How's everyone doing today?

Well...I slept until almost 6, I'd call that a win. I have a check up this morning with a OB I haven't met yet. Kind of looking forward to meeting her in case she ends up being my delivery doctor.
I'm curious to see if I'm dilated more after all the contractions and other symptoms I've been having that labor is near. She will also check to make sure he's head down since we couldn't tell 100% last visit.

I slept pretty bad. The toddler shared his cold with me plus giant pregnancy belly. I did have an appointment yesterday and they confirmed baby is head down. I think he is pretty well wedged in there now. But I don't think he is coming out anytime soon.

DD woke up at 1:30 and came in our room and I couldn't fall asleep until after 4 so I'm exhausted today. DH is still working through the new sleep meds that the VA put him on but I'm starting to get frustrated. I wake up early to get myself ready (putting on tights each day is getting to be harder and harder), get DD ready, get her breakfast, make my lunch, let the dogs out and feed the dogs. I know he has to get his meds regulated but it's so frustrating having to do everything in the morning especially this far along. Sorry for the rant, it's just so annoying.

Morning! DS’s Christmas concert is tonight and I’m so excited to see those little guys haha. It’s the first time the preschool joined the elementary school concert so they get to be a part of the big family Christmas night at the school! He told us yesterday they practiced in front of some big kids. So both of our parents are coming in too to watch. Otherwise fairly normal day, just continuing the countdown till H is off for Christmas break, 7 work days to go! Have a good one!

Woke up to pee at 3:30 and couldn't get back to sleep forever... I know this is typical but it is so annoying.

Sounds like we’re all becoming quite the crappy sleeping bunch. I fell asleep on the couch and woke up a little before one. Took me a while to get back to sleep.
I’ve had tons of period like cramps last night and this morning. Maybe the colace is doing something? I hope so, because ugh. Uncomfortable. I’m also super nauseous. Thankfully DH only works a half day on Thursdays and has five less paitients to see than he usually does. Maybe he’ll be home extra early.

Good morning! Add me to the no sleep club. I slept from 12-3:35 and then 5-6:40. I have also been almost nonstop busy since I woke up. I am currently sitting in my car outside of my dr office. I could go in but i am super early and I am pretty content sitting here watching cars go by. I am drinking some water and enjoying the quiet. After MH gets home from work I will be heading out to get my eyebrows done and a pedicure. I have a Christmas party to go to Saturday so I want to make myself look half decent. Lol

Toddler ended up in bed with me last night around 1:15, I think he was just cold though b/c he just wanted to snuggle close. I wish he would let me cover him up with blankets, he hates blankets. DH was in the guest room since I'm snoring at night and I "sound like a trombone".... All that said, I think I slept OK, all things considered. We had a snow delay this morning too but not a flake at my house. It was all in the northern zone of the county where I teach.

Two weeks ago when I had my ultrasound they said, “well he’s lying horizontally, but let’s not worry yet because there is plenty of time.” Then the doctor repeated that before she checked yesterday. Er, I wasn’t planning on worrying yet? Ten weeks seems like plenty of time for him to move a few inches? So then I got worried 😛 Fortunately he’s head down now, so I am hopeful he will stay that way. I am not surprised, definitely been getting some headbutt to the pelvis sensations.
DS is going to get some speech services because he’s 18 months and only has a couple words. DH and I are a little stressed about it, but he definitely understands us and is starting to use a couple words regularly. Hopefully some sessions with the SP will get him caught up without too much trouble.

Good morning!
I am normally in the horrible sleep club but I finally got a decent night of sleep last night. It was amazing.
I am on a never-ending conference call.... over 2 hours and counting.

Hello! I am frustrated with my daycare provider this morning. DD1 was sick Saturday night through Tuesday with a fever and cough. Yesterday her fever was gone and she was super energetic so I sent her to daycare. Within an hour the daycare lady called me to pick her up saying she was gagging, puking, and had a fever (not true on all 3 accounts). Today she closed because she is sick and she basically blamed me and shamed me to all the other parents because it was clearly the 1 hour that my not sick kid was there that made everyone sick 🙄 good riddance.
So now I am home with 2 crazy kiddos. It is the 4th day this week I have had kids home with me and have not been able to get anything done. I am going a little stir crazy. I guess this is a taste of what SAH will be like :-P

I just got my ultrasound results and am so relieved. I’ve been waiting 6 weeks to have this ultrasound, checking the stomach size. There was a risk of it becoming a double bubble which would have meant surgery and other complications. But everything is fine! It’s been a very stressful few months with other test results that were a bit off.
Now my amniotic fluid is a bit low and they will check it again next week. Worst case scenario is I would have to be induced early. I’ll take that over all the other risks that were present before.

I am home. Baby boy looks good. My dr is please with my glucose numbers and she said that everything seems to be on target. She mentioned that he will probably have to go to the NICU to keep an eye on his glucose levels after delivery but probably just as a precaution. She said because my levels have been fine, it shouldn’t be an issue. I am now laying on the couch. G is in bed but not yet napping. As soon as she knocks out, I will too.

I should probably ask my OB about this... My numbers (other than fasting, which I'm still struggling with) are fine and I would hope that she doesn't get an expensive trip to the NICU "just cause". I would think most L&D floors would have good monitoring available and the NICU would only be if there were issues. Then again, my OB things that twice a week NSTs are "needed" just because of my GD and AMA, so who knows...

peachesncream, that's so annoying. And blaming you to all the other parents, hell no. I would be pissed. Dylan has been out of school for 3 weeks now because of her diarrhea (which we believe is food/allergy related) because they will send her home if she has diarrhea and I'm annoyed at that. That's great news cake! And I'm sure the news has taken a lot of stress off of you!

Well... things are getting real! I'm 3 cm dilated, 50% effaced and he's at station -2. My OB is still out but this one let me know that she's on call this weekend and was said almost in a way of "I'll likely be seeing you again". Holy shit... I'm so not mentally prepared to go through labor.

I had her evaluated in March and we stopped services a couple months ago. She now speaks in fluent sentences and I can’t get her to stop!! I think we live fairly local to each other (from what I remember from back in the day when we shared our locations ) so if u have any questions feel free to ask!! Don’t be stressed about it though. I remember being SO strrsssed and anxious about it and it was silly of me looking back on it. I love EI. And it’s great that you’re advocating for him and getting him in sooner rather than later!

Then again, my OB things that twice a week NSTs are "needed" just because of my GD and AMA, so who knows... My drs reasoning actually made sense. She said when you have elevated glucose levels your body and baby’s body are trying to produce insulin to process it all. She said that after baby is delivered, its body is still producing a lot of insulin which can cause very low blood sugar levels. This has caused babies to slip into comas. Therefore there glucose levels are monitored in the NICU to see if anything needs to be given to even out the levels to prevent the blood sugar from getting too low. She said if your numbers are pretty well controlled, this is not usually a problem but most hospitals will do it as a precaution for GD patients no matter what.

marygracerich, aprilz81 it must differ from doc to doc because mine said my sugar baby probably wouldn't have to go to the NICU since my numbers have been controlled. Hmmm. jessijean wow!! You getting close!

I had such a bad morning at work I kept hoping I would just go into labor. Lol.
Count me in on Team No Sleep. Sigh. We better get used to this team. We are about to all be sleep deprived zombies.

You getting close! My numbers have been very well controlled. She said she would not send him to the NICU if it was her choice. However she said most (obviously not all) hospitals send the baby there at least for a little while for testing as a precaution.

Anyone else heard this or a different version of this?

It looks like G is not going to nap today. This is the worst possible day for her to not nap. I am incredibly tired and I really need some sleep. I cannot do unless she does. I may actually cry right now.

sarahh oh my gosh, that is insane! 3 weeks?! Poor you and poor kiddo. yellow711 my friend is pregnant at 37 and I may be getting this wrong but the 35+ was a recent recommendation from ACOG and has not been put into practice everywhere yet. I think she said that her OB said it was controversial for some reason but I don't remember the details.
