My first was never sick and this poor baby 5 times already ugh It must be a combination of age and time of year? I’m guessing if they were 5 months in the summer we’d have less of an issue. My other is a September baby so 🤷🏻♀️ I think it’s from her starting preschool and constantly bringing germs home. DD1 was never exposed early on. BUILDING UP IMMUNITY right? 😂

Being back at work on nights is kicking my ass and I’m sleep deprived and missing my child so much. So glad I’m moving to day shift next week. I’ll be able to participate more again and hopefully have better sleep. I miss y’all and my DH is struggling hard some nights with N. I feel crappy that I’m not around to help him in the motn and I’m stuck at work but.... that’s life I guess 😔

Hugs addymac. I hope it gets easier soon. I can't wait for spring when it's warmer and everyone isn't sick. Baby h was up coughing like every two hours last night and the rest of us have it too. I almost gave him zarbees baby cough medicine, but it makes me nervous bc he's never had anything but breast milk and formula.

Yeah some people claim they really shouldn’t have cough medicine before like 4 but I did give it to my first but not till like 2. Who knows

Well I'm trying a new plan of attack tonigjt. Usually I wait until j has been sleeping for 4 hours to feed him but he gets up several times. Tonight he woke after 3 hours so I fed him. I'm hoping this makes him sleep for a few more hours before I feed him again. Fingers crossed.

I hope you got better sleep tonight @king 26.
This winter cold is so frustrating I was so looking forward to baby h being done with the 4th leap and hopefully having better sleep but this cold has ruined that. He's been awake since 3,: all congested. I've tried steam from the shower, the nose Frida, walking, rocking, bottle of breast milk. He's finally settled and I managed not to wake him with my own coughing fit.

She doesn’t cough much at all during the day so I don’t think she needs to see the pedi but it’s so frustrating ugh. I hope he feels better soon

Add me to the coughing baby club!
A had her 6 month ped apt today. She had shots which she tolerated well. She is only in the 4% at 12lb 14oz. But ped is happy she is growing so that's good. She gained less than half a pound since last month but she was sick this week.

Hey all! Just wanted to pop by and say hi. I have been so busy and overwhelmed that I took a nosedive downwards the ppd spiral so it feels and I am just barely managing daily life stuff. D. is doing great though. The pedi was very happy woth her growth etc on Monday. She stopped STTN and we now have 2 wake ups a night which is a readjustment lol! but at least I don't have to set ny alarm for a MOTN pumping session no more! Much rather nurse then pump heh. And I think she may be teething? Speaking of teeth MH hasnt been feeling well with a jaw infection. So I have been soloing D a ton even when he was home. Sometimes I think I have 2 kids lol! He saw the dentist today and has been referred to a specialist at the hospital ugh. Hopefully we can get an appointment soon. Even tho I am feeling really depressed still I do notice a positive change now that I am on meds. Also started therapy last week. Baby steps. I cant wait to feel a bit better again.... life is tough right now. Miss you all !

Hang in there lady. They may need to adjust your dose. I felt better on meds but after 3 weeks they adjusted them and then after another week I was back to myself. Don't be afraid to ask for an adjustment. My best advice is stay off google. I went down the ppa googling hole and it suvked. Big hugs to you, I'm glad D is doing well and gaining weight, and boo to sucky sleeping. You can join that club with many of us!

Hugs muscari! I hope things are better soon. Sounds like you are doing a great job with baby D. I agree it's much nicer to nurse at night than to pump! We are all getting over a cold that dh took two days off work for. This winter sickness really needs to end. I'm counting down the days to spring. Baby H rolled from back to front at daycare. He's so funny bc he loves to chew on things and he will get where he's frantically trying to stuff the whole toy in his mouth and that's when he usually rolls. Ds1 starts soccer tomorrow (indoors), his first group sport!! He is usually super shy around kids he doesn't know so I have fingers crossed that he will have a good time rather than clinging to my leg the whole time. I'm really hoping for some sleep tonight, but we shall see.

I'm really struggling with sleep . I'm so exhausted. He is waking up every 2 to 3 hours at night and I don't know how to make it better.

This night already sucks. I setup the cosleeper again since I want to get her out of the RnP and she lasted 1 hour on her first stretch. I tried putting her down just now and total fail 😞 I feel like crying. Those who BF, how do you not nurse your babies to sleep? M is getting worse and worse just wanting to be attached to me all night. It’s so tiring and I have no idea how to change it.

jt2378 Sorry it's so difficult right now. Sleep really makes all the difference. I don't have great advice bc mine is nursing to sleep, but tonight he woke up every three hours. If it's more frequent than that, I try to rock and comfort him without nursing and put back down with the paci. I don't know if yours takes a paci. My first never did, and it has really made a positive difference with this one for self soothing. As far as bedtime initially, I have not done as much as I should to break the nurse to sleep association. I have started giving a bottle too, so I might start by ending the routine with the bottle and then moving the feeding earlier in the routine. But if he randomly falls asleep nursing at bedtime, I'm sure as hell not waking him up. Last night, he went to bed nicely and then the three year old went into the nursery and poked him until he woke up (crazy little dictator). It then took 2.5 hours to put him back down (just in case that makes you feel better). I was also thinking that maybe yours is going through a growth spurt. Hope it better soon, and I have no idea why this is so long, lol.

jt2378, I try to stick the paci in his mouth and “shush” him until he’s asleep again. I try my absolute hardest not to pick him up unless I’ll nurse him. It’s so hard, I keep thinking it’ll click somehow with him, but every night it’s the same. I’m so, so over it. Big hugs to you, I wish these A17 babies would just sleep!

Thanks ladies, I realized I never answered about the paci, she will not take it. I just still keep trying though lol Oh bummer. I’m sure you’ve tried to put your hand on her chest and just shush her until she stops crying? Even tho A is still in the room with me, I let him fuss/cry a little until he either settles down, or I do my routine to get him back down. It sucks, but at least once a night he’ll jist go back to sleep. I just realized that I haven’t slept longer than 3 hours in a row for almost 6 months. I could cry. 😪

I’m still swaddling A because he moves so much, he wakes himself up. So I can’t even think to move him to his own crib in the nursery until he’s arms free.

Solidarity ladies. This sleep stuff sucks. I think we are going to try to add keep train when he hits 5 months. It's going to hurt but we are losing it. He slept two 3 hour stretches last night and I thought that was great.

About twice a night I can stick j bink in his mouth and shush him to sleep. I'm losing it because we had a month where he slept a 6 hour stretch and then it all fell apart at 4 months. Now he eats twice a night and usually is up but can be shushed 2 or 3 times a night.

R gives me an 8-9 hour stretch. But, she’s up at like 4am. She’ll sleep two more hours on my chest, but it’s not good sleep for me. If she wakes before 4, then I try the paci and don’t pick her up until after 4. I’m at a loss what to do, since I didn’t have this problem with T. R is 5 months today and I keep trying to tell myself eventually it’s got to get better. Her naps aren’t consistent lengths yet, either. It’s consistent that she’ll nap 1.5-2 hours after waking.

king26, are you planning on sleep training him in his room in the crib? I feel like I keep saying I want to sleep train but don’t want to bother till she is out of my room. She despises the crib all together soooooo I have no idea how that will happen. bsouls, that first stretch your getting is so nice though, I’m jealous! I miss those days. M is 5 months today too, I didn’t realize they were birthday twins 😀
