Oh man with all these fevers! Feel better everyone. Making me nervous that I legit can't find ours. This apartment is a black hole sometimes.
Party was fine, I basically talked to John and a few families from school. I now need to bake some cookies that I can eat bc I've been surrounded by them all day but none are GF. I think a no bake oatmeal is in order.

tgrimes - Agreed on the second opinion. Is it possible a tube wasn't placed correctly?

She perked up a bit once we gave her some Motrin, so the pedi said to just sit tight and keep an eye on her. Big thing we are watching for is issues with the splint (if it's too tight, etc). But her toes look/feel normal and no other symptoms. They said fever is not unusual with a fracture, it's the body working to heal itself, or something (DH talked to him). She's asleep now; I will be on the phone with the orthopedist's office when their doors open in the morning.

I've been moody all day. I just feel angry. Then, mh said SIL wanted to know if we wanted to come over for Christmas and I started crying. I'm used to a certain meal and celebrating a certain way and his family does none of that. Hell, they likely won't even get Cadence a gift, or do what they did on Thanksgiving and lie to her about a gift they supposedly ordered, but that hasn't arrived in the mail yet. Uh, more like you never ordered anything. I told him he can take Cadence for lunch, but I'll be staying home and making dinner. This isn't how Christmas should be and I'm upset about it.

chrisy01 were you alone all day today? How did you get so much done? No. I went shopping alone and then C took LO to get his haircut for about a half hour. LO took a good nap but I had energy for some reason and LO was pretty calm today just wanting to play in the living room. It was amazing. I feel almost caught up.

I've been slowing reading all day but been super busy. Just caught up. So glad your nephew is on the mend and your sister has you to lean on emotionally. You're a good sister. tgrimes. Random story: I quickly told my mom what was going on when it first started and she immediately asked if he had a flu shot and assumed it was that syndrome (name is escaping me) she was super proud of her skills this morning when I told her. flamingo I hope C heals quickly and she's not to phased by the cast if she ends up with one. lfig I hope it corrects quickly and you're feeling better soon. I know I forgot some.

I baked all day yesterday and we had Christmas with my brother and his family today. It was loud but fun. My mom cried reading all the family night plans.

Hugs klong11 . I'm sorry for the tough family dynamics. I'm sure not having your dad around this year is contributing to your feeling off/sad, too. Would it be possible for your SIL's family to come to you guys instead? I can't recall if they have children or not. Who knows, maybe your SIL would prefer not to have to host. Holidays with my H's family are really different than with mine...I much prefer our celebrations and tbh, I think my H does, too. So I have learned to invite them to join us waaaaay in advance. Like, months. LOL. They don't always come but at least they were invited, and we get to do what we want regardless.

This has to be one of the hardest parts, right. When traditions that were are no more. I think you have to try hard to give yourself some grace to try to muddle through, but find some ways to make some new traditions while incorporating some parts you are used to (fav recipe, order of events, etc.). Obviously this is easier said than done..C is going to pull you through this though. Thanksgiving and all the bdays lately have been hard for me bc I spiral on the what-ifs, which is a fruitless exercise. It is heartbreaking that you are actually going through it though.

There was a Maltipoo at the party and that's all X cared about. No use for the bounce house, he just followed her around and tried to put her tail in his mouth and get her to lick his face. Eek. Thank goodness he's on ABX.

@73jewels Sorry, those were two unrelated comments re: flu vaccine and breastfeeding.
The flu vax thing was in response to wedding and the BF thing was just random stream of consciousness.
I get major anxiety when I think about BF though so I'm really not sure.

cagoldi do what is best for you and baby. If it's going to stress you out too much it might not be worth it. But if you do decide to try bf I'll be just a phone call away to talk.

cagoldi It doesn’t hurt to try breastfeeding, if you think it could benefit you, and if you hate it after a week then stop. But if the thought of even trying is too much for you, then don’t. It’s not worth the stress/anxiety.

I have an appt with the pedi tomorrow for H, so I’ll see what she says about his tubes. But if they’re draining, they should be doing their job, right? There’s a kid in H’s class that got tubes at 6 months & has had 8 EI since then.

Oh so I forgot that at the party, j's friend said "j you always do silly things at school and no one ever thinks it's funny, even the teachers don't". (!!!!!!!) J was clueless thankfully, I looked at him and he's making a funny face. But srsly though, that's super rude, right? I totally going to casually bring this up with the teachers tomor to see what the vibe is with this girl. I'm friendly with the mom, hence the invite.

tgrimes I think the tubes are doing their job if they are draining. I hope he gets well soon. Just think, when he's M's age he'll be the healthiest kid in school because he's already had all the virus strains Cadence was sick every other week her first year and a half and this year, nada. A little cold here and there, but nothing major. *Knocks on wood*

But since then it's pretty uncommon for him to come down with much.

Wow are we having a GS over here!
Today Dude ate: two jelly rolls, a bowl of strawberries, three apples, tons of grape tomatoes, applesauce pouch, countless pretzels, a little bowl of carrots, two slices of pizza, cake, chips, FOUR hot dogs, and 3 dinner rolls.
Not a banner day for eating but we were at a party all afternoon...
