Anything stirring at your house? I woke up at 5am and could not get comfortable again. I finally got up at 5:30, but I know I’m going to regret this in about 6 hours. It appears dd3 is heading down the sick kid path. She has a terrible cough and looks pale. So far no fever though, so we wait. One more week of school for dd1. I’m trying to be more intentional with my mornings around here. Dd2 and I are doing a project (making seed paper for gifts today) and a letter recognition activity once or twice a week since it’s too cold for me to want to go outside.

dizzycooks, I just saw how sick your DD3 is - poor little kid! And now she's getting sick again? My DD3's stomach bug just does not want to give up. She puked Thurs morning, then was fine all Thurs afternoon and Friday. Sat morning DH gave her chocolate from her Advent calendar and she promptly puked it back up. She was fine the rest of the day Saturday and Sunday. Then Sunday at 11pm she started screaming and I went in to find she had thrown up in bed again. :/ She immediately fell back asleep and was fine for the rest of the night, but I didn't want to send her to daycare today. So now I'm trying to get my work done while she naps. Tomorrow and Wed I have more Christmas activities, and then Thursday I will be singing Hallelujah because it will be over. On Christmas Eve morning my mom arrives from the US for 2.5 weeks!

I have a bunch of clean up to do today because who wants to clean up when the party is over?! I also need to be very motivated and intentional about the work I am doing this week. So much to get done. Eek! I am sending healthy vibes to all the J16 kiddos, No colds for the holiday!

crimsonandclover stomach bugs are the worst! I’m glad you’re getting a good nap out of her. So many things to do. It’s hard to do it during the week, but the weekend is Christmas already?? I think I’ve picked a date for my girls’ bday party. It’s going to be rainbow/unicorn themed. Shocking.

I have to leave in about 10 minutes to take S to school. At some point today I have to try to fix the pants I made for H. We still have almost all of our shopping to do. And probably Christmas eve I'll end up going with my dad to shop for my Mom, since apparently he's incapable of doing it alone even after 30 years of marriage. I have no idea what he did before I was old enough to shop.

I have some news... I’m pregnant! We found out on Saturday. Baby #2 is due at the end of August. Debating whether to tell family at xmas. Because it’s so early but I think i will go ahead and tell parents and bro/ SIL (not nephews). We are still nursing and hoping that goes ok. We are excited!

Ugh. It’s a really bad year for the sickies. When I was in the ER with DD last week the nurse kinda warned me that they base it off of Australia since they are opposite seasons and I guess their winter was terrible.
Congrats @kelltothekell!!!! 😍

@kelltothekell, congratulations!! That is so exciting! I can't believe there are Aug. 18 due dates already. Wow!
you guys I just discovered that matilda jane takes paypal...I am in serious trouble. I have lots of paypal $ from my ibotta account. ut oh...dh doesn't need to know right? It's not hurting the budget and the kids look darn cute. Plus, no more girls so I better buy all the cute stuff while they're willing to wear it, right? Right??

In this weeks edition of weird or not...
Neighbor's grand kids just moved in. Oldest grand is homeschooled and thereby home all.day.long. My big goes to school. I do not want to visit with or entertain a school age child AT ALL during the day. That child is now building a snowman in my front yard. She has her own yard. wth? Also, when your kids go to other people's houses to play, do you expect they would be playing or would you be ok with video games? At 5 or 6 years old? Trying to gauge if I'm weird.

Congrats @kelltothekell!!! dizzycooks no I wouldn't mind. At least, not if that was the pre arranged plan. S rarely has anyone to play anything with, so I'd just be happy he had company. Plus, he's less bossy when playing games than any other time.

Also, dizzycooks is kids playing in other people's yards randomly a common thing where you Are? I would not be cool with that. Like, no. Keep your kids in your own yard, and I'll keep mine in mine. Otherwise what is the point of having your own yard? The kids all play everywhere here, but the yards are all connected and there's no choice. As soon as I get a fence there will be no random kids in my yard and it will be excellent.

Sorry. I'm being a PW, but I keep forgetting to say things. My BFF was unexpectedly home from work today (her child care, aka her MIL called in sick) and texted as I was heading out the door to see if M and I wanted to meet her and C at the mall. We ended up spending almost the whole school day there. C napped while we were There, but M would not, so as soon as we got home with S I put her down. Nothing I planned got done, but it was nice to hang out with my friend like we used to.

Our backyard is fenced and I would be pitching a fit if she was there. I’m irritated she was out front.

I've started to realize that my whole family thinks I'm exaggerating my social anxiety. And also that it's a joke. At the craft fair on Saturday, there were air cadets offering gift wrapping for donations. One of them, who was a high enough rank that he should have known better, was walking around chewing gum in uniform. Which is a huge no no. It was stressing me out, and my dad just asked why I didn't say anything to him. He didn't get that I can't just talk to people, especially if there's even the slightest chance that they'll react badly. And everyone else just kind of laughs it off, like "oh that Lollipop, she's so silly, and shy ".
I know I'm not as bad as some people, because there are people who have anxiety attacks at the thought of having to talk to people without being prepared in advance. But it's still annoying, because they all act like I choose to be this way. But trust me, I annoy myself. I would not be this way if I had a choice

I am alive! I just bigly suck at time management these days. DH has had a work trip every week since Thanksgiving. He gets home from his last one tonight! Hallelujah! @kelltothekell - squeeee!!! So excited for you! DS is an August birthday- hooray for pool birthday parties! Sorry for all of the sick LOs! Hope everyone feels better soon! lollipop - your family should believe you about your social anxiety- I am so sorry that they aren’t more supportive.

Omg I have been all over this morning and my mom called at 730 while I was getting dressed. I didn’t call back, I went about my business. She called at Noon. I was eating. I called her back at the house at 1230. Apparently I was suppose to call her cell bc she wasn’t home. She called me 4 more times between 1230 and 2 and then texted me before Showing up at my door ringing the door bell 3 times. Everyone is sleeping!! Including myself. She thought we were in the hospital or something. Needless to say I was not happy when I answered the door.

Dh and I (mostly i) spent the night puking. Fun. We got it from dd3, DDs 1+2 haven't had it yet. This is new for us- that we got it before the kids. It sucks, especially since we're both sick at the same time.

@kreardon is having her twins today!! crimsonandclover adult sickness sucks! Are you able to get the others to daycare and rest? Dh made me coffee before he left today and I’m hopeful I have a bit more energy. My mom isn’t calling me back now. I left her a vm apologizing for falling off the planet yesterday and not answering my phone all morning, but being passive aggressive by not accepting my call is annoying. Merry Christmas to us all. Bah humbug. I told dh I’m feeling very grouchy.

Oh no crimsonandclover! I’m so sorry you and H are sick. I hope you can get the kiddos off to daycare and rest up! dizzycooks seriously!?!? You have 3 kids and 1 on the way. You are not sitting there staring at your phone. I don’t get people who think it’s possible to instantly respond to calls and/or texts. I usually don’t have the mental bandwidth to donut until the kids are asleep so people just have to wait. I’m sorry she is being so passive aggressive. That’s the last thing you need right now. I’m so excited to see @kreardons babies!!! 🌈🌈 So many J16 mama’s are pregnant again and it’s wonderful! 😍

Today is my first day of vacation!!! I don’t go back to work until Jan 4th! So of course DS woke up with a fever. School doesn’t get out until Friday so he is staying home sick today. H’s Truck is broken so we are down to one vehicle at the moment. Not sure how I’m going to get what I need to done before Christmas but 🤷♀️ oh well. It won’t be the end of the world.

I HATE Walmart. Hate hate hate. I usually don’t shop there, but have had to deal with them multiple times this week because of Christmas present availability and grandparents ordering gifts for in store pick up. Such a hell hole both in store and on line.

nellieoleson I feel you in the Walmart hate. I’ve had to go in there because they’re the only store open 24hrs around here and I leave irritated every single time. I made my cookies, but need to make more bc they didn’t make enough. My mom called and apologized so that’s better. I’m meeting with a friend to discuss my entry into real estate tonight. We shall see how this goes. I’m going to collapse tonight.

nellieoleson I absolutely hate Walmart. I do everything I can to avoid going. However, my MIL works there so H always wants to go there. We see his mom enough we don’t need to go there to see her and deal with the stupid people. The only time I will deal happily with Walmart is when my MIL wants to spend her mega coupon that she gets for working Black Friday. It’s usually 15% + her normal 10% off very cart we fill. So we do that every year and get most of our Christmas/Birthday shopping done. The maybe lower prices are not worth my sanity. DD2 has had a random 102.3 fever for a week, 4 out of 7 days. One day it spiked to 103.5 5 hours after giving Motrin. So Monday we took her in. She has an ear infection and the possible start of bronchitis. Poor girl. Her pool bday party is Saturday on her birthday. How am I about to have a 2 year old?

I don't hate Wal-Mart, but we have no other choice for cheap/department stores here. We briefly had Target, but they didn't last long.
H and I are finishing the Christmas shopping tomorrow, Friday I'm going to be wrapping and baking (We need cookies for Santa), Saturday I'm going shopping with my dad and sister for my mom and then skating with my BFF and possibly having a sleepover, and Sunday I think we're going to my mom's for part of the day as usual. Somewhere in there I also need to clean and do laundry. My head might explode.

I missed @kelltothekell 's announcement - congratulations!!! And does anyone know how @kreardon's birth went? How are the twins?
My stomach is feeling more settled today, but I have a horrendous headache, probably from dehydration and caffeine withdrawal.
