DD just whispers it too 😂 so she just yelled at Alexa, “alexa play the frozen soundtrack by various artists!” And I’m dying laughing 😂😂

that was with me just pumping for relief! My boobs were ROCK hard and so so painful. I only pumped until I got relief from that pain. I’m only 5 days in tho, so I’m hoping that now that my milk is completely in, my body can now work on regulating. This baby doesn’t seem nearly as interested in her milk as her big sister did.

J had his first checkup this morning, all looks good. He lost 7% of his body weight but they are ok with up to 10%. They have a lactation consultant on staff which I wasn't expecting. It was a nice surprise since I have still been having lots of pain at latch/letdown.

I'm so scared for that pp poop. It's coming. I've been taking my colace and today I took a Motrin in advance, just in case. I'm still so swollen down there with bulging stitches especially by my bum. I so vividly remember my first pp with DD. It was... Not fun.

For me, the pain & discomfort lasted way shorter this time than with DD. So hopefully you’re at the end of it! I get uncomfortable when he sleeps a long time but with DD I couldn’t even sleep on my side at night without waking up feeling super engorged on that side and/or leaking on the bed. None of that this time.

DH is planning our super bowl menu even though it’s iust us. He came up with a few things he wants me to make and I just looked at him like “no, I’m not doing anything” lol. I’m ordering a pizza & drinking one of the beers I’ve been saving for post-delivery.

luckily the cleaners are here today, and we have so many meals being made for us this week and next week by family and friends! So pretty much all I have to do is keep me and the kids alive 😂 I think I can manage that

ETA I used the dermoplast spray before my first poop and it worked wonders taking the sting out!

I’m at work and really dragging today. A lot of my coworkers can’t believe I plan on working until I deliver and can’t understand why I don’t ask Togo out early.

Weight check went okay, she was 2 oz over her discharge weight (we got discharged Thursday) and needs to gain 8 oz to make birth weight back. I don't think my milk fully came in until the last day or two thanks to being induced so hopefully we can do this 💪

We had another weight check today. She’s gained 4oz since Friday! The dr was pumped about that. He also said to keep waking her to eat at night for another week.

I also noticed last night that her cord was smelling really bad. And it was worse today. It’s a little gooey at the top part of it. So I had the ped look at it today while we were there and he said it’s normal 🤷🏼‍♀️ I hope that thing falls off soon. It’s gross.
