tinydancer - we have one of the chairs from Target. I found on clearance and got it for some ridiculously low price. We bought it for dd1 right after dd2 was born so she could have her own special chair like the baby had her own special chair. Dd1 was never into it. She has rarely sat in it. Dd2 adopted it as her own as soon as she could climb into it. Now neither of them use it other than pretending it’s a diving board to jump off of onto dd2’s bed. Also - I really don’t think personalization matters. It’s not like it’s going to be some family heirloom or something. Andplusalso- I think last year PB did a big sale on the their chairs - maybe around Black Friday? So maybe wait for that if you decide to go that route

No anywhere chair here. My kids prefer to jump on the little bit of furniture we do have I’m starting to stress about childcare for next fall. I was set on $$ daycare for all three, but now I’m wondering if keeping the little two home would be a relief. I’d expect dd1 to stay home and take the bus as well if that were the case. She’d be a home about an hour and a half with the littles. Dd2 needs prek so she needs to go to daycare bc giving the nanny car that accommodates 3-4 seats is not an option. However, I’m thinking I can write in some clause about caring for dd2 if she’s too sick for daycare right? Like do nanny’s keep sick children? Mildly ill, not vomiting everywhere? scorpioscuba you have a nanny right? Ttm about her duties and what the day is like for them.

Mildly ill, not vomiting everywhere? scorpioscuba you have a nanny right? Ttm about her duties and what the day is like for them. I do have a nanny part time, 3 days a week. My biggest pro to having a nanny for DD is not having to get multiple kids ready in the morning for various drop offs/pickups and coordinating those times. And I only have 2 kids, I cannot imagine x3 or 4! The nanny comes at 7am and basically takes care of getting DD breakfast and dressed for the day, etc. She has a car seat and she takes her to toddler programs at the library, the park or music class. They come home for lunch and then she puts DD down for a nap. DD is usually just waking up by the time H comes home with DS from school. While DD is napping, my nanny is expected to clean up any dishes or toys etc that they used/played with. Other than that I am good with her using the time to study since she is in school. Sometimes she will pick DS up from school if needed or also watch him if he has an early release day or something. She does watch DD if she is sick. For me it depends on how sick DD is. If she is really sick, DD just wants me so I would take the day off. I think you would want to make your expectations clear with your nanny up front and let them decide if they are ok with that. Mine is super flexible and always offers to grocery shop, help prep dinner etc. We love her!

tinydancer my ideas for LOs xmas & birthday (not sure what we will go with): -play kitchen -small table/ chairs (like the link discussed) -calico critters -I got a few books already -she LOVES horses so want to incorporate that somehow -outdoorsy riding apparatus of some kind. maybe this: plasmacar.com/-she's into babies so maybe baby crib or baby stroller.... I'll probably get one bigger thing, one smaller thing and some books for xmas and bday.

Dd2 is STILL waking too early since the time change. Yesterday was her latest sleep of the week and she was up before 5:30. 😢
She has adjusted to bedtime, so I don’t know what the deal is. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

For Christmas presents I’m not sure what to get dd2. We have pretty much all the toys already.
We have the ikea play table linked to earlier in dd1’s room with a paw patrol playset on it. Dd2 really likes to sit and play with it, so I think I’ll get her her own table and chairs and some kind of playset, too?
I have no idea what else.
For her birthday we will get her a balance bike.

I'm escaping the house for a few hours this afternoon and going to my mom's house to do some crafts with her and my sister. I'm working on a blanket for our niece.

scorpioscuba and they wash off easily? We had our bathroom renovated 2 years ago and I’m very protective of the tile and grout.

I met theoprah today! We took the kids to the zoo and explored all the wonderful indoor things bc it’s COLD here today. The girls met and played and there were hugs all around. I’m thrilled she thought of me when she was in the area. Anyone here would be lucky to meet her and her sweet kids.

My MIL called to bitch about how they never see us again. And apparently H doesn't talk to SIL enough either. We were going to go see them this weekend, but they've apparently been spending most of their time at SIL's house cooking and doing laundry, so I don't know how we're supposed to go to their house when they aren't even home. And we would've gone to SIL's bit I've got a sore throat so I didn't think she'd want us around the baby.

It was called Revival #7 - basically a version of a Manhattan. It was a foggy, rainy night so whiskey was in order. When are you due again? April, I think? Are you Team Green?

dizzycooks, theoprah, cute picture and it sounds like your GTG was fun!! It's a new week so I should probably start a new thread, but I'm definitely feeling lazy today. We are still in the midst of teething hell with DD3 - her one canine looks like it's about to come through, but that means there are still 3 more to go, and when she opened her mouth wide yesterday it kind of looked like there were the little pre-teeth dents where her upper 2nd year molars will come in. So it's possible we're teething canines and 2nd year molars at once. That would explain a lot.

Re xmas presents I am doing board books with family pictures for L and her cousin, two and four legged family of course. My mom just told me she got both girls balance bikes. Apart from the L is loving music so we want to get her a kiddo radio or something along those lines. She loves singing along to things so i feel like this would be a hit. Today in the car she was singing with "Georgia on my mind" and cracking me up because she would hum and able and then scream Georgia. Re baking- I want to make my own peppermint bark. But I think that's probably it.

dizzycooks, just to add in re the nanny, my nanny also watches LO when he's sick. She also gets paid sick/vacation days, so if she feels he's too sick for her to be around then she can take one of her sick days. He's never been that sick though - we've never had to go to the doctor for illness - so it hasn't been an issue yet. If he got really sick or for an extended period we'd have to rethink the arrangement I'm sure. You can definitely negotiate the arrangement so that it works for you - schedules, number of kids, responsibilities, sickness, etc. I've used care.com to find nannies, and there's actually an option for "will watch sick kids" so I think it's a common thing that families talk about.

scorpioscuba and they wash off easily? We had our bathroom renovated 2 years ago and I’m very protective of the tile and grout. So that's a really good point. For us they do. But we have cultured marble slap walls above our bathtubs. MUCH different than grout. I'd probably test it first in an inconspicuous area or just avoid it all together. That's a bummer.
