Oh my gosh kim22! What a thing to have happen, but esp. having just had a baby. I hope you will never hear from your kidneys again after all this!

kim22, how awful. Hopefully it's a super smooth process and then you are done with kidney stones forever!

I'm getting a Gemini 😳. I think that explains a lot about this pregnancy so far. We’re three Gemini’s and a Scorpio, we’re all wonderful people 😉. That's a lot of personalities in one family 😉 I'm kidding, my BFF is a Gemini. I love them.

M has been horrible the past couple of days. I don't know what's gotten into her but she's not delightful. Well, I'm glad at least it's not just C! I don't know what the deal is, but MH and I are going to lose our minds. H too! She does things that she knows will make me upset, I swear.

So I have 7 kidney stones, too many for shockwave therapy so I'm having them removed by laser on Tuesday. I'm nervous because it's under general anesthesia and I never had that before. Will also have stents in my kidneys for 5 days. I need to find a place for an EKG and research how the anesthesia and other meds could affect breastfeeding and make arrangements for the kids on Tuesday. I don't have any information on anesthesia or other meds affecting breastfeeding, but my BIL just had this done recently. I'm really sorry you're having to do all of this.

kim22 Sorry that was the news you got. I'm not sure, can you take Xanax while BFing? I had my dr prescribe them before I had my tubal done, so I could sleep, I would recommend it, especially since you've never been under anesthesia. Anesthesia is absolutely nothing to worry about. My hospital give me a shot of lidocaine in the hand to numb it before putting the IV in, so that was the only thing I felt. They put the IV in, talked to me for a few minutes, I remember being the the OR, then waking up in recovery, no issues.

Thanks ladies. He gave me the option of shocking the 2 largest stones and waiting on the others but if I'm going to be put under anyway, I just want them all gone instead of risking having to go back again anyway. He's also running labs on why I have so many so hopefully I can avoid more in the future.

kim22 I’m so sorry, hope you can find the info concerning bf and the meds. If I have questions I always call my pharmacist and they either know or will research it for me.

Morning! I went straight from preschool drop-off for B to preschool registration with C. I hope I did the right thing...I had wanted B in 4-day 4’s (which runs T-F) and C to go one of those days, leaving me a day free. Of course, registration has been open to current families already (today was the first ‘public’ day) so the only spot available for C was on a Monday...completely defeating the purpose! So I ended up putting B in 5-day 4’s and taking the Monday spot for C. It’s silly to be disappointed bc I was debating 5 days for B and could see pros and cons to both, but decided having an open weekday would be nice to do other activities, meet up with friends, etc. TBH B will probably enjoy going 5 days/week, and if we were in FL he’d be doing 5-day VPK, so i guess I just need to get my mind right and adjust, lol. Is it all day or just mornings? You can still do things with friends and other activities in the afternoon if it’s just morning.

This Is Us was great, but I was an anxious mess by the end of it, and I don't know if I can watch the episode after the super bowl all at once.

Ugh kim22 I’m sorry. I hope they figure it out and get them gone! A few years ago my boss passed out/fell asleep while driving and ran off the road. He came on into work and was talking funny and was really out of it. I was worried he had a stroke or something. We finally convinced him to let us take him to the ER and his kidneys had started shutting down. Turns out he had 15 kidney stones and they were wreaking havoc on him. He was in the hospital for 2 weeks. They finally came to the determination that the main cause for the kidney stones was too much calcium...from the tums he was eating excessively. He chewed tobacco which gave him heartburn so he ate tuna like they were candy to alleviate the heartburn. He no longer chews tobacco or eats tums. Lol.

That sucks hard kim22. I wonder if this is related to the UTIs you had while you were still pregnant. I’m pretty sure you can breastfeed after general anesthesia. I hope this takes care of them for good.

Damn.
I eat TUMS every day when I'm pregnant. This whole convo is making me nervous. Maybe I need to switch back to papaya enzyme.

I told Cadence to wash her hands more. I was going to tell her why, but she cut me off and yelled, "GERMS!" I guess they have already been talking about it at school. S teacher is out with the flu. The teacher in the room attached to his is out with the flu, and I got an email last night that a kid in his class has the flu. S and I had a long chat this morning about extra hand washing. I am terrified.

kim22, I'm sorry, I hope it's quick and it doesn't impact breastfeeding for you! I eat tums all the time, no problems. My nephew had a ton of complications and my SIL insists that it was from Tums (this was 21 years ago) My crazy N13 is a Sag, not a scorpio. Then I have 2 leos (MH and B)... yikes!! re: playing together, usually S is so great w/ B, but lately he's been a bit... rude? like grabbing toys from him then throwing toys when we tell him to replace them. This just started a few days ago so hopefully it doesn't get worse.

J/K...I know exactly what ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) My family comes in pairs: two Leos, two Scorpios, two Capricorns...and the little Gemini on the way, which is pretty much two personalities in one. The crazy thing is that my Capricorns (H and Theo) were both born on New Years Day. The other crazy thing is that I also come from a family of pairs: two Leos and two Aquarius. Cue creepy cosmic music.

I think he's ready and will love it. And as my husband said, it's just preschool...if we want to pull him out for a day to do something if my H has a day off or whatever, so be it.

I think I took 2 tums my whole pregnancy and never take them otherwise. I recently remembered something I hadn't thought about in years. The day DS1 was born (he's now 10), I had horrible back pain all day. I happened to have an OB appointment that night, I was 36 weeks pregnant.. At the time, there were 2 doctors in the practice. I went to the appointment and the doctor in the office said I could be in labor but she suspected kidney stones. Baby was breech in a way that made cord prolapse possible so she sent me to L&D. I told them what the doctor said but they decided it was labor and I was taken for a csection. Never passed any stones that I noticed but I was on pain meds so who knows.
Fast forward to my N13 baby. At 33 weeks I head in for severe back pain. This time they do suspect kidneys and the rules on preterm delivery have changed. I had a kidney ultrasound but nothing was found. I was admitted for 3 days on IV antibiotics and they called it a kidney infection but all they ever found was an elevated white cell count. I have had many UTI's between then and now. I took the reports from the ones I had during this pregnancy to the urologist today. They were all different kinds of bacteria so not the same infection coming back.
It appears being pregnant with a boy is my issue. Didn't have this trouble with DD. Since I will never be pregnant again, hopefully this is the end of it.
