dragonflyinn the worst. My husband is lucky I don’t beat the crap out of him while I’m nursing and he’s just sleeping away. Lol.

Why is it that I can’t keep her awake for anything during the day, but come 10pm her eyes won’t close? Babies. Adorable little torture devices.

1:45am. We’ve been up since 10. Sounds like our babes are all conspiring together. We’re in a vicious poop eat cry cycle.

If he is fed anytime between 10-12 at night, it takes him at least and hour and a half to fall asleep. All I want to do is go to bed and he is all nope, nope, nope.

I really really hate waking to an alarm to pump. I think I'm going to switch and only pump when he wakes up. My supply is tanking so I know this is a risky idea but my sleep is more important.

E is such a calm and sleepy baby, which is great! Except I feel like i’m getting engorged and want her to nurse more, but she just wants to sleep.*
*Sleep on me, not in her bassinet, lest anyone get confused and I think I was getting sleep too. 😅

I’m up for the day. I have already showered and now I’m feeding the baby. I got some sleep but not nearly as much as I want.

I finally woke DH up at 5am so I could sleep for a bit before he had to leave for work. That was hell.

I’m up pumping. What I wouldn’t give for a more than 2 hour stretch of sleep. I wish I had taken more notes with DD1 because I don’t remember when she started to give me later stretches. I feel like it’s soon though.

Hi y’all. My mom is an angel & has DS in her room so I can actually rest between feedings. He is a noisy burper & pooper so it’s hard to actually fall back asleep after I feed him & H doesn’t realize he needs to try more than 5 minutes to soothe his kid lol. Anyway I got a 2 hr stretch & a 3 hr stretch! Just woke up to go feed him & he is passed out so we’re waiting another half hour.
Side note: how do you get your husband to realize he needs to do more MOTN? Lol. He is so helpful in all other areas but that one hahaZ

What I'm currently researching... when can I drop MOTN pump sessions without severely impacting my supply? I'm so lucky DH will feed him while I pump.

Thank goodness I’ve actually gotten a little bit of sleep tonight. Not any long stretches, but more than I got last night. Hoping she goes back to sleep one more time for me! dragonflyinn you’re going to have to be very straightforward and just ask for help. DH is a willing helper, but only with specific instructions. He also doesn’t wake easily so with nursing and that, I’ve just given up on him helping me in the middle of the night.

MH took today off work so he had mercy on me last night and I got some extra sleep. I went to bed at 9:30. He fed the baby at 11 and came to bed at by 11:30. Unfortunately little man wouldn’t go back to sleep until 1 so I stayed up with him since I had already slept for awhile. After I finally got him to sleep, he woke up at 3 to eat. He thankfully fell right back to sleep by 3:30 and slept until 6. I feel almost human because I slept a bit. dragonflyinn I think you need to be very clear about what he needs to do to help you. That’s the only way most men know how to do stuff. I will say that on the days that MH works, I don’t ask him to help me. He drives for a living and needs to get a good amount of sleep. I don’t know if I am the best person for giving advice because of that. Lol.

He always lays there in bed & asks “do you need help” lol yes I needed it before I got out of bed, I needed YOU to get up out of bed before I did! lol. Last night he got pissy bc I told him he was being slow (he was) & he couldn’t find anything so he kept asking me what to do & where everything was. While S was screaming. This is the time I’m supposed to be resting, not helping you do a basic diaper change!

marygracerich H is a pilot so same situation— he NEEDS sleep. When DD was born he was at a point in his training where he was flying daily so he didn’t even sleep in our room most nights she was brand new. So I think he is used to or assumes that I will carry the load. Only now that he isn’t in training & not flying daily, he needs to do more. I think he feels like the precedent has been set though & bc he didn’t do much with DD MOTN, he feels super inadequate. Like last night just sort of stood there changing S’s diaper like a sloth while the kid is crying. Lol

My H tried to help but he gives up really easy and decided he must be hungry and gives him to me. The big downside of EBF.

It helped tremendously when I had an LC come to the house to work with us and she managed to convince DH that he could try to soothe DS and no, DS did NOT always just need the boob. DH really needed to hear it from someone else besides me.

It’s Ian’s night time shenanigans time. Let’s see how long it takes before I can put him down to sleep. Usually it’s at least an hour

jessijean I think it may be too early for you to drop a pump session. I would wait 2 weeks.

The boy and I are up for a feeding. I finished my book. I have to look for a new one but I’m unsure if I am awake enough to do so now.

Never mind. I decided to try the outlander series. I started book one but little man may actually fall asleep which is my cue to do the same.

I'm up a hour before I intended to be. DS2 just pooped all over DHs hand mid diaper change. That was fun to deal with MOTN. I was just glad it wasn't me!! I got them cleaned up and now doing my pumping. Hope everyone is getting some rest.

I’ve been up for 2 hours now. Fed baby, pumped and now am waiting for her to fall asleep. She hates a swaddle and kicks around a lot before settling down especially in her bassinet so she’s currently on her boppy and I’m waiting to transfer her.
So I am not a good napper so haven’t been sleeping when baby sleeps like they say. Instead I fall asleep early at like 8 then muscle through the middle of the night wake ups. Any tips for taking naps? We have blackout shades already. I think my issue is that my mind is always racing so it’s hard for me to really relax during the day.

sarahh I’m no help. I’m a horrible napper. I need to start trying to take one though. Baby girl just magically slept four hours straight. Nobody tell my pediatrician. Lol. He wanted me to wake her every three hours until our weight check on Tuesday, but I’ve heard that for three babies now, none of them have struggled to gain weight, and DD3 gained 4 pounds in 5 weeks. I’m fairly confident she’ll be fine. Would love love love to get more long stretches of sleep like that! I did wake up with a pretty horrible headache though. Bummer.
