I’m so sorry king26 and addymac for the horrible sleep nights. It sucks so bad and makes everything feel harder. I also not going to cosleep ever again after DD1 because it really starts to get less restful over time and here I am! She woke at 1:15 after not even going down til 9:30 and was in my bed the rest of the night ugh!

jt2378 after the leap was over I had the happiest little nugget. For a few days and she’s been sick since. I’m sure she’ll be better in time for leap 5! Right??!! Isn’t that always the way? Hope she feels better

I’m right there with the terrible night. Solidarity hugs!
A went down around 7pm, but I decided to watch a movie with MH. When I went to bed shortly after 9, A woke up and was inconsolable and wouldn’t go back to sleep till midnight. Then was up every hour. 😪 I think he might have a tooth coming in, but I can’t get a good look at his gums.
We are also in leap 5, and though not as bad so far, it’s been a struggle. He’s super clingy again.

Has anyone traveled with a baby internationally? We are going to Mexico in May, and I’m wondering about logistics. How many diapers to bring, can I bring frozen milk in my checked luggage, traveling with a car seat, ect. Any experiences?

How many diapers to bring, can I bring frozen milk in my checked luggage, traveling with a car seat, ect. Any experiences? I’ve travelled but not internationally. You can bring frozen milk in a carryon cooler. As much as you want. My bffs cousin travels with s cooler of stuff everywhere. I have a car seat and stroller combo and I just gate checked it every time, i bought a travel stroller bag on amazon to protect it. One time I checked the car seat with the stroller in the same bag (bag is huge and folds up tiny) and once southwest let me take th car seat on board bc the flight was not full. I overpacked on diapers every time but maybe you could amazon diapers to the hotel? I know people do that within the US, not sure if it would work in Mexico but you could call th hotel and ask if you can have a package delivered and take some extra just in case? I like having the stroller car seat with me until boarding time bc it’s a second place to put the kid and helps with a spot to put the bag / milk so you’re not wearing the kid AND lugging around a diaper bag and cooler and any other carryon items. If you’re taking a pnp You’ll have to check the pnp as luggage but I know many airlines do it for free and don’t count it as a bag.

Thanks for the tips addymac! We are staying at a house in a gated community, so I’m not sure how mailing things would work. I didn’t think of a pack n play either! I wonder if the house has one. Traveling with an infant sounds interesting.

addymac, sorry things were rough your first day back. I always hated when MH would text me that M was having a rough time while I was at class or clinical. I actually told him to stop unless it was an emergency because it gave me anxiety and there was nothing I could do! I hope tonight is better. ((Hugs))

@easilyunamused, so jealous of your trip to Mexico. Sounds like fun even with all the logistics of travel with a baby!

We are planning to go to the Midwest in June for a wedding. DH has convinced me that we should drive. Like we always have. Because of how much stuff we will need to take with us and also it will be so much cheaper. We agreed that me and baby will fly back home if it’s terrible. We have made it in 17 hours childless. He’s a nut. We are going to break the trip into two days. Stopping at a hotel. Probably in Ohio since it’s the biggest stupidest state in the way We did a 12 hour road trip broken up over 2 days when A was 4 weeks. Wasn’t too bad! Good luck, you’re right tho. So many things to bring for a baby.

I’m so irritated. Somehow, A will not settle back to sleep without nursing again at every wake up. Which is happening every 2 hours again. Whyyyyy? What the hell changed?! I had it down to twice a night and was able to soothe him back to sleep without picking him up the other wakeups.
Sleep is by far the more difficult thing ever. It makes me hate being a parent.

So I was desperate for sleep so I tried the Merlin suit tonight. J cried going into it but then calmed down after a few minutes....he then just slept a 6 hour stretch!!! It could be a fluke but i needed that sleep. If it works again I may need to buy a second suit

@easilyunamused ugh im so sorry. i hope he chills out and sleeps for a few hours without needing the boob. king26 that's awesome! good work! my nanny got N into a swaddle sleep sack and he took a 2+ hour nap. of course he had been up since 6am and slept very little overnight..... she thinks she's going to magically fix him- i hope she does, but I am not holding my breathe. i'm so tired, i slept like crazy all broken up today after work last night. at least i'm off thursday night and i can snuggle the shit out of my baby. DH hasn't responded to my texts tonight so im hoping he is asleep (hah!) but i bet it is more likely that N is being a beast. He wouldn't even let them put him down for bedtime. I had to wake up from my very short nap and do it.

addymac You found a nanny! I think I just have missed that part. That's great. So sorry that the transition back to work has been so tough. I hope it gets better soon. Five days to the end of the leap! Baby H gave me a decent stretch last night, but like @easilyunamused and others have said, he's been wanting to eat more at night again. I guess it's just a growth spurt. It still catches me off guard how these babies grow in spurts. I came home from work yesterday and picked up baby h, and he just looked different, slightly bigger, slightly fatter, face just had a different look. I was like, what happened to my newborn? It's hard to believe that in a few months they will be eating solids and close to being mobile!!

thinkchocolate05, yes! We hired her on Saturday. I hope it works out well, I have a really good feeling about her and I was really impressed. We were actually leaning towards a younger nanny, but this older lady impressed us so much we went with her instead. FX it works out. We are doing a trial week this week and part of next. My MIL also really likes her, so that's reassuring. I swear, N felt heavier yesterday when I picked him up after getting home from work!! Then again, my arms may just be like what?! after holding 4 lb babies at work all night .. who knows! Tonight seems to have gone a *little* better for DH - N ate at 8, went down at 9, and slept til 2am. But at 330 DH texted me to update me and N was apparently not interested in going back to sleep after his bottle poor DH. idk wtf N is doing. I'm off tonight so hopefully I can swing him back into the eat and back to sleep mode. This freakin kid! He's lucky he's so cute!!

R wakes up every night and it takes her about an hour to go back to sleep. I don’t pick her up or feed her. It’s so frustrating. She does a seven hour stretch and then wakes up. Then she woke up at 4:30am, so I put her on my chest (but, she’s getting way too big for this). Then T woke me up at 5:45am - which is way to early. So, I’m not even getting my broken up sleep.
I think maybe we need to sleeping though the night in the crib. Also, R needs to roll to her belly more, because I bet she’d sleep better.

N slept from 9p (ate at 8p) til 2am! Then he wouldn’t fall asleep til like 0330 but then they slept until DHs alarm went off at 7:15! I know it could just be a fluke but I am crossing all my fingers and toes he keeps this up.
I am wiped out. Almost fell asleep at work this morning while doing stupid paperwork haha. Pumping and then napping!!!

M has gotten so active in the last couple days like barrel rolling all over the floor! I had to lay a blanket down next to her playmat and she still managed to end up halfway across the rug lol. Ugh I thought I had more time to childproof with the toddlers little choking hazard toys
