Morning. J has woken up the past two days with soaked pj's and a full diaper. It's weird because he's definetly cut back on nursing and he's not drinking any more water than usual. Guess I'll size him up a diaper at night.
I have B's EI appt today at 3. I'm hoping this time he qualifies. In the mean time I'm trying to keep my house clean and organized. The therapists said they don't care how clean your house is but they are lying through their teeth and I know it.

I wish! I'm extra tired this morning. C woke up at 4:45, before my alarm even went off. I usually get myself ready before I have to take care of him but today I didn't have time. Then H miraculously got out of bed before 6 and I thought he would be helpful. He changed C's diaper while I made a bottle, then he tried to hand him to me. I was like uhh I need to finish getting ready. Then I went downstairs to make lunch and coffee and get C's diaper bag ready. Came upstairs to H watching TV while C was standing against the bed, still in his PJs with the outfit I set out 3 feet away from him. So I had to change him and get dressed myself then went back downstairs and fed the dog, all while H showered. I love that man to death but he's useless in the AM.

I know it's Friday but my confession today is that I did not shower this morning. Too tired and I needed to get into work early. #notsorry

My H kept me up snoring half the night. The baby is sleeping fine! So I went and slept on the couch. Last time I looked at the clock was 5am. O woke up at 5:45am. FML. I'm so mad at H even though he can't control it.
Also I need to lose this baby weight. 20lbs to be exact. The "I just had a baby" excuse is no longer cutting it 10 months out.

This was me the other night, except it was him coughing and shaking the whole bed. But it has been snoring before too. It was 3 a.m. and I just said fuck it and went to the couch. It's very frustrating! Also re: baby weight, come into the Healthy Living thread! A lot of us are feeling similarly.

I'm tired. H was up 3 times before 12am (and continued all night). Normally if he had an extra wakeup I just rock him (no milk). But last night he just screamed all night. At one point he nursed for an hour straight. My poor nipples. I did feel the sharp edge of a new tooth this morning, thats 2 this week. He also made it all the way up 2 flights of stairs this morning while my back was turned. I swear he's trying to knock some years off my life.

lol waitwhat! They are for sure lying about not caring what your house looks like. Good luck today! Does B have any words yet? I know DS1 didn't start talking until a couple months after he turned 2. He's still behind where other kids his are though, so it's great that you're trying to get B into EI!

He's still behind where other kids his are though, so it's great that you're trying to get B into EI! He knows a handful of animal sounds, ball, mama, and signs for more. There's a few times out of no where I've (and others) have heard him say a word randomly which makes me think he's just fucking with me. Like one time he said tablet and grandma. Lol. Probably just a fluke. I know boys tend to be slower with speech but I'm so sick of everyone asking me if he's talking more yet. It's frustrating and it's tough not to compare him to other kids his age so I'm really hoping he'll qualify this time. I bet your DS1 will catch up soon! The therapists here told me for boys 2.5-3 yrs is huge and that's when they really start talking. Who knows. ETA your DS1 was never in daycare right? Was he a thumb sucker by any chance?

Am I the only one that honestly doesn't care what other people's houses look like? When they're too clean they make me feel like shit about myself. Lol.

danib we're going through the same scenario over here too. I don't understand what's going on. My nipples hurt and the blood curdling screaming makes my heart race.

Any of the STMs here have a shy or slow to warm up kid? If so any tips or tricks for me? In our house M's personality is hilarious but take her anywhere that she gets attention on her and she shuts down.

cookswithwine my H started snoring in the past 6 months and I spend many nights just glaring at him. waitwhat good luck with the appt today! I often wonder about the daycare thing and if the lack of whatever is going to do something with M's development. Like I'm not doing enough or something stupid and ridiculous like that. tgrimes I give zero shits about other people's houses. Only mine. But I'm paranoid that everyone can see every dust mote in and around the house when they come over.

Now not only am I the only mom who doesn't know someone in her baby music class, but she's the only one who just sits there on my lap refusing to interact at all. I'm 95% whatever about it, 5% bummed.

So it may just be that with M. She may grow out of it as she gets older!

Yep tgrimes I'm like sophiegrace I do not care at all about someone else's house if it's messy, I just always think mine is a war zone and that people are gonna judge me bc of it. Granted I grew up in a house that was wayyyyy too tiny for the number of people it was sheltering and thus it was a literal disaster every day and people did make comments so I'm scarred by that. FTR we are talking 6 kids and 2 adults in a two bedroom, one bath, 800 sq ft duplex. waitwhat That he said tablet and grandma really makes me think he's screwing with you guys BUT if EI can pull some of those thoughts and words out of him then I do hope he qualifies.

I have no idea what mine are like with other kids except for one experience which was that Labor Day partywe went to. They immediately pushed off us to get on the round and go play but I found them more interested in the toys than the other kids there. AV was a little more outgoing in that at one point she followed the 1.5 year old around. Maybe I'm holding hem too much. I haven't seen them interact with my sisters kids much but I should prob start trying that. I assumed bc they had each other we'd be fine but I'm reconsidering that logic bc they're always in the house alone with me or my mom.

Anyone have a fool proof method for getting rid of fruit flies? They are awful this year. I have a mason jar filled with rotting fruit on my counter that a few are trapped in. But just as I think I've trapped them all, there's about 10 more sitting on the mason jar or flying around my kitchen.

Can pick out anything in a book, point to anything you ask him to. He just doesn't verbally express himself with words.

I totally get it! He has made huge improvements in the last year. I still can't really have a conversation with him, but he is starting to say more complete sentences like, "shoes on and walk to car" when he wants to go somewhere. Or "be nice to Tyson's ears!" when he's playing with the dog. Usually any question I ask him is met with "no" even if the answer is yes. He also doesn't shake or nod his head and never has, IDK what to make of that. Correct, no daycare. And no thumb sucking either.

We have little bowls with red wine, apple cider vinegar, and dawn dish soap all around our kitchen. Those little shits were everywhere. The dawn makes them sink as soon as they hit the liquid.

I don't ever judge someone's house, and also prefer it if it's a little messy. But I'm always afraid of people judging my house. Probably because my mom and grandma always judge my house. And also clutter in my home makes me anxious. I don't know why.

sophiegrace M is still shy when we get around new people. My SIL took her to a nursing home (her friend works there) and all of the residents were ooing and awing over her. She was embarassed and wouldn't talk to any of them.
