scorpioscuba so sorry. It's tough to watch our babies like that and even tougher on no sleep. Maybe put on frozen and snuggle on the couch? I don't have any good ideas but hope you guys get some sleep.

Blah. Dd2 was up at 5 today. FIVE! She has been much better about crazy early wake ups, so I don’t know what’s going on with her. It’s such a crappy way to start the day - spending an hour futilely hoping she will go back to sleep. So. Damn. Tired. scorpioscuba - I hope your dd’s cough settled down and you guys got some rest.

Let it go, let it go... My theme for today. My mom told me today she can’t take the kids overnight next week bc she’s going to be spending the following day sitting at someone’s during his wife’s funeral. Apparently sitting at someone’s house during a funeral is a thing? Bc people break in? And it’s serious work bc she can’t have the kids spend the night prior bc she’d be tired. I am going to find a sitter. Dh and I had plans I’d rather not cancel. I also get to have a conversation with my manager about how if they are offering childcare as a job perk, they need to change diapers. A new policy states they won’t and I need to have someone available to do it for me while I work. Well, uh, if someone was available they’d be watching my children! Or my kid needs to sit in it, which, fine, it’s not that long, but Monday they came and interrupted my class twice in 45 minutes to tell me I needed to change her. Deep breaths. I am so glad it’s Friday. scorpioscuba I am sorry your night was so rough. Dd3 did a little better, but she coughed a lot in her sleep.

dizzycooks - your mom has to sit at someone’s house?? So she can’t babysit? That has got to be unbelievably frustrating. I’ve never heard of that being a thing. Do they also do it during weddings and baptisms? Or sporting events? I mean, come on. It sounds like an old person chain email conspiracy...

She worked for a security firm and they got calls about it a lot.

dizzycooks, that totally sounds like something my MIL would do/say. I'm so sorry. And I'm also sorry for all the sick kids! I hope they all start feeling better soon. theoprah's flight is delayed, so I think the live blogging will have to wait until tomorrow since we'll probably just crash when we get back

Yesterday afternoon one of S's friends came to see if he could go out to play. We said no, not until he finished his homework (letter writing, sight words and rhyming words, it takes about 20 minutes when he's focused). She said ok and went away. A few minutes later, she came back and said the he's not supposed to have homework in grade 1, and she should know, she's in grade 2. I lol'd because I'm sure she had the sight words and rhyming words last year, her mom probably just didn't call it homework.

Sent DH with DDs 1+2 to swimming lessons and put DD3 + theoprah down for a nap. The house is so quiet... (p.s. theoprah went for a nap voluntarily, unlike DD3, who did not want her play session interrupted)

I just brought theoprah to the airport and am now back at home bathing the DDs. I can highly recommend her as a houseguest- she doesn't complain even if you make her march all over cute German towns and up mountains.

So everyone in my house is sick. The little two have terrible coughs. Dh and I have coughs and colds. The middle one has a fever. I really wish my kids could sit for a movie day. They last about 45 minutes. I am so tired. Soup is in the stove and I’m planning on serving leftovers or soup to anyone who wants to eat. I also need to Clorox my entire house. Ugh.

DD's fever finally broke. So that's good. And she isn't coughing as much. But her throat must be still pretty swollen. She finally wants to eat but can't really because she chokes and pukes. Its so sad.
