We are approaching NYE now. What are your plans for NYE and NYD? Is anyone thinking about resolutions or goals yet? What does the rest of 2017 hold for you?

So my dh updated my phone. I hate the tapa updates every time. It will not show me my bmb subscriptions, even though the little circle is checked. Any ideas?

H works both NYE and NYD so we'll probably sleep instead of ringing in the new year at midnight. I have no resolutions. I never keep them. I just want to see all of us alive and reasonably healthy through 2018.

M has picked up a lot of new words lately. She now says help me, move, uncle, nana, papa, Emma (thanks wiggles), yeah, and mimi. As well as the ones she already had. I'm less worried about her speech now.

H got a call last night (Christmas that he has to go to work a day early and on nights instead of days. Plus they are changing his schedule. And we have yet to get the email to see what his new schedule will be. I have no clue about NYE or NYD. Probably stay home and might put the kids to bed before midnight but let them stay up later than normal. We will see.

No big NY plans here. We usually go out with friends to a nice dinner but I am feeling a quiet night in personally. It's so cold here right now. Will end up canceling most of my lessons this week while I still will work it's going to be a very lazy week here I think.

I have no idea what time H rolled in last night. Last time I looked at the clock was around 2 am, and he wasn't home yet. I knew he was going to be late, but I didn't expect him to be THAT late. I let him sleep in this morning and I got up with the kids. I'm not mad, it's just weird, and I was a little worried about him.

We donβt have any NYE plans. Iβm sure we will hang at home. I am kind of excited to see Britney and Mariah perform. We will prob order Thai food and dh will have some drinks.
I would like to do some resolutions. Will think about that!

And apparently he was there when I checked the time, I just wasn't awake enough to notice him lol. I stayed awake until almost 1, and dozed a bit after that.

One crabby sick bebeh here. It must have been Christmas magic that we made it through the actual holiday before she turned into a crab monster.

Hello everyone! I've just been catching up. Sorry for all of the sick kiddos. I hope everyone is on the mend. @kelltothekell, congratulations!
My in laws left yesterday after spending a week with us. They are super nice and helpful but it's still exhausting having company for that long. I was travelling both weekends before they arrived, so very little time to prep. I was able to sneak in a quick trip to see my parents - it was a total surprise for them and they were so happy - and my Dad is recovering well from his heart issue.
We had a nice Christmas. LO didn't want to open any presents (maybe because I had been telling him for two weeks not to open the presents?) but he loves pretty much everything he got. He wanted to play with everything immediately and it took forever, but I really enjoyed having a lazy morning.
Oh, and we found out that baby #2 is a girl! I'm nervous and also excited. My MIL already started a "pink wardrobe" for her.

We are on day 6 of Christmas break and the DDs are driving me up the wall. I wish we had some grandparents we could send them off to for a couple of days. My mom is here and she's a big help, but she loses her patience with them, too (understandably). Part of the problem is that DD3 has started crying inconsolably whenever we are not paying attention to her, and both DH and I are at the end of our ropes with that.
The great news is that since we did away with milk in her bottles after her stomach flu, she has started consistently STTN. Hallelujah. For the first time in 6.5 years, we are both regularly STTN and it is spectacular.

Between this afternoon and Saturday morning, I have to make 3 kinds of cookies and a batch of cream puffs. And I need to clean my kitchen and go buy some of the ingredients before I can start. Why do I do this to myself?
H's holidays are done after this weekend, and S doesn't go back to school for another week after that. I'm going to clean as much as I can this coming week and next Thursday or Friday I will declare a "leave me alone" day and leg H deal with the kids while I relax and possibly take myself out for coffee or something.

lollipop, going out to coffee alone sounds amazing. I may need to pencil that in before dh goes back to work Tuesday. We went out for our anniversary/dhs bday/January date night last night and it was amazing. We got an app, split a shrimp and fresh veggie pasta dish, and finished with tiramisu. So tasty. We spent today at my dads so dh could help him work on his unfinished basement and then they took us out to eat. The roads are horrific right now though, it's so cold and we got a dusting of snow that turned right into ice and no chemicals can fix because of the temps. It was a long drive, about 3 hours round trip, but dd3 made it without any accidents and the kids were patient so it was fine. crimsonandclover, the 2yo drama is high right now here too. She does NOT want to wear undies or pants or use the potty except when she does. She does NOT want to sit for stories or a meal. Except when she wants to eat RIGHT NOW. Its comical, but it's freaking annoying too. Best part? She'll do anything dd1 asks her to. I have taken to asking dd1 to take her to the bathroom/bedroom/table or help with her coat.

dizzycooks, yes, for me that is one of the most exciting things about being done with having babies. It looks like DH and I will now be able to go to bed every night with the knowledge that we will not have to get out of bed until morning unless one of the kids is sick. ::does happy dance:: In strange news, one corner of our kitchen smells like poop and DH and I cannot figure out where it's coming from. We even pulled the dishwasher out to look and clean behind it. Nothing. I do not understand, and it is a distinctly human-poop smell. On the plus side, that whole corner of our kitchen has never been so clean...

I think I messed up my first batch of cream puffs. I may need to send H to the store for more butter and eggs. Balls. It's colder than the north and south pole here today, so he won't be thrilled if he has to go.

My first batch of cream puffs was definitely undercooked. The cookies turned out pretty good. And the calla lily cakes (I'm not 100%sure what they Are, just found the recipe in my cookbook and thought I'd try it) were a complete failure. Oh well. There will be plenty of other stuff there tomorrow.

Happy 2018 ladies! Also, my baby is two today!!! π Same! How did that happen? Did you do anything to celebrate? My big girls wanted to take her to Build a Bear so we did that a few days back. Today was very low key. I made her cupcakes, we went and bought donuts for breakfast. and otherwise stayed home. It's so cold! She got a set of sand toys for the sandbox and they played in the tub with her new bath toys from Christmas. Overall, I think it was a good day. I can't believe she's two.

We sang happy birthday a lot and she sang along. So cute! I brought cookies to daycare for her to share. We are doing a bday party next weekend. We will probably do a cake and ice cream tomorrow and try to do a fun activity. Itβs freezing here too so may not get out.

I just went grocery shopping for tomorrow. We're doing a picnic of appetizers on the floor in the living room. We'll watch a fun show (not sure what yet??? any ideas?) while we eat then do one of the Netflix kids countdowns for NYE with the kids and a sparkling apple cider toast. Then they are off to bed! I'm not sure if H and I will even stay up till midnight. We have a babysitter for tonight. Our nanny gifted us with a free night of babysitting(!!!) so we are going out tonight. No big plans but just going to enjoy a night out just the two of us.

scorpioscuba your nanny rocks! That is amazing! We are going to be painting our townhouse and replacing some things that need updating over there. My mom's bf is sick so she is going to stay with the kiddos otherwise they would be joining us. I'm hoping to be home by 8, but this is really putting the kibosh on my plans for an appetizer picnic. I took out a chicken and plan on roasted some veggies and squash for them to have while we are gone. Hopefully I can put together some easy apps for dh and I when we get home. We went to the gym today. It was the first time in a long, long time I've been up to the weight room and done any sort of exercise. While I am sure it was good for me, omgosh I am sore. And tired. I have my glucose test on Tuesday so I need to behave myself in the coming days.

scorpioscuba, what a great present! Friends of our family also used to gift a weekend of babysitting to my parents. DH's family was here yesterday for a Christmas/NY/DD3's b-day get-together. It was good, but then this morning his grandma called. She's in the early stages of dementia and thinks people come into her apartment and move things / take them / leave new things, so she locked her clothes closets and brought the keys with her. They fell out of her pocket on our couch, so she couldn't open her closets today, and all her clothes are in there. :/ FIL (it's his mom) told us she would just have to manage until Tuesday, when we could give the keys to an uncle who was going to visit her, but I simply couldn't let a 92-year-old woman go for 3 days without a change of clothes. So DH drove the hour drive to give her her keys and then an hour back this afternoon. Tonight I don't know if I'll make it to midnight. Here everyone sets off fireworks on NYE, so there's no sleeping through midnight. I'll wake up and watch the fireworks with the kiddos (who will also wake up), then I'll go back to bed. Exciting times.
