Owwww the worst bonus I ever gotten? I had a masters degree in pedagogy and educational sciences. Paid jobs were hard to find at that time, so I took a sort of intern position at a school for children with learning disabilities and behavioural problems. I worked there two days a week for a year. They did not even acknowledge my last day, not even some flowers or a card. I was really hurt.

peachsmama and inthekitty I was so shocked I didn’t even have a snappy comeback. I just giggled nervously. And then she said he husband also read every and if I wanted to wait a few minute she could come Over and few My stomach and confirm that it was a girl. Spoiler alert: I did not wait. cagoldi the Chinese gender chart was actually right with all three boys and this time it says girl, so I guess we will see! 🤷🏼♀️ maybe crazy was right!?

C is a super chill baby so far but I'm really hurting more than I ever remember. Nurses said it could be the tubal or the number of CS's I have had. They also stopped giving the good pain meds they used to give. Before my CS, they asked if I would donate my placenta to make skin grafts for burn victims. I never heard of that before but I did it because I thought it sounded nice. What pain meds did you get? They had ne on percocet when I had L 20mo ago. I'm sorry you're hurting!! Very interesting about the placenta and skin grafts, I've never heard that before.

I hear it more for college/university positions but my sister had automatic tenure at her school district after 3 years of employment.

Yep, I use the word incorrectly. tgrimes is correct give (someone) a permanent post, especially as a teacher or professor. "I had recently been tenured and then promoted to full professor"

They can give you a temporary contract 3x, for a maximum of 3years. After that you automatically have a permanent position and it becomes really hard to fire someone. ETA punctuation is hard apparently, as is spelling.

C is looking a bit yellow now after the ped yesterday said he had the lowest bilirubin she ever saw and I have a low fever. Hopefully we can pull it together overnight.

So I told the recruiter I would confirm if I was accepting the job or not by the end of business today. I haven't heard anything else from our CEO since this morning, when he told me he was waiting to get the letter of intent from a company, which would cause me to stay, and he expected it this afternoon. It's driving me nuts because I just want this decision to be made, but I am so worried about making the best decision.

Then I’m heading to HIIT class. A little said about getting my fresh hair all sweaty.

ETA punctuation is hard apparently, as is spelling. At the university level you apply for tenure by completing a big portfolio. You could be turned down and still employed and fry again the next year. It is based on the number of publications and grants you have and your teacher evaluations. "Publish or perish". Big issue in academia these days is that if you don't have a grant you can't afford to conduct research and you can't publish. And you can't get a grant unless you have published. It can also mean "a person's tenure at the company" mwhip which would indicate length of time

Our cat Figaro, is playing us all. My mom mentioned the other day that he would only eat treats now, no cat food. I'm like "well I feed him cat food every morning when I get up" And Alex is like "I feed him every morning when I get up, before you're up" and I'm like " I also feed him when I get home from work" So this fat cat is getting four meals a day between the three of us. He seems pretty satisfied with himself.

Ugh I'm having shipping drama. Tomorrow is the last day of Secret santa and I ordered a pet picture frame ornament from pottery Barn last week bc my person is obsessed with his dog..and Christmas since he has a legit table top tree in his cube. Well of course it is scheduled to arrive tomorrow 🤦. I'm so annoyed.
Also I ordered 3 coats from old Navy for a sponsor a family last Friday when puffy coats were $15 each. I thought it'd be nice for the 3 kids to have coordinating coats, so I paid shipping for it to be here by Friday. Then it said scheduled to arrive on Friday. Thankfully they waived the shipping fee and I've coordinated with the contact that I can drop off late if needed.
But minted pulled through, ordered Sunday and cards arrived with free priority shipping by Tues night! Of course I got them all stamped last night but forgot to actually mail them. 🤦 again.

M hasn’t been himself since last night.
**warning: poop talk ahead**
He said his butt hurts. My first thought was constipation, even though he is a pretty regular kid. He’s like clockwork when it comes to that.
He said he didn’t want to because it hurt. I couldn’t talk him into it and he said he wanted to go to bed, and he did. When he woke up this morning he was fine. Before he and MH left, I asked him to go, but he said he didn’t have to and felt fine and was himself. Fast forward to mid day, and we get a email from his teacher that he isn’t himself- really clingy and not eating or drinking or playing, but no fever. MH picks him up and he had just pooped. He said he felt better. They get home and he says he’s tired and wants to nap. While napping, he poops in his pull-up, and goes back to sleep after MH cleans him. He says it hurts to wipe, but there is no diaper rash. He poops again after he finishes his nap. He seems ok when I get home, but still not quite himself. All he wants to do is lay down and watch TV. He drank a little and ate cheez-it’s and just went back to sleep.
Anyone ever experience anything like this with a kid? Is this normal for constipation, even after they go? Should I be worried that it’s something different? No other symptoms. If he’s the same in the morning, I’ll be calling the pedi, but I’ll take any advice or insight in the meantime.

Also I plan our holiday party, so clearly it's good. LOL. We have it in January when everyone is a bit less busy. We rent a room at a local restaurant from 6-10 on a Friday night. It's a buffet meal with open bar, and we do a Yankee swap of sorts. The social committee supplies the gifts and they range in value from $5 to over $100, averaging around $25. It's fun stealing each other's gifts even if you don't end up with something amazing. Everyone seems to enjoy themselves and more people come each year.

lahdeedah j actually seems mostly fine when constipated. Like we don't realize it's happening and then we both compare notes and realize he hasn't pooped in a few days. I wonder if he has a little bug and it's cleaning him out a bit? Hope he feels better soon.

I ended up emailing our controller about other work stuff and asked her what she would do, in my position. She said she would stay, she isn't concerned anyone will lose their jobs and thinks the future of the company is good.
Which is what my gut was telling me. I sent the email to the recruiter, very professional, telling I was sorry for the company I was turning down the offer to, I recognize what a great opportunity it is, but I feel staying with my current company is best for me and my career at this time. I then emailed my boss, CEO and hr and confirmed I would be staying with them, based off our conversation the previous day.
Of course the recruiter called me and asked if the other company could meet the salary my company is offering, would I consider accepting. I told her I wasn't sure. Turns out they couldn't offer anymore.
I had the worst damn headache by the time I left the office!
