I talked about starting this thread last week and never did it. Several of you commented that you need something to keep you motivated as well. So hopefully this will help several of us! As I mentioned last week, I weighed myself and weigh what I did when I was pregnant. None of my clothes fit comfortably. Energy is pretty much non-existent. wineallthetime sent me her challenge questions from the one she participated in last fall. I typed it up into a spreadsheet that I will send to the controller of my company weekly. She used to be a professional body builder, runs a lot, is in great health, so she will hold me accountable in person. Below are the questions that I'm answering weekly, so I thought we could incorporate them here too. Did you deviate from your diet this week? If yes, why? On a scale of 1-10, what is your motivation level? How many days did you work out last week? How many days do you plan to work out next week? What are your hurdles for dieting and exercising? That isn't part of my spreadsheet, but I think having someone else help you with ideas might help? Anything else we should discuss?

I'll put the answers to the questions I'm sending this week:
Did you deviate from your diet this week? Yes If yes, why? Drank too much wine watching football On a scale of 1-10, what is your motivation level? 10 How many days did you work out last week? 3 How many days do you plan to work out next week? 4-5
My fitness pal told me to eat 1200 calories a day to lose the weight I want to (2 lbs a week). That shit is HARD! But I've been doing pretty good, if I go over, I'm only going over ~200 calories. This week I can control it easily, with H being out of town. I made it to the gym yesterday, so I have one of my workouts out of the way already.

Oh, and water. I'm drinking So. Much. Water.
My goal is to drink 8oz when I first wake up, 16oz an hour later, 8 oz after a cup of coffee, 8oz 20 minutes before each meal, 16oz 2 hours before bed. Plus the water bottle that sits on my desk (28oz), drink one of those every 2 hours.
Holy shit, I spend so much time in the bathroom!

You got this, mwhip! My tainers always say to drink 1/2 your body weight in water. I drink a ton of water anyway and am always in the bathroom. One thing that helped me was planning meals that were wasy to adapt for MH and I. So like tacos. I'd make mine into a big salad and he'd put his in a taco shells. Or we'd do eggs and a bunch of sauteed veggies, he could easily add toast to his. I also did a crockpot of shredded chicken a lot and I'd make salads and he'd add his to a sandwich, pasta, ect. We both ended up loving zucchini noodles as well!

Meal planning is big for me too. I like the idea of making a bunch of chicken to use throughout the week, I bought some chicken breasts on sale this weekend, I should do that! Thanks for the tip! Tell me about zoodles. Did you make them yourself or buy them? I'm a carb addict, so I've been trying to not eat many. If you made them yourself, what did you use?

I think I've only made them once or twice, but maybe the next time I run to the grocery store I'll pick up prepackaged zucchini spirals. There's a chickpea pasta that is just chickpeas and water, and I think it's incredible.

I bought a $7 spiralizer on amazon. I pat them dry, and saute with olive oil and garlic. Then just use in place of pasta. It's definitely not the same, but I like them alot.

I bought a super cheapo spiralizer on Amazon as well. They're good with a spicy shrimp cooked with them. The trick with the zoodles is to just cook them for a minute or two so they don't get mushy! mwhip guster

When limiting carbs I also go through sooo many cucumbers! Either the little pickled cucumbers, or whatever they're called, or English cucumbers. Perfect to dip in Greek yogurt or Walden Farms 0 calorie dressing or the Bolthouse yogurt dressings.

Otherwise, your child will see green on some of the noodles and flat out refuse them even though their favorite food right now is spinach artichoke ravioli which is green! ....I mean, hypothetically, this will be what happens....

Ok I'm here. Thanks for starting this mwhip . I weighed myself this morning and could stand to lose about 15lbs. 20 would be amazing, but I'm starting with 15. I'm going to be on 1500 calories per day, 1200 is way to little for me, I end up super hungry and gorging. Maybe I'll try 1200 later but for now it's 1500. My plan is to eat like I did with JC, since it was all food based and really worked for me. Breakfast: multigrain cereal, milk, banana, with coffee/milk with Truvia sweetner Snack(10.30am): nutrition bar aprox 200 calories Lunch: frozen meal, or chicken snack with tons of veggies and low fat dip and a diet coke to drink Snack: low fat yogurt with fruit Dinner: with family but way less carbs and half my plate with veggies Snack: usually an apple then about 2 cups of the Boom Chicka-Pop popcorn

But I'm super lazy, so we buy them from the grocery store. I usually make them with spaghetti because I need some carbs, and because S won't eat them. But I'll do like 80/20 zoodle to noodle ratio. and usually make a ground turkey sauce with other veggies in it so it's super filling and I barely notice the missing noddles. And I'm a super carb addict.

I've got 8.4 #'s to lose until goal weight so I need to buckle down. Today I am back to my usual meals: - wake up wrap from dunkins (180 cals) with a coffee and skim milk (20cals) - 2oz of sliced honey ham, 1 serving of turkey pepperoni, 5 slices of cheese, 16 crackers (~400 cals) - egg beater omelet with turkey bacon for dinner. If I feel I need a carb I'll do a Lenders frozen bagel which is 1/2 the carbs big Thomas' ones. (~300-400cals)
I am trying to keep it loosely under 1000 per day, which is recommended at this point post op.

I made it to the gym, even after drinking too much last night. I thought I might die on the treadmill, but I didn't. I'm now eating a weight watchers meal, which I know isn't the best because of sodium, but it's easy. wedding your lunch sounds good a protein filled. I'm going to have to try that.

I need this. I've been saying it for too long, but I'm ready to get serious. I think by deciding to push back baby making for a year, I'm more motivated to try and get in shape. I want a decent bikini body by this summer.
I just finished the fit test for Insanity. I've had the discs for years and never really done the program. My acid reflux was terrible during it which I know is because of drinking. Of course, I'm missing the disc for day 1 so I'm going to have to search for that or do a different workout.
I also took before pics and measurements.

I’m so here for this, but I’m going to give myself about two weeks before I start any sort of exercise or watching my food too seriously.
I’m very active and I genuinely enjoy the gym, so once I get back that parts easy for me. Drinking is definitely my biggest vice. I usually do ok with diet, but I focus more on controlling my portions, because I love food and if I deprive myself I end up binging. I think I’ve told you guys before I’ve suffered from some ed behavior in the past so I need to focus on how I feel and look and not the numbers on the scale, because those can send me spiraling sometimes.

My goal this week is to eat something every three hours (alternating snack and meal), no take out, no Starbucks except for black coffee or espresso, and no sugar except for what's natural in food. ETA: Just thinking about this now, and I tend to have more troubles on the weekend, so I think I might make one set of goals for the week and another set for the weekend. They wouldn't be that far off from each other, but if I have two sets of rules I won't feel as overwhelmed that I'm destroying my plan on the weekends. I know consistency is typically key, but I should try this for two weeks to see if it works for me.
