Hope all the sick littles are feeling better today.
What’s new?

Today is roof day! They delivered the dumpster yesterday and rang the bell at 7 on the dot this morning to ensure they were at the correct house before starting to rip the roof off 😬
So needless to say, it’s a bit loud around here; I think we’ll take a drive and grab some breakfast so C can get a car nap later this morning.

Yay for new roof flamingo! Hopefully they seal everything up so no possibility of critters in the walls! It was 45 when I left my house and 31 when I got to work. It's pouring rain outside, I can hear it on our roof. Anything that has been used to treat the roads, is washed away. Should make for an interesting drive home. I'm thinking about using 1/2 day vacation just to get out of here early so that my dad and step mom can get home before rush hour.

I wonder if they've ever gotten the wrong roof.. Lol. My brother just replaced the roof on his new house, old house, his mom's house and her barn. He hired a 4 man crew and they got all 4 done in 2 days. We were all in awe.

It is definitely a skill, as my husband learned the hard way when he attempted to replace our garage roof himself last spring.

Good morning. I’m at home with O until i drop him off at school at 9:30. Then off to work.
I’m really busy right now at work and juggling a lot of different things. I think i need to make another list because i have that sinking feeling that i might forget something important and time sensitive.

I have heard news stories of roofing companies taking the roof off the wrong house, then the homeowner has to fight to get a new roof put on. I know it happened at least once in KC last summer. The homeowners had to call the local news people to do the story to fight with the roofing company. It took a few weeks before their roof was replaced.

(Although obviously not as bad as losing the wrong arm!)

Omg mwhip that’s crazy! How that company thought they had a leg to stand on (not Replacing the roof) is beyond me.

I took the boys to the sitters. A and I didn't agree on if they should go. I think M needed another rest day at home. He barely ate yesterday and was just kind of foggy. But A thought being with the kids would perk him up faster and he would eat more if everyone else was eating. He smirked at his sitter and asked for cheerios so I guess he was right. I told her to call me if he was miserable or she thought he was getting exhausted.. I'm going to worry all day.

Hope there's a new roof by the day's end, flamingo. Today is the first day this week that we have had absolutely no one here, and I'm relishing in it by letting my children binge watch TV while I sit with coffee and my phone. We leave for dance at 10:30 and then we have preschool.

She was terrified they would take the wrong one.

Omg mwhip that’s crazy! How that company thought they had a leg to stand on (not Replacing the roof) is beyond me. I don't remember the entire story, but the roofing company wanted the homeowner to pay for part of the new roof. The homeowner (rightfully) said no because they didn't request a new roof, but since the roofing company took theirs off, they needed to replace it. I think it was after some big storms we had when a lot of people were getting new roofs and there were many fly by night 'companies' in the area.

GM everybody. flamingo, I hope you get the correct roof! I had not idea there was so much possible confusion w roofing. 🤔 Afm, I have an appt this afternoon. I’m finally going to see someone about my fear of flying.

fox4kc.com/2016/04/19/woman-left-without-a-roof-on-april-fools-day-says-it-was-no-laughing-matter/I clearly don't feel like working and found the story. So the roofing company took the roof off a house on 90th Street, but should have done it on a house on 90th Terrace. The homeowner found the roofer and they admitted they had removed her roof. She then requested architectural shingles, which would have added cost and the roofer refused. So she wanted the roofing company to give her the money to have another roofing company finish the work.

Morning. My goofs dance partied last night to Shut up and Dance maybe 8 times in a row. They were proud of their moves.

It’s a newish fear and I hate it and don’t know where it came from. It’s not like I don’t fly regularly, (4-6x a year before kids, prolly more like 2-3x a year now) so it seems bizarre that it’s sprung up w no real cause. I’m finding that I have more and more anxiety every time I fly. Before we left on our Disney trip in Nov, I found myself getting anxious about it during the days leading up to it. I had to draw a line there. That was the point for me that I felt I needed to take charge of it and try to manage this fear.

I think it's great that you're doing something about it, @yummeex. I totally understand it being a new fear. Having kids can open up a a whole new world of anxiety.

Cadence came to my bed at some point, not sure what time it was. She said she had a bad dream. I told her not to pee in my bed and we both went back to sleep. When I got her up this morning she asked where we were going. I told her she was going to school. She said, "fine, but I'm not sharing today." Yesterday one of the attorneys told the office manager that his wife has the flu, but that they are staying in opposite ends of the house so that he doesn't catch it. He just emailed in sick for the day. He likely spread the flu to all of us here in the office yesterday. Joy.

Apparently he told her that he was trying to stay away from everyone in the office yesterday. Dude, you were in my office TWICE and I had to go in your office to give you things several times and one of those times you had like 3 other attorneys in your office. You weren't staying away from anyone!

I also came to work to find a 100 page opinion for me to read on my desk. Not how I wanted to start my morning.

X slept until 7! If he can start doing that again consistently, I'll feel like a brand new woman.
Groundhog Day: work and trying to de clutter the house little by little.
X is moving to the toddler room in 6 weeks and he can't have bottles. We're no closer to getting rid of them than we were the day he was born. He sees a sippy with milk, screams NO, and throws it across the room.
So that's fun.

When my grandma went in for her mastectomy she sharpied which boob they were to cut out of lol. She was terrified they would take the wrong one. For each of Sierra’s brain surgeries the surgeon came in beforehand and gave us the run down of what to expect, discussed placement of shunt, which side, and marked on her scalp with a blue permanent marker where he would cut. He then had us initial on her head next to his mark, then he initiated by it. Said it was so everyone was in agreement and can’t come back later and say they did it in the wrong place.
