We had a fantastic Christmas. H woke up sick this morning, so I've kept him on one end of the house and M on the other. Thankful my house is small so I can take care of both of them.
Hope everyone had a wonderful time with family this holiday season.

Happy Belated Christmas! We have been fighting a cold, so we're just taking it easy today. I took the day off hoping to do fun things but instead I've been lounging around. Back to work tomorrow.

I feel accomplished. I put Christmas away and organized the toys. This invoked throwing some stuff out. I took a huge tub to once upon a child and the remaining items they didn’t buy (along with some stuff I knew they wouldn’t buy) went to good will. Only toys that are played regularly (maybe a small amount that’s not played with often) remain.

jedi, I arrive on the 7th an unfortunately I don't think so. We arrive around 5 and our welcome dinner is like at 6. I'm sorry. Next year I'm gonna try to arrange my own travel to give me more free time!

I love Christmas so much, but after several days of busyness and crummy sleep, my bigger kids are grouchy, extra sensitive, and whiny which is driving me nuts. Hoping this Christmas hangover is short lived! DH is back to work today, so we're getting back to normal things. I need to fold a load of laundry, meal plan, and hopefully work out too. I'd like to take the kids to the library today too, but it's -5 out and no thank you to dealing with bundling them all up for it.
Give me all of the potty training tips! DS1 has been showing readiness signs for several months, and is capable of going a whole day without an accident. He just won't. He is such a stubborn kid, and nothing seems to motivate him. He gets a candy or sticker every time he uses the toilet, and we've told him that if he goes a whole day with no accidents, he'll get to pick a car or book. He's done it once. We bought him underwear, celebrate when he goes, let him choose between big and little toilets, etc. He just doesn't care. I'm frustrated because I know he can do it, but I don't know how to convince him.

mommabakes, no tips but we are trying for the first time this week! We are going to try the quick version (sort of the Oh Crap! method) and see how it goes...

We had such a great Christmas, but I am glad it's over! Now on to packing up the house! We won't be moving out of our house until January 27, so we can slowly work at packing stuff for that.
I'm also ready to get back to healthier habits. Like we have gone SO overboard with eating and drinking this holiday. I hate that I have zero self control around that during the holidays.

mommabakes just a question, but what makes you think he is capable if he doesn't do it? I do think that some children just take longer to be fully ready. I would probably just have him wear underwear and plastic pants, and keep plugging away with it. Keep taking him to the toilet at regular times, have him assist with changing when accidents happen, and try not to get frustrated. If you keep at it and notice that he is having more accidents then success, I would efforts on pause until he seems more ready.

He's went a whole day with no accidents a couple of times, tells me when he's going, and wakes up dry about half the time. He uses the toilet probably half of the time. I know there's really no way to make them use the toilet, and we will keep on with pull ups, rewards, and encouragement. I'm (so far) keeping my frustration from showing, but definitely ready to have him out of diapers!

mommabakes well that's a lot of signs for sure. Have you thought about not using pull ups, or putting the underwear on under the pull up. That way he feels the wetness and eventually learns it's better to just go in the toilet than in the pull up?

We're doing just underwear today redandblue 2.5 hours and they're still dry. Putting them under a pull up is a good thought too!

I am feeling accomplished today! I packed up all the Christmas stuff and just kept packing! Packed half the kitchen, all the dining room decor crap and most of the bathroom! It's amazing how much shit you can accumulate over 15 years in one place!

Someone talk me down. DS had a cough for the past few days and apparently RSV is going around his daycare. This is fine except that I'm due any day with #2. Just what I need. A newborn with rsv rampant in my house.

flippinchica, Sorry for the stress. I hope your little guy is feeling better soon. Chances are in your favor that this is just a cold that will be gone before baby arrives. When are you due? How are you feeling? Can't remember, do you know the sex of the baby?

I need to stop eating junk. I've slowly put on a couple pounds in the past few weeks and need turn that around before my clothes get tight. Ideally I would exercise but it's about 10 degrees outside and I'm a wimp about running in the cold. Even the 15 minute drive to the gym seems daunting in this weather. I need to suck it up and go.

How are you feeling? Can't remember, do you know the sex of the baby? I'm due January 7 with another boy. I'm feeling ok but just really big and having trouble getting comfortable for sleep. Constipation, reflux, baby on ribs. The usual stuff.

Decided to browse around on insurances, and I'm pretty sure we're way overpaying on home insurance. Guess I'm gonna be doing some research! It'd be nice if we can save some money. DH is clueless about anything financial, so it always falls on me. I don't generally mind, but I wish he'd show a little interest. It gets a bit stressful feeling like our finances are all up to how well I manage our income :/
Thinking about inviting DHs brother and sil over for an early new year's Eve thing. They have a toddler too, and the kids would have a lot of fun.

I haven't washed my hair since monday. I might do so today. Being off work has thrown me off my routine, lol. But I am getting a lot done. Hope you are feeling better jedi. I too need to stop the non healthy food and get my butt to the gym aydee. I'm sorry you have to handle the finances alone. I hope you end up saving a ton by switching insurances though mommabakes.

mommabakes you know my life. It is actually one of the things I need to do while I'm off this week and next, to shop around for insurance (all of it, house/car/life). I need to figure it out before we move. I hate all of that shit, but I'm the one who is responsible for the finances. Some days I wish I could be a 'kept' woman, and have DH handle all of the finances, and I would only get an allowance or something. But let's be honest, I'm way too controlling for that! Lol! So here I sit.

Feeling better and I think H might be getting it which sucks. I’m battling a headache and achy body. Likely due to lack of food and caffeine. I lost like 5 pounds. I am going to try to take eating slow to make sure I’m good.
