The post I saw online about it said another $100 comes off at checkout. I’m debating buying it because we will definitely use it eventually, but it seems silly to buy it so far in advance? It’s out of stock online. The store had some on Friday but it’s saying out of stock in the store now too. 😭 Oh boo, guess I debated myself out of a cheap car seat!

I thought I was going to avoid the pregnancy pica this time around. Nope, it’s back. I’m not saying it’s particularly hard to resist eating things that aren’t food. But it’s a little disconcerting when you unwrap a new sponge to do dishes and your brain is going, “why don’t you chew on that for awhile? That looks like something that should go in your mouth, for sure.”

Only it’s a washcloth full of soapy water. 😒

My grandmother used to eat cigarette ashes (as if her smoking wasn’t bad enough) and my aunt used to eat rocks. They would have to stop her from going outside to get pebbles and chewing on them.

I have only been craving ice but it got a little better after a few weeks on iron.

I’m stressing out about naming this baby. I’m so indecisive and now we’ve added more names to the mix and I’m all sorts of confused 😩 whyyy are girls names so hard?? We have a bunch of boys names that we LOVE and are clear winners. But girls names are such a huge struggle for us!!

I've finally started dinner prep, but not after baking some butter spritz cookies, because why not? I also took some leftover ingredients and made some pretzel, hershey kiss, M&M bites (whatever those things are called where you smush an M&M into a partially melted kiss on top of a pretzel).
MIL should be here shortly, FIL decided to stay home and keep his germs to himself. I appreciate it greatly, but I think it is weird that a happily married couple is electing to spend Christmas 3 hours apart. I'm also concerned that MIL has the same/similar germs since she was kinda sick earlier in the week but not as bad as FIL. Why do my extended family members all get sick around the holidays and then stress me out about it?

There’s a lot of girl names that I LIKE, but not enough to name my child it. Ya know?

I'm still around, no labor. My online university's finals week ends tonight so I have a lot of grading to do. Faculty have until the 28th to submit final grades but given that I could pop at any time I'm anxious to get them done.
I've decided to skip church tonight because I can't even stand to sit at the dinner table for more than 10 minutes and I'm skipping 2/3 of an extended family Christmas Tuesday because I'll get too sore so this year is just messed up as it is. Meh.

Last time I told my OB, so they tested me, but my iron was normal. I’ll let her know again!

Funny thing is that L pulled out his feeding tube yesterday and looks like we aren’t going to need it again!! YAY! He has been taking all his feds successfully by bottle for almost 48 hours!! Fx everything continues going this well and he’ll be home in less than a week!! Ahhhh ETA: caught a sleepy smile! 😍 Poof

Yay pippiann that is wonderful news!! I think girls are easier to name but it is only because my husband has no strong opinions on girl names 😂 his boy name ideas are very... unique and not my style haha. With all three girls the extent of our naming conversation has been me saying "how about this name?" and DH saying "sure, that's fine."

I definitely think boy names are harder because I have a bunch of names I like but DH and I can't find one we both really like. Sigh.

jessijean good call skipping church. I wish I had skipped, halfway through the service (which wasn’t even that long) my feet were dying & all I wanted to do was lay down & prop them up haha.

Hi all! We just got back from my grandmothers. We had a great dinner and everyone had fun. We are spoiled and got so much stuff. I am pretty sure between hand me downs and new stuff baby boy could go the first 4 months of his life without wearing the same thing twice. 😮 We are relaxing now but still have to wrap G’s gifts from Santa. Then it’s bed because we are exhausted.

DH had to work tonight, which isn’t ideal, but they closed early so he’s home much sooner than I expected. Dinner was entertaining. My dad dropped the lasagna top down on a rug. We managed to salvage the parts that didn’t touch the ground. Not sure about the rug. The dogs were devastated that we didn’t decide to just leave the lasagna on the floor unattended. This is not our worst holiday dinner disaster, but it made for some good pictures.

Not a holiday disaster but funny nonetheless. Every year on Christmas Eve my grandma used to put out ‘Christmas Crackers’. It’s a decorated cardboard tube, you pull the ends and it pops, and inside is generally a small toy, a tissue paper crown, and a paper with a little joke. I grabbed a box when I saw them at Target because we were hosting Christmas Eve this year.
DD2 popped hers and out flew nail clippers. My mom got a plastic shoe horn. A bottle opener flew out of DD3’s. They were the LAMEST little prizes to ever come out of these things. I was laughing so hard. DD1 got a tiny yo-yo, the only toy in the bunch.

Also... thank you everyone who provided advice to if I should travel 3 hours to my grandma's funeral later this week. As of now - it is a game time decision (I have an OB appointment tomorrow)
