So I had more discharge and cramping this afternoon so I went in just to be safe. Baby girl looked great and was moving all over the place so it took awhile for them to get the monitors in place. But it didn't pick up any contractions and my cervix is still closed. She checked my cervix and said there are some inflamed blood vessels so that with sex caused the bleeding.
I feel a little dumb for going but feel so much better that I went. The midwife was so nice about it and now I won't be anxious all weekend.

We let DD CIO last night. It was AWFUL. I’m not sure who cried more, me or her. She goes to sleep just fine (and we are careful to leave her room while she’s still awake) but she’ll wake up multiple times a night in hysterics. Going in to check on/reassure her has always made it worse.
Remind me to be better about sleep training in infancy with this LO please. I won’t survive another kid that doesn’t STTN for 2+ years.
It was supposed to snow all night but it just started and should last all day. No sledding now since the ground won’t be cold enough for anything to stick. /ramble.

Me and my sister are throwing my dad a surprise retirement party today. I didn't think we would get away with it being a surprise once I got in town, but we seem to have succeeded. I will say that I think I'm most excited about the food. My sister decided that she wanted to do a Thanksgiving part 2, and I'm ok with it.

MH, FIL, and I are going to a red wings game this afternoon. We’ve gone to one every year since we started dating and we figured we better go now because it’s not likely we’re going to be driving a few hours to Detroit much longer since we’ll be getting close to baby time. And then once baby is here, we’ll be uhhh... busy. They have a new arena this year and H is super excited to see it. I have a feeling there will be some red wings baby items purchased today.

Safe travels! I'm not sure the weather where you are, but we have a steady fall of snow. We're at about an inch or so, so I'm sure the roads are complete shit. Also, I'm curious to what you think of the arena. I think we're going to MSU/UofM hockey game in a couple weeks to check it out. I loved JL, though, so I'm already not a huge fan.

The Christmas party last night wasn't too bad. It was in an old church that was converted into a house so I was excited to go just to see that!!
This morning...Em woke up with these random wet spots all over herself and her bed. It wasn't too wet and it didn't smell like anything so I thought maybe drool, even though it was in weird locations for drool.
Well a half hour later, after drinking some OJ, she starts throwing up all over. Soo I think she has some stomach thing going on. She's never thrown up before, is there anything I need to do?
I'm so glad gymnastics was cancelled due to the snow and she threw up at home and not like in the foam put hahaha.
But of course my H has an inspection this AM so I'm in this myself. And if I get a stomach bug on top of my normal pregnancy nausea.... Ugh.

cornpop I would just give her a bit of time and then make sure she has some fluids - small sips if you can. Later in the day, bland things like crackers, rice, bananas etc that are easy on the stomach. I’m battling this myself today. H works nights so it’s going to be an interesting day - I wasn’t even keeping down water earlier. Gonna be watching a lot of paw patrol and possibly interrupting Hs sleep if I need. Ugh.

tinyjoys The arena is super nice! I was a compete zombie the whole time (poor sleep and whatever this cold/sinus thing is) and the game itself sucked. It definitely lacks the character the Joe had, but it’s new and shiny and they had this loaded mac and cheese with bbq pulled pork that was delicious so I’d go back for that alone. We sat on the 3rd level so it was tight quarters which I don’t remember at the Joe. Like my toes were touching the back of the seat in front of me and my heels were under my seat. Not great for this pg girl. Hope you guys have fun if you go soon!

Well 2 1/2 years in, I reached a new parenting milestone today... Getting projectile vomited on. Luckily it was pretty much just water. I felt so bad because it just kept coming.

We had our annual cookie baking day with my mom, aunt, and grandma. Dd had a great time and we made a lot of delicious holiday goodies! H and FIL made a lot of progress on the basement reno- mostly just waiting for flooring to go in now🙌🏻

My GTT results got posted to my online patient portal today, and I passed with flying colors! I want to be careful about how I'm eating over the holidays because I feel like the weight is just packing on, but I'm glad that I will be able to indulge a little in my mom's baking. Leaf 🌱 Sleep woes are SO hard, especially as they get older. If you want support and a science-based, judgment-free group, I can't recommend enough the Precious Little Sleep Facebook group. Her book and website both have awesome articles and tools for setting your kiddo up for sleep success from the outset. No, she doesn't say to have a newborn or 2 m/o CIO, but she talks about how to start establishing good, age-appropriate sleep habits like a bedtime routine and that kind of thing. www.preciouslittlesleep.com/baby-sleep-guides/ I think she even has a section on toddler/preschooler sleep. Anyway, I just wanted to send lots of support and hugs your way.

Yay for a good result katietopaz!! And thank you for the rec/support. Sleep has always been hard for DD and none of the “gentle” sleep techniques ever worked for her. It looks like one night of tough love was enough to get us on the right track though - she woke up twice but put herself back to sleep really quickly last night! cornpop I hope things turn around at your house! Sounds like a day of ordering soup and Netflix is a safe bet for y’all today. We’re headed to see Santa this afternoon and I’m trying to lower my expectations. DD seems super into it (and was fine with characters at Disney) but you never know. Any recs for acid reflux and fire burps from hell? Tums are a serious aversion for me thanks to eating them like candy during DD’s first tri. Maybe some ACV?

cornpop I hope your DD is feeling better today. I'm sitting in the airport waiting for my connecting flight to go home. My dads party yesterday was really nice. He was pretty shocked when he walked in. I think my favorite part was him seeing my uncles and asking them what were they doing there. They both live out of state, so he doesn't see them very often. It was also pretty nice seeing his coworkers teasing him a bit. It's just a side of my dad that I don't get to see very often.

katietopaz, quick question about the clothespin cookies! I can't find thank you brand pudding, maybe because I'm in Canada? But is it an instant pudding powder that you add into the filling, or is it actually a premade pudding?

So I caught my daughter's stomach bug...
This pregnancy, man...
I've been laying in bed for almost 4 hours and still feel exhausted. Do I need to call the OB at some point?

I caught my sons’s 24 hour bug around 25 weeks with my second. It ended up lasting about 48. I called my OB & he said as long as she was moving, there was no worries & to try more popsicles or Gatorade instead of trying to get water into my stomach. They’re gentler when the tummy is irritated, whereas water tends to want to bounce.

Luckily G hasn’t caught it yet. I would watch for fever and take Tylenol as needed to keep the fever down. Of what I read yesterday, try to keep yourself hydrated since that will help blood flow through the umbilical cord for baby. And as tinyjoys said - watch for movement. Feel better!

I have also been having weird stomach issues. I was all cramped up and sick last night and today I just feel off and still a little gross. So far it's only me. I think I am also catching my kids cold so, that's fun.

Apparently weird stomach bugs and the flu are literally everywhere. My sister had to go to walk-in/urgent care for a booster shot and she said every one looked like they were dying. The NP said everyone is coming with one of the two I know it’s freezing out but Gatorade popsicles and slushies always seem to help me feel better! auri I’m so glad his party went well!

Wahhh I told DD she couldn’t have any treats if she didn’t eat her dinner and she DGAF. I really wanted to make (read: EAT) a ginger bread house tonight. Toddlers man 🤦🏼♀️

Please tell me that just because I'm miserable during this pregnancy, it's not going to rub off on the baby? I'm really scared she's sucking up all of my negativity and is going to come out miserable

Right now, my kid is just a jerk, so we'll see what they come out like.
