I am in the process of changing my cleaning and laundry routines and I’m curious about what you all do.
Do you do all of your laundry on one day? Over the course of a couple days? One or two loads every day?
Do you leave your laundry in the washer/dryer for days? Do you leave it sitting in a basket? Do you put it away immediately?
Bonus: what is your favorite laundry detergent/fabric softener/stain treater?

Before about November we were a do everything on one day laundry family. And then DH would fold and put away his things and mine sat in a basket. I’d usually do the girls’ laundry on a separate day.
Now I’ve moved to doing a load or two every day. Mon: girls’s laundry and towels Tues: darks and sheets from my bed Wed: lights/brights Thurs: girls’ bedding Fri or sat: DH washes his work uniforms Sometimes I’m on top of things and get them put away right away, but right now there is a basket with towels I washed yesterday in my bedroom.
We were using regular tide (free and clear for the girls) for detergent but I decided to try Persil this time. I will be switching back though because the persil’s fragrance is too strong for me. We use downy free and clear fabric softener for everything but towels. Oxiclean for stain removal. Sometimes I throw vinegar in with the wash.

All in one day, usually Saturday and my mom does hers on Sundays. I sometimes throw a load in mid week if A has to work the weekend, otherwise he'll run out of weld caps by Saturday. I hope that once I'm working from home I can do it throughout the week and not have to spend my weekend doing laundry.
Once in a blue moon I'll leave a load somewhere. It gets put away immediately 99% of the time. I hate wrinkled clothes so if they sit then I fluff them in the dryer.
I love gain. My MIL always used it and I loved the way A's clothes smelled lol.

Sunday I do my load and Cadence's load, if necessary I will do a towel or sheet load as well. Mh does his own. He can do it whenever he likes, except for Sunday. I usually do my load last and I leave it in the dryer because I'm over it. They generally stay in there until the dryer is needed again and I retrieve items I need each morning. #lazy Cadence's clothes get put away immediately, mostly because I need the dryer for the next load and I can't just leave her clothes in a pile on the couch....although if I could, I might(see above hashtag)
We use Purex detergent because it goes on sale a lot at Walgreens. I loved when we used Dreft for Cadence's baby clothes, though. I loved the smell and would often use it on my sheets and blankets.

Since J was born we have enough to do two loads every other day. A dark load and lights load of the kids and our clothes combined. Sunday we do all sheets, towels and kids blankets.
We immediately fold and put everything away, I also make sure to put all new cleaned underwear/socks on the bottom of the ones already in the drawer so they are in 'rotation'.
Sunday- Sheets, blankets and towels (and random clothes leftover from Sat morning loads) Mon- none Tues-dark and lights load Wed-none Thursday-dark and lights load Fri- MH work and pt clothes Sat-dark and lights load
I've been using Method detergent and LOVE it. I have dryer balls because I don't use dryer sheets.

I do at least one load every day. I prep the washer in the morning (or sometimes even the night before) of everything but detergent and softener. I either start a load as soon as I leave to drop Josie off at school, so I can throw it in the dryer when we get home and then I have time to fold and put away before we have to leave, or I'll run upstairs right as we're about to start dinner, so I can throw the dryer on about an hour later and then fold it and put it away after I put Charlie to sleep in and before Josie goes to bed. Sometimes I do both. I have to do it all at once. I use Tide and Snuggle, and I soak and/or spray with OxyClean.

I don't use fabric softener or fabric sheets. I may get some dryer balls for static when we're in the house. I can't now because then I would have to tell my mother she's right about the fabric softener.

I've mentioned before how crazy I am about the laundry. Like nothing can be in the hampers until all my loads are put away. I save one load for all of the clothes we wear on Saturday to do after we all shower and are in our PJs. And lord help A if he discovers a work shirt hidden in his truck after I've done his load. I'm worried my OCD won't let me do laundry throughout the week but I hope I can get over it.

I do all of our laundry on Sunday and it has to be folded and put away right then. The only time I do laundry during the week is if there's a vomit, pee or poop situation.
I use spray n wash for stains and laundry detergent just depends on whatever is on sale or I have coupons for at the time. Although I do love the way Kirkland's detergent smells.

I don’t have a routine. I feel like I do laundry almost every day. And because we wear uniforms for work we often have that plus regular clothes that we dirty each day.
I’m also terrible about starting a load but never finishing. For example throwing a load in the wash, but it never makes it to the dryer. So then the next day I re-wash it. I waste so much money on detergent doing this.
Gain has always been my go to detergent. I love everything gain scented! I buy air fresheners, mr clean multi purpose cleaner, dish soap, etc all with the gain scent.
But I like the Downy Exhilaration liquid fabric softener. And I am bad and use dryer sheets but prefer the Bounce dry sheets.

We have a routine at our house, I guess. Do you do all of your laundry on one day? Over the course of a couple days? One or two loads every day? I do all Evie's and my laundry on Saturdays. This includes towels and sheets. H gets the laundry room on Sunday.
Do you leave your laundry in the washer/dryer for days? Do you leave it sitting in a basket? Do you put it away immediately? I hang stuff up or fold it as soon as it comes out of the dryer and put it away. As mentioned above, I can't leave it sit because H will take it out of the dryer and let it sit so it wrinkles.
Bonus: what is your favorite laundry detergent/fabric softener/stain treater? I buy whatever is on sale, although I prefer Tide.

We have a 4 sorter hamper in our closet- towels, whites, colors, and darks. We throw in a load when the hamper is full or DH is out of something. He usually does more laundry than me but he always just puts it in the basket and lets it sit for days. If the hampers are getting full, I try and do a few loads when I'm home on Thursday and Friday and usually fold right away or at least lay out the things that wrinkle easily.
The kids each have a hamper in their room. Again, I wash as they are full or when they are out of pants. lol. There's usually gets folded and put away right away.
I clearly have no schedule.
Tide detergent and whatever dryer sheets. Oxyclean spray for stains.

After it comes out of the dryer it may sit in the basket for a day but usually gets folded pretty quickly. Put away immediately after folding. Since we do it whenever the washer is full, it's never really a chore.
I use Tide Free and Oxiclean for stains.

We either use Tide Free and Clear or All Free and Clear - Ocyclean or shout for stains
I do laundry when it needs to be done, no specific day. Usually 1 or 2 loads during the week and the 2-4 loads on the weekend
I will wash any family member together. Usually I do 1 dedicated cold wash per week, that is only MH and my clothes, sometimes 2. I wash all the kids' stuff on warm. For the warm washes, I usually do a load for our sheets, a load for S sheets, 1 dedicated "adult" wash, 1 dedicated kids wash per week. Those include towels. Then I'll do 1 or 2 more loads that are whatever needs to be done, I'll just pick stuff from all the hampers to throw in, usually when I need something, or am running low on something (ie my favorite jeans are dirty or B is running low on Jammies).
We have multiple sets of sheets for each bed so sometimes the sheets sit a while before I wash them.
I always put the wash in the dryer ASAP, but often leave it in the dryer overnight, or put it in the basket to bring upstairs and leave it there (right now I have an unfolded basket of the kids' clothes that I washed on Sunday that I haven't folded, but keep picking through for stuff for them to wear... #lazy

No routine.
I do laundry most days and put it away as time allows. My house is 3 stories so sometimes it's hard to get away from the kids to put everything up.
I use Method detergent and Mrs. Meyer's softener.

Do you do all of your laundry on one day? I usually split it Btwn the 2 wknd days.
Do you leave your laundry in the washer/dryer for days? I don’t leave it in the washer bc sometimes it gets that mildewy smell, which I hate. There have been times I’ve left it in the dryer though. Usually if I run a load before I go to bed or before leaving the house and then forget about it. Basically if I’m not around when the dryer goes off.
Do you leave it sitting in a basket? Do you put it away immediately? I fold the clothes and get it to each person’s room usually within 1-2 days of washing. The kids stuff gets put away quickly Bc it’s easy. Mh is the worst. I don’t put his clothes away for him. So he usually has a pile of clean clothes in his closet that never gets put away.
Bonus: what is your favorite laundry detergent/fabric softener/stain treater? Tide is our favorite detergent and oxyclean for stains.

I pretty much do laundry every time I pass my laundry room. 10 year old hockey players are stinky and the playground at T's school is basically a muddy puddle. We used to have laundry in the basement but moved it to the second floor when we did our addition. I wish we kept both.
I use All Free and Clear.

No routine. I do laundry most days and put it away as time allows. My house is 3 stories so sometimes it's hard to get away from the kids to put everything up. I use Method detergent and Mrs. Meyer's softener. Plus 1, minus the detergent. There’s a detergent here that smells like a popular newborn wash that I always use. I do, borderline to insane I’ve been told, separate. Kids and our laundry don’t mix, whites, light colours, dark colours, linen, towels etc. all get separate washes.

Ugh. Laundry. We suck at laundry. I pretty much always have a load in the dryer just waiting until I need the dryer and am forced to fold it. No real routine other than I do sheets Mon or Tues when I'm off work so I make sure they get changed out.

Tim usually does most of the laundry on Fridays, and I will finish the leftovers on Sat or Sun. We normally do separate loads for each of us. I love Gain but we use the Aldi version of Gain.

We do it as we need to and how many washers are available. So we may take one load down and see that all 4 are empty and run back and grab a few more loads. We perpetually have laundry to do. We obviously don't leave it in the dryer since it's shared, but sometimes will sit in the basket. Once it's folded it often sits in piles on the couch since I can't out kids stuff away after bedtime, and then I forget in the morning, it's a vicious cycle. Socks are the bane of my existence. We keep Nora's in a lingerie bag, but J's get lost so easily.
We use some free and clear in a green bottle that is hard to find, but now just have been using 7th generation unscented. No fabric softener.

I (try) to do all our laundry on Sunday. The kids are first and I was them together. Adam is *supposed* to fold and put theirs away but it only happens about 30% of the time. Depending on if I have my act together i fold and put it away or it sits in a basket for a week and we just grab what we need from it. Then I do our laundry. Same. Sometimes I fold and put away. Sometimes it stays in the basket. Sometimes all the hanging stuff gets put on the chair in our room and never makes it to the closet. I’m the worst with towels. They almost always stay in the dryer until I’m forced to take them out for another load. Then they get thrown on top of the dryer until the pile gets so giant and I need to fold and put away. As I read this I find I’m way more lazy about laundry than I thought. 😬
We use All free and clear. Both kids but especially Millie has super sensitive skin so all our laundry gets washed in it. We use bounce free and clear sheets also. Bc we don’t use scented detergent I find scented detergent overwhelming. I’m just not used to it anymore.

I typically do laundry as needed; we don’t really have a schedule. I’d say it averages out to a load every other day.
I’m generally decent at folding/putting away right away.
Tide, Bounce (dryer sheets) and devoted OxyClean user here.

We do laundry as needed. MH does most of the folding while I do groceries and take care of E. My clothes get put away when the pile is too in the way or to big for me to find what I need.

I have no schedule, but have been trying to implement one unsuccessfully. I would like to do one load every other day, but the week nights are just too busy since we don't get home until 6pm or after. Most gets done on the weekend, but I would love not have to do all laundry on the weekends. I wash most and MH does most of the folding. Some loads may sit in the basket folded for a day or two.
Loads are:
M's clothes and my weekday clothes M2 load - everything for him, blankets and towels included MH work clothes Towels and sheets- may be two loads depending on how many towels Delicates - usually our weekend wear, probably twice a month Whites - once or twice a month
I've used All free and clear since I had M. I've tried Gain before and I love the smell, but it makes me itch. Before M2 I wanted to try Tide, but bought the all because of a new baby. I use downy unstoppables for a little scent and because M2 is such a spitty baby, I changed to doing his laundry in the plant based dreft. I didn't like the stinch that came with his very spitty laundry.

What's special about Tide? I stop myself every time I go to buy it because its more expensive, but if there is something special about it, I wouldn't mind spending a few more dollars. I buy the all because its always on sale at Costco.
Forgot to say, I also use dryer balls, no fabric softener.

lahdeedah H prefers Tide, he claims it gets stains out better than cheaper brands. I don't know that is true, but I also sit at a desk all day, so my clothes don't get *that dirty.* H is a mechanic, so he comes home covered in oil and grease, so everything he owns is stained. I don't know if it really works better, but if I buy the cheaper stuff, he grumbles when he uses it, then ends up buying Tide anyway.

I was wondering about all of the Gain love. I don't think I've ever used it. And I think th only reason I use Tide is because it was what was in my house growing up, and it works.
