What’s up this week ladies? I feel like everyone is busy and we have lost a few ladies along the way but hopefully not!
The big milestone for us is actual naps and they are happening in the crib! I hope it continues. I need to tackle night sleep but poor M is really coughing and snotty. It seems worse than when I took her on Friday but maybe it’s peaking now. No fever or breathing trouble but it’s making nighttime sleep nonexistent and sucks because she is mostly in our bed so ugh.

Day 2 of sleep training was ok. Initially he only cried foe 5 minutes before falling asleep. He slept 730 to 1130. He would have slept longer but I got up to use the bathroom, ran into the dresser, and woke him up. He ate at 1130, cried for 3 minutes then slept 12 to 2. He whimpered, and babbled then slept 215 to 315. At 315 he wailed on and off for 30 minutes.he fell asleep then woke up at 4. I fed him at 4 then he slept 415 to 7.
So all and all 2nd night not too bad. A 4 hour stretch, a 3 hour stretch, and a 2 hour stretch. Plus besides 3am he went back to bed without much trouble. His naps yesterday wer e better too. I'll ask DH when I get home how today went but I got at text at 830 saying that he used the bathroom and showered alone so it must have gone well lol.

This week is crazy busy, and with the added uncertainty about the government shutdown our week is off to a rocky start. (DH is military.)
We are working on transitioning out of the swaddle and it is not going well at all. Plus, L scratched her eyelid really bad when she woke up from her last nap attempt. Her 4 month appt is tomorrow so that’ll look great for the doctor. Ugh to this Monday! I’m still in my pjs. 🤷🏻♀️

I am struggling getting back into the swing of things at work but N only woke up twice last night! I was so wiped out I went to bed immediately after putting him down at 9ish and he woke up at 1:30 and then 4:30 so I felt decent today. Only snuggled him in bed between the 1:30-4:30 feeds bc he’s still a little snotty and he cried each time I put him back in his crib at 1:30 and I was like fuxk it. Just snuggle with me. But he went to sleep easily with the paci after his 4:30 feed. Thank god.
DH is driving me crazy. We all have colds. I’ve slept in Ns room since Friday night. DH hasn’t had to do any nights at all bc he is being the biggest baby ever with a real man cold. Like dude. The flu was a month ago. This is a damn cold and I have the same damn thing and I’m up every night. So stfu. He got to huffy when I snapped at him to stop complaining this morning bc I’m sick too and has he heard me complain and not take care of N? NO! He got all offended. Ain’t nobody got time for that!!! 🙄😒
Losing track of what day is it. It’s either a “do I work or not” Day. Woof. Today is my long day at work and my third day in a row. Not a fan. So tired. Coffee with lots of sugar and French vanilla creamer is a godsend.

I'm laughing at all the coffee. Dh brings j to my work everyday with a coffee for me. Some days j is sleeping and some he is up but it's nice to get a peek at him. I work 13 minutes from our house and we live in a pretty rural place so there's never any traffic.
Also, j skin is so bad. His face is a mess and looks and painful. He has now scratched it open and it's bleeding.

Good luck with sleeping everyone, none of that is happening at my house. I got back from my trip and everyone was sick. Of course I got it too so now they are almost better and I am on my ass.
But J is now onto puree food so that is fun, and he rolls himself all over the floor. He is trying to crawl but still is not quite strong enough. God help us when they both are mobile!

jt2378 that’s great about naps! It gives me hope! Lol I’m sorry to hear about the congestion! This winter has been brutal! I’m so over the sickness! king26 it sounds like it’s going well. Sleep training is never perfect, but it seems you are sticking to it which will make go so much quicker! I am so ready for night weaning and sleep training!

addymac plus 1 here for a husband who is practically dying when sick. It reminds of this viral video on Facebook about this lady and her husband. It’s so true what they say about man colds. I fear the day he should ever get the flu, I may have draft up our wills. 🙄

I can’t believe this is the last full week of January! H slept really good last night, I actually checked on him. He rolled to his belly and that’s how he slept all night. I’m hoping it wasn’t a one-off, but have a feeling he will up to his normal shananigins (sp) tonight.. sigh
The toddler has a rough day. He is the sweetest boy, but man sometimes he has selective hearing and listening skills!
I just signed up both boys for swimming. The toddler is continuing his lessons and rankings and H is just getting started! We have a boat and are water rats so the boys knowing how to swim is a must!

cwbh928 oh fun to swim classes! One of my coworkers just told me they opened enrollment for the spring at our park district and I’m tempted to enroll N but my work schedule is always changing so idk if there’s a point. Idk if the nanny would want to take him. And also *i* want to do things w him, ya know? We’re going to FL to my MILs in two weeks and I’m so excited to put him in the pool! Q: does anyone know should I just get the huggies disposable swim diapers or the reusable ones off amazon? How do these things work? Also, N will be 5 1/2 months old- would it really be an issue to put sunscreen on him? He’s so close to 6mo and that’s when you can start, right? Like is two weeks going to magically make a difference??

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been MIA, so much going on with my grandpa's stuff. I'm the executor of his estate so I have a ton to do. I've been trying to keep up and LTing things whenever I can! MH and I had our first overnight away from M on Sunday. A friend of mine works at a fancy hotel and for our baby shower she gave us a one night stay there. It was fabulous but I missed M so much. But my mom watched her and it went great and they had fun. Nothing really much else to report on the baby front. She seems to be over her sleep regression and back to only one wake up at night around 3 or 4 a.m. Naps however, have not been great. Partially because I've been dragging her all over with me trying to get stuff done. MH is off work this week so I'm hoping we can get her back into somewhat of a schedule. We're also trying to do some major organization and decluttering this week. Wish me luck!

cwbh928, I was looking into.swimming lessons too! Let us know how H likes it! addymac, FL sounds awesome right now! I'd think he's close enough to 6 months that sunscreen would be ok, but maybe check with the pedi? king26, I'm so glad sleep training seems to be going ok. That's sweet that yh and J bring you coffee every day. jt2378, my M sleeps on her side too but she gets pissed if she rolls on her belly. I hope your M starts feeling better soon. pennylane, this govt shut down is BS! I'm sorry you're affected, that's got to be stressful. I hope they sort it out soon. Let us know how the appointment goes!

I would just grab the disposables probably addymac. FL sounds so nice right now! I also would think sunscreen is fine. cali, nice to see you back! Your overnight sounds so nice! Your M is sleeping like a champ. I wish mine would get with the program ugh.

addymac I would say disposable ones are good. Use and be done with, plus they hold up good. Also I would say sunscreen then shouldn’t be an issue. When DS1 was 5 months old we got our boat and the pedi said it was okay to start. I used babyganics.

addymac, I'm sure you know this, but I didn't know this so I am sharing: the swim diapers won't hold urine completely, so be sure to put them on right before he swims and take them off right after. I left one on DS1 once, not knowing and it leaked terribly. cwbh928 Also interested in hearing how the swim lessons go. I've been thinking about that too. cali Sorry again for your loss and good luck with executing the will. That sounds like alot of stress. jt2378 I wish baby H would sleep on his belly bc I feel like he'd sleep better there, but he always gets mad and I have to rescue him

Sleep training night 3 was a success. He bawled when I put him down but was asleep in 2 minutes. He slept 5 hours, woke to eat, slept 3.5 hours, woke to eat, then slept 2 hours. Everyone got a good night sleep. I'm hoping for a repeat tonight. Plus we are putting him down at 730 so we are getting from 730 to 9 to get stuff done around the house.
Naps will be next as they are still all over the place However I think we are officially down to 4 naps which is where we want to be.

Getting M to sleep last night was quite and ordeal. We started the process around 8:15 and she didn't fall asleep until almost 11!! Wtf?? On the plus side, once she was asleep she was out. She skipped her normal 4am wake up and it's almost 7:30 and she's still asleep! It would have been awesome if I haven't been up every 15 minutes since about 3:30 checking on her (because I'm a paranoid psycho) and waiting for her to wake up like she always does!

In fact, I keep her pack n play next to my bed within arm's reach so I can put my hand on her chest without getting out of bed.

Things have been the same with us sleep wise. R wakes at least once and I put the paci in until she falls back asleep. Then between 4-4:30am she wakes up and then sleeps on my chest until 6-6:30am. She’s now in the pack and play in our room to sleep.
Her schedule seems to put her to bed 5-6pm. Tonight she went down for what I hoped was a nap in the crib, but so far it’s been two hours. I think I might just leave her until she wakes on her own tonight - see how that goes.
I’m dealing with a head cold and I’m pretty sure we started the fifth leap a few days ago or so.

Today sucks. Ended up at the pedi first thing with the toddler. Cough and fever out of nowhere. The flu swab was negative thankfully but she spiked 103 temp when we got home. She is acting ok though.
M proceeded to projectile vomit all over me and herself right before dinner. She never puked before, I hope it’s just from her cough.
I now have nowhere to put her down to sleep at night. She lasts maybe an hour in the RnP and I can’t sleep train in the crib with her sick so basically I’m screwed with cosleeping and feeling really touched out. We are heading into leap 5 too ugh.

Yeah one reason I had to move j to the crib was because he wouldn't sleep in the pnp anymore and only wanted to sleep with us and I was touched out. I miss him being in our room but all 3 of us are sleeping so much better now.
