The Trying to Conceive After a Loss thread is posted once a week (generally on Tuesday) for those of us who have unfortunately experienced a loss. No matter what type of loss you've experienced, from miscarriage to stillbirth to the loss of a child, it is heartbreaking. This thread is to help us commiserate, get support, and to try to navigate trying to conceive, after a loss, every week.
Out of respect to all the ladies here, please add a trigger warning if you decide to talk about any living children and please hide your signature if it contains pictures or tickers of babies or children. We also kindly ask for grads to refrain from commenting in this thread.
If you get a BFP, kindly either spoiler alert it or do not post it here at all.
**If this is your first check-in, and you would like to provide a gtky loss history intro go for it. If not, no worries!**
How are you doing?

How are you doing? Doing alright today. M and I talked, and we are going to work together to connect more emotionally. I think it will help some other things fall into place. We haven't really been great at handling things together since we are both used to taking care of ourselves.
Status (TTA, TTC, Benched): TTC
Diagnosis (if applicable): IR PCOS
Updates/questions: Nothing really, just waiting to see what happens with this cycle. Yesterday was my birthday so I'm noticing more and more how quickly time is flying. I'm trying not to focus on it, but sometimes that's difficult.
Debbie downer (a place to vent ) : Nothing today. I'm pretty decent.
How are you ladies doing? I hope you are well!

How are you doing? OK I think. Feeling optimistic about the coming cycle.
Status (TTA, TTC, Benched): TTC
Diagnosis (if applicable): NA
Updates/questions: Nothing.
Debbie downer (a place to vent ) : CD 1. I got yet another pregnancy announcement yesterday. SO has been super stressed about work and the house (still in the midst of renos so we're still with my parents) which is making TTC super difficult. I'm hoping this cycle goes well. On a good note though my LP has increased by 3 days since my loss...so I'm hoping that will help. It was only 9 to 10 days when we conceived our loss. It's now up to 13 days. If we can get it together long enough to hit at least a few days during my FW then I'll at least be happy with our efforts.

How are you doing? Hopeful
Status (TTA, TTC, Benched): Ttc
Diagnosis (if applicable):n/a
Updates/questions: cd 7 here. Even though this af was super odd I’m hopeful for this cycle. Going to start eod soon.
Debbie downer (a place to vent ) : my sister called last night and said she wanted to visit for spring break. I’m dreading spring break because that was my due date. My sister stresses me out, she doesn’t understand my feelings and only wants to have fun. Her visit all depends on my brother being in town. Blah.

akwild Sorry about your sister. Mine is the same. She was in town shortly after I found out about our loss and then again shortly after I was released from the hospital following the hemorrhage. Both times she opted to go visit her boyfriend instead of coming to see me. I didn't even get a text from her until after I texted her. And I completely get what you mean about spring break. Over Xmas I just kept thinking I should have been 6 months pregnant. March is going to suck. Here's hoping we all end up on new BMBs before then.

How are you doing? Meh, okay. I was happily distracted by Christmas fun and made it through without being a total debbie downer so I'm feeling good about that.
Status (TTA, TTC, Benched): TTC
Diagnosis (if applicable): unexplained 2IF
Updates/questions: Finally got a negative test a few days ago, hopefully that means my hcg is back down to zero by now. In other news H and I have decided to go ahead with IUI asap, probably next cycle if I can get our insurance on board in time.
Debbie downer (a place to vent): Another group I'm in had a post about all the great things that happened in 2017 and it really got me down. Not that there weren't great things but there wasn't anything "big" and I was supposed to be finishing the year strong (and pregnant). It took me a few days but instead of being sad about the crap year I'm going to focus on 2018. I'm feeling really hopeful that it's going to be a good year.
I hope everyone had a great holiday and I wish you all amazing things in the new year!

notelsie, Happy Birthday! I think there is always something about turning another year older that serves as a reminder sammysam, That's great news about your LP! I'm keeping everything crossed for you. akwild, I'm sorry about your sister. I skipped the holidays this year just so I wouldn't have to deal with family (though not my sister who is on this site and is amazing). charliefox, I'm with you on 2017. It was the freaking worst. I know there were some good things that happened, but the bad outweighed it from my perspective. How are you doing? Ok right now. Glad the holidays are over. Status (TTA, TTC, Benched): TTC Diagnosis (if applicable): PCOS, MFI Updates/questions: We got a new SA done last week and the results came back so much better that it's giving me hope. But at the same time, I'm afraid to get hopeful because it makes the months of let downs feel that much worse. It's just a weirdo balancing act trying to keep myself from becoming optimistic enough but not overly so. I had to give what felt like gallons more blood after my latest loss to make sure all my hormones and everything are still fine. The results were all good thankfully. Guess I get a year reprieve before I have to do that again. Unless of course I get knocked up, but I think that'd be a fair trade. Debbie downer (a place to vent ) : Nothing right now. Just chugging along.

MsG so glad the SA results are looking better and that your blood tests are looking good. Maybe that little bit of extra hope will be the thing that makes the difference:)

sammysam, Thanks . I'm just hoping it means I'm not in for another year of trying without success (or finally biting the bullet and going the IVF route - which we'd have to save for anyway so it'll be a bit). For something that's supposed to be "so natural" this process sure sucks.

How are you doing? Patient, at peace, finally relaxed after winter break (I work at a school).
Status (TTA, TTC, Benched): TTCAF!
Diagnosis (if applicable): PCO, possible MFI, RPL
Updates/questions: Totally random question, please solve this for us! When I'm periody or overeat, I often let him know I feel so bloated...to me, that means water retention. Like, my pants are squeezy. Just learned DH thinks that means gassy/farty. Who is right?
Debbie downer (a place to vent ): It's obnoxious that getting KU doesn't mean we're in the clear. I test Sunday and I'm so excited for a possible BFP but petrified of the waiting game to see if it works out. Almost wanting it to be a BFN so I can be like, whew dodged that bullet.

sunshiney Haha to the bloat argument:) You are totally right. Water retention, squeezy pants...NOT farty. I love that he thought you were telling him you were gassy all the time though! My SO would have a heart attack if I told him every time I felt farty. Also sorry about the mixed feelings. Loss sucks and just keeps on messing with you. Amazing how it can steal away some of the joy and happiness even if/when we do get pregnant.

sammysam yes that is what was so mortifying! We've known each other only a year and a half and I'm not sure I've made him aware yet that I ever fart...

Lol, sunshiney, I think guys don't get the same bloat symptoms as we do (thanks mother nature!) so to them it probably means farty.

So now I'm Oing on day 6 of my cycle. I thought CM seemed fertile the past few days but because it was still so early in my cycle (the tail end of mt period) I didn't test. Did an OPK this morning and blazing positive. We're aiming to DTD tonight but I'm worried we already missed the window. Again.

Thanks sunshiney . Of course we couldn't get our act together last night so we're going to try again tonight but I'm pretty sure we're out. I'm holding out a tiny bit of hope but I usually O on the day of my positive OPK so chances are slim. Blah.
