Yep. Next Tuesday. Ugh I really hope I donโt get sick. Iโm so annoyed even though I know itโs not his fault. And he usually toughs it out with a cold, heโs not a man-cold type of guy and he said he feels like heโs going to die and just looks awful. Poor guy. But I also am so tired and my boobs hurt and N is being a fussy eater so Iโm like over it. I hope he gets better soon, for everyoneโs sake and that we donโt get sick. Also. Finding a nanny sucks. Iโm so over it and I have at least three more interviews to go today ๐ฃ Did he get swabbed and confirmed for the flu? I wish he would be quarantined to lessen the risk of you guys getting it. The nanny thing is so awful too, Iโm sorry ๐ What will you do if you donโt find someone by next week?! Heโs at the dr right now and looks like it is the flu. He got tamiflu and is getting a dose for me. Ugh. I really hope I donโt get it man. My MIL is flying out to help us until we find someone. I feel like a failure of an adult even though I know itโs not really our fault the nannies we picked fell through. But it makes me feel like a loser ๐

addymac, itโs actually a great swaddle! The Velcro is a bit loud, so I avoid fixing it if heโs asleep. The website says to stop using it once the baby can flip from back to stomach so there is still some time left for me. At least arms in. You can use it with arms out too if they just like the tightness on their chest. annaandeve.com Iโm going to return my swaddle up 50/50 and buy this one tomorrow ๐. Do you think I could put him in a sleep sack and then put the swaddle on? Is that how youโd do it to keep him warm?

Iโm still swaddling A, because he just moved so much all of the time that he wakes himself up. Heโs been throwing his legs against his mattress all night long lately too. Itโs driving me nuts. I need to try to transition him out of it soon, but Iโm not interested in giving up more of the little sleep I get. Whenโs the absolute necessary age? J is still in swaddle up and will be until he rolls. We also have a Merlin suit we will put him in next. He does the leg banging every night and it's so freak8ng loud. What is that???

@easilyunamused that swaddle looks amazing. Whatโs it called / where do I get it / is it stupid to try one now Also DH has the flu. Iโm so thrilled. He refuses to not sleep in our bed so Iโve made a barrier of pillows between him and N and I. Iโm so tired and I drank from the same glass as him yesterday before he told me he felt sick. Thanks dude. Hoping I can get the prophylactic tamiflu dose when he goes to the dr today. Funnily enough he is covering the urgent care clinic at the hospital this week. Now he has to call in sick and go to the clinic himself. Well, I think thatโs funny. He doesnโt see the humor. I hope you and n don't get sick

@starzia DS slept a billion times better when he could sleep on his belly. It freaked me out at first too though. Now I can't wait for E to start rolling to her belly and hope she also sleeps better.

I am playing catch up! Sorry to hear the sleep and sickness troubles! Hope everyone feels better and gets sleep!
Itโs been crazy here even though we didnโt go anywhere for the holiday. My DH is working from home all week so DS1 has been excited. I enjoy my DH home but sometimes itโs more work for me! Lol I feel he disrupts my rhythm. Lol
The baby is still slightly congested. Christmas Day he had goopy eyes, cough and horrible congestionIt was a long day. He has gottten better, but this lingering cough is killer. Itโs worse at night of course.

addymac, this is probably a dumb idea but are you a member of any local-to-you Mommy/baby Facebook groups? If so, could you post looking for recommendations for a nanny? I've seen people advertise/request childcare through groups like that.

thinkchocolate05, have you tried the swaddle up 50/50. It helped a ton when we were transitioning M from the swaddle because they are still snuggled in but can get their hands in their mouth. Her main issue with being swaddled was not being able to chew her hands. Then once they start rolling you just zip off the wing things and they can use it as a sleep sack. I know it doesn't work for everyone but it's been a miracle for us.

I've seen people advertise/request childcare through groups like that. Not dumb! Thatโs one of the ways I was mainly looking for a nanny and found a lot, including the two we hired. I finally just paid for care.com and another Chicago based neighborhood family website for access to their childcare forum and ads.

addymac, I wish he did too! I guess every baby is different which is probably why there are so many baby sleep products out there. How is sleep training going?

king26, they can't wear the Merlin suits once they can roll, right? We have one size 3-6 mos but she's still small for it. I'm afraid by the time it fits she'll be rolling.

He seems so close to rolling that I'm wondering if I should just tough it out till he gets used to being unswaddled but these past few days have been tough with 6-7 wake-ups. And now I have conjunctivitis in both eyes. I hope hope hope neither kid gets it.๐ค๐ค๐ค๐ค๐ค Doctor didn't think it was contagious, but I thought conjunctivitis always was unless I got chemicals or something in my eye and I think I would remember that happening.

I think they can because they have a 6 to 9 month Merlin suit. I know a friend of mine has her 8 month old in it and she can roll and crawl. I think the suit kind of prevents them from rolling.

Oh no thinkchocolate05, Iโm sorry about the conjunctivitis ugh! As far as I know itโs very contagious so thatโs weird the dr didnโt think it was. Hope you feel better soon

The sleeosuit pretty much makes it impossible to roll. I would always double check with pedi though.
H has been using sleep suit for 2-3 weeks now. He can roll tummy to back and Christmas He rolled back to tummy. His pedi didnโt seem concerned when I told her he was in it.
DS1 was always yo small for it and by the time he could fit, I had already started sleep training.
I definitely remommebd he sleep suit. It keeps his hands from his mouth which is usually what woke him.

We put h in the crib for the first time last night. We havent started sleep training yet though.
He did okay. He has a cough, so with have a vaporizer in his room. He slept like a rock until the stupid thing started to make loud banging noises! ๐
So tonight we go back to cool mist. I still have him in sleep suit and I am using a crib wedge because if his cold.
I am so ready for long stretches of sleep. I really hope this crappy sleep is from the leap which end in another week.

Sleep has sucked the last 3 days. We have 12 days left of this leap, traveled Xmas, and he just had shots so I hope it's just that. Last night he woke 4 times. 2 he went back to sleep quickly 2 i had to feed him. Tonight he went down at 820 and has been up every 20 minutes so far. He's fussy and since he had shots yesterday we jst gave Tylenol and I fed him 2 oz. I hope he sleeps.
What do your babies wear to bed in winter? It's 65 in our room and I feel like he's cold. He's been in a onesie, a sleeper, and swaddle up. Tonight I just did onesie, sleeper, cotton sleep sack, swaddle up. I hope it helps since it's 5 degrees outside and chilly inside.

Iโve been stressing about getting her in the crib. I know she needs to get out of the RnP. I need to try at night but it feels impossible. GL cwbh928, I hope he does well! I also hope our sucky sleep is leap related. Nights have gotten better but naps are a disaster. king26, Our bedroom temp is the same. I dress her in a onesie, footed pjs and fleece sleep sack. If I put her in a fleece pj, I use a cotton sleep sack. Her hands do feel cold though sometimes so I hope her whole body isnโt. I hope J starts sleeping better again for you.

He reminded that it is probably never a great time to move him and he sleep has been eh anyway. I am semi glad I did. Night time was much easier. He seems to settle fine. We keep the same routine as we did with bassinet. Tonight he has been a little more fussy. He went down at 9 and has already woke up. However, I think his teeth are bothering him based on other symptoms. This is all new to me since again DS1 beyond a horrible sleeper! Lol

My ILs have been here for a week so I havenโt been online too much. I am so ready to have our house back. MIL was helpful with the kids, but FIL was majorly getting on my nerves with picking on DS. DD has been more fussy too, probably overstimulated and out of the normal routine.
