Hello ladies, we are going to a wedding in Washington in June and we're planning on spending 5 days while we are there in Seattle.
Key things to consider; We will be traveling across country with a 5 month old. Said 5 month old does have a visa is it worth it to take the ferry to Canada? This is our first flight, anything special I should pack/consider? For 2 days it will just be my H and I but for the other 3 days there will be my brother and Mom who have offered to watch baby if we would like a night out by ourself.
Please recommend all the stuff! Thanks in advance.

I love Seattle!
I think you could do plenty without needing to head to Canada. There are lots of islands around Seattle you could explore. Travelling with a 5 month old can be really easy, but also a little tricky with naps and sleep and eating, so I'd keep the logistics as easy as possible and not go to Canada too.
Things to see/do: The Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, wander the pier area and the aquarium is cool, the Ballard Locks (watch the boats, see the salmon jumping up the fish ladder from Puget Sound to the lake), Chihuly Garden and Glass, the Fremont Troll.

brux DS has been pretty good with going out thus far and sleeps pretty well. I think you are right with Canada, I think we will hold off on that and try to keep things as simple as possible. Do you have any food recommendations?

In what area of the city are you staying? That could determine your walkable places.

Other than that, I like to eat as much fish as I can when I'm there. I just rely heavily on Yelp's app to find places near where I happen to be at meal time.

Beth's Cafe near Green lake is a good greasy spoon diner, which is also close to the zoo. Red Mill burgers. If you want to get outside, you can find any number of nice parks on the sound or lake Washington.

Hello Robin for yummy cookies. If you're into breweries I can give you a giant list of places to try. You can't go wrong with any of Tom Douglas' restaurants. I love Etta's and Brave Horse Tavern.

All I got is Croissants from Dahlia's bakery, and donuts from Top Pot.
Check out around Pike Place market, maybe take in a Mariner's game if they are playing ?

North Seattle, I love the gardens at UW, the botanicals at the zoo, Big Time Brewery, and Fremont is a fun hood to explore.

Fremont Brewing is really good, and kid friendly! I like Cloudburst and Old Stove, too. If you like tasting lots of beer, Pine Box in Capitol Hill has a huge selection of taps.

Yay! Ok, here we go. Elliot Bay Brewery - Has a couple of locations but I like the Lake City one and they serve food. Optimism Brewing - On Capitol Hill, no food but usually has food trucks. Reuben's - In Ballard, no food but usually has food trucks. Stoup - Ballard, usually has food trucks. Pike Brewing - In Pike Place and they serve food. Maritime Pacific Brewing - Ballard and they serve food. If you want to venture over to the Eastside then I recommend Bellevue Brewery in Bellevue, they serve food. And Triple Horn and Dirty Bucket in Woodinville, neither serve food but you can bring your own or order take out. There's a ton more, but these are some favorites that came to mind.

My H is going to be so excited when I tell him there are a bunch or breweries. Also I am very interested in this Pike's place since so many of you have mentioned it. I gather it is a large open air market?

I gather it is a large open air market? Yes! It's awesome. Lots of vendors and little shops and some restaurants. You'll also have to go visit the gum wall. It's literally a wall with a bunch of chewed up gum stuck to it, it sounds disgusting, and well, it is, but you still need to go see it for yourself!

They're also home to the best cannoli that i've found in Seattle, thus far, and the best fresh mini donuts, ever. Bring cash.

Of got don't mind a drive, the Snoqualmie Falls are really pretty, but I would only go if it's a weekday. It gets so crowded and parking is awful on the weekends.

TIL I need about 3 more weeks of vacation and about eleventy billion dollars and I will be able to do all the stuff in Seattle.
But seriously how will I ever choose! It all sounds so much fun. Sounds like me and H will need to buckle down and seriously plan what we want to do most. Pre planning your vacation to what food you want to eat and drink isn't OTT is it?

Oh, and Diamond Know brewery. They have a couple locations but my favorite is the one by the water in Mukilteo. Good beer and food.
You should just move here and let me be your permanent tour guide.

+1 to Old Stove Brewing, they have an IPA called CCCIPA and I'm not normally a fan of IPAs but this one is really good.
HellBent Brewing Company, they're located further north in Seattle.
Cupcake Royal has amazing cupcakes and they also have ice cream.

When I travel (mostly for work) I always check a bag full of beer back home. I absolutely plan my trips around the important things.
