It’s a new week so new randoms!
My kids have picked a horrible time to troll me. M has decided sleep is no longer her thing, day and night, omg 😞. I might cry. She started again at midnight and was up off and on all night. She finally went in the RnP for a couple hours early this morning. The toddler had me and MH up and down like 5 times too, wtf?! This is not a good place to be with surgery a week out. I’m getting really anxious.

Ugh I thought we had D's nighttime bedtime routine pretty well sorted but these past days it has been such an ordeal and it takes 1h30 to 1h45m to get her to settle and sleep. Even nursing her to sleep is no longer fail proof! 😲😕

Will you have to stay overnight after surgery? Hugs

So this leap has been good and bad for us. The good is that j is sleeping 10 hours at night with only 1 wake up. The bad is that he is so clingy, wants to be carried around, and is getting hard to put down for his naps.
Question about naps...will he just naturally start taking less naps or do I have to some how fix that at some point? He takes 5 now but I keep reading that it should go down to 3 in the next month or 2 but I can't imagine how we can do that.
1 week from today I go back to work and I'm not ready.

king26 Naps - they sort of just work out on their own. Like, they’ll start staying awake longer and the naps will get a little longer.

I had a super bad sore throat last week. I had a couple bad headaches that caused blurry vision. I’m on day 8 of my period and the last 3-4 days have been a super heavy flow. And, my 3.5 year old is an asshole most of the time, but then will be super cute for two minutes.

muscari, no staying thank god. It’s outpatient same day. I just don’t know how bad the pain will be and trying to recover while caring for high maintenance leap baby right now 😂 king26, I feel like they just start getting on a nap routine as time goes. I’m definitely not used to a baby that does not nap at all during the day. I really hope this changes soon.

Today was DS1 birthday. My little baby is 3 or really a threenager. We had his birthday this past Saturday (dinosaurs) and he had a blast. It’s been a cray like no weekend, plus this little guy loves to wake every 1.5 hours.
Hoping for a better night so I can just sleep!
I also now have some weird family drama. Luckily most of the family is on my side..

I miss sleep. Both kids have decided to wake up multiple times a night. And I cannot figure our J's naps. My daughter transitioned herself through naps and was predictable until about 1. He is all over the place with short and long naps that I cannot figure out a pattern. He will fall asleep at night by 9:30 or 10 but then all bets are off as to how long he will sleep.
This is pissing me off because before we went away for Thanksgiving both were basically going through the night with one possible wake up for her and one feeding for him. I am over this...

Man, the more I read about the 4 month sleep regression, the more I get stressed because we are in it. The complete lack of naps here are awful too. I just don’t know what to do?!

Plus for me I am trying to remember if it was this bad with my first. It might have been, but since he was a crappy sleeper to begin with I didn’t notice, plus I ended co-sleeping with him more. Either way it’s been rough, I actually broke my co-sleeping rule again last night. I just needed sleep.

And of course I stayed up 2 hours after putting j down because he's been sleeping so well and he was up after 4 hours. DH is currently snoring so loudly I'm afraid to take j back in there. I'm sure he will wake up again since it's so early.

I am trying to not go down the google rabbit hole when it comes to the 4mo sleep regression cause I will just get overly anxious and OCD. Tho at the same time I wonder what I can expect. Anyone cares to summarize the most important things to look out for?? Tho I guess it is hard to miss a waking baby MOTN.

I can’t remember with my first because it was one big constant regression lol. Hope things improve for you too soon!

If you care to read or don’t feel too anxious, this kind of completely sounds like what was my life prior to now lol. Pretty much all the recommendations are not what I’m doing but that shit is hard when your so effing tired community.today.com/parentingteam/post/tips-to-conquer-the-4-month-sleep-regression

I haven't been around much. Sorry ladies. We are all sick (well, E isn't yet and I'm hoping she doesn't get it). She's also in the leap and went from going to sleep easily and sleeping through the night or 1 wake up to now up 2-3 times and not wanting to go back to sleep. Add in a few toddler wake ups from coughing and it's been super fun around here lately.
And H has been taking Nyquil because he's sick too. But I refuse for both of us to take it because it knocks us out. So...that means I don't get to because he always does. 😑

jt2378, sorry for the added stress of the regression to your upcoming surgery. Hopefully it’ll be ok! A is barely taking cat naps at this point as well. addymac, I hope the perfect nanny with the perfect price comes to you soon! muscari, honestly there’s really no need to stress about the regression. It’s something that will blow through your house like a hurricane and then hopefully they’ll be calm after the storm. Lol at least, that is what I tell myself.
