Just finished feeding the baby and then pumping for 30 minutes. Now I need to figure out how to wind back down to get a little more sleep. DH leaves for Vegas tomorrow morning and gets back Thursday. Luckily his sister flew in to help me with the toddler. I’m glad to have her here but also feel like I need to entertain her even though all I want to do is relax

I’m glad to have her here but also feel like I need to entertain her even though all I want to do is relax I think she's going to understand that you're still recovering and won't care about being entertained. She came to help you.

In general I’m not a super squeamish person, but DD4s cord thing is on the verge of falling off and it’s completely grossing me out. Lol. I’m paranoid every time I have to change her diaper. I look forward to it not being there any more but this whole slightly gooey crusty thing just barely hanging on, blech.

The midnight shenanigans are in full effect here. Thankfully MH did the last feeding so that could sleep.

I’m being tag teamed, alternating fussiness equals no sleep between feeds. Boooo

Ugh I can't sleep. Anxious about the induction tomorrow and having some *ahem* gastrointestinal distress. Better now than while in labor I guess 😂 I will probably be all up in this thread tomorrow too, I am due to start Cervadil in the evening and last time I had that with my induction I didn't get a wink of sleep. Sending sleep vibes to everyone else!

Blehhh. DS is sleeping well (in our room all night for the first time) but he is a bear to wake haha. Like the room could be burning down with explosions & the boy won’t wake up lol.

Woke up to feed baby and could tell lights were on/people were awake. DH has been sleeping in the basement so he could get sleep, so I texted him. Apparently DD1 is throwing up everywhere. She shares a room (and bed) with DD2 so it’s only a matter of time I’m sure. He essentially doesn’t want me to come out of our bedroom or help. I feel so bad.

DH just left for the airport and the baby is up. I’ve been up for 2 hours now and would love a little more sleep before the toddler gets up.

peachesncream, my friend had the same GI distress before her induction. She was pretty anxious before it. On the other hand, since that is a symptom of early labor, she wondered if maybe her body was already starting the process. Her induction went VERY fast (only like 2.5 hours from when they started the whole thing until when her LO was delivered!).

I attempted to put little man in his bassinet. Lol nope not yet. I’m giving it some more time and hopefully he will lay down. He is asleep in my arms but wakes up when I transfer him. His belly is full and his diaper is clean so there is no reason for him to stay awake...at least I hope.

My nurse is convinced I will have a MOTN baby. I hope she is right!! Then I will have time to shower and rest before visitors. That has never happened before!

I’m about to jinx myself but by some miracle I got both boys down, pumped, and am on bed by ten thirty. If all goes well I’ll be able to get a about an hour and a half before I need to wake them up for their next feeds. 🤞

I’m going to attempt to put baby in the bassinet instead of the rock n play tonight. I anticipate it lasting about three minutes before I throw in the towel and stick her back in the RnP.

Pumping here. When I finish I need to prepare MOTN bottles and then I can go to sleep. Fx we don’t have a repeat of last night, where the toddler was up more than the baby.

I’m up feeding him. After I finally got him to sleep, I knocked out too. This is actually his first wake up tonight.

I woke up about 40 minutes ago and shut off my 3 am alarm and said I'll just pump when baby wakes up. He woke up at 2:55. Boo. Hopefully he's asleep before I get back upstairs.

Now we play a game. Do I move the baby downstairs so I can get the stuff I need to get done before I G up for school and risk waking him up. Or do I leave him upstairs and get my stuff done knowing that I will probably have to feed him and wake G up and get her ready at the same time. Ugh. I think I’m going to get stuff ready, come up and get him after and hope for the best.

So last night was awful. Baby is super fussy and is constantly moving. Not sure if it’s had or colic? DD1 didn’t have colic so I don’t know what the signs are. She was up every hour to hour and a half fussing about something. With DH gone I didn’t really want his sister to stay in my room with me but I may have to if she doesn’t sleep again tonight. And DH’s sister is annoying the shit out of me. The way she says things makes it seem like she thinks she knows better than me when she’s never taken care of a newborn for more than an hour. Sorry lack of sleep has me even more annoyed and ready for DH to come home.

marygracerich isn’t that how it always happens? Lol. sarahh I’m sorry it was so rough. I believe colic is defined as 3+ hours of inconsolable crying a day or something like that. DD3 had colic. If she wasn’t asleep or nursing she was usually crying. It sucked a lot. But maybe baby is struggling with gas, or any signs of reflux?

She cries a lot but usually settles if I hold her while standing and bounce her around a little so probably not colic. I have a feeling it’s gas. She doesn’t spit up at all from either breast milk or formula. DD1 didn’t have gas issues but we had gripe water that we didn’t end up using. Is that what you’re supposed to use for gas? How do you use it?
