Not really.
But real confession, I sit in my car and play on my phone when my kids have soccer practice. The social norm is for most parents to sit on the sides and talk to each other and cheer for their kids and whatever. During practice. Especially on the 4 yr olds team. Yo. I get 1 hour of kid free time during the day and that's when they're at soccer. DNW to talk to soccer moms about how cute little Joey is in his cleats. On Tuesday all of the sideline parents started a cheering and chanting game along with the kids while they practiced. Whatever dude. I will not be pressured to participate. I got a group text the next day about how nice practice was and how it was so great for "almost all of the parents present to participate in practice". Whatever dude. Still don't care. Still won't participate next week.

I rolled my eyes several times reading your "confession" (not towards you, towards the crazy parents). Who wants to watch their kid practice? And what kid wants their parent to watch them practice? Crazies, that's who.

There are 30 voicemails on my home phone. None have been listened to. J always gasps in horror when he sees how many voicemails are unlistened to on my cell phone. 90% of them are my sister calling me to say "hey, call me back" and i can't be bothered to listen or delete them. and now it's even worse because the iPhone 7 has visual voicemail and transcribes (badly) the first line or so of the person talking. Genius, enable my voicemail hermit-status even more.

D (almost 12) had his last day of elementary school yesterday. He was a little emotional because two of his friends aren't going to the same middle school he is next year. So this could be the last time he sees them.
One of them is a girl, who I think is a really cool girl. Has her own sense of style, not much of a follower. Super friendly. I had a little secret hope that D might want to date her one day.
So when D got emotional, I got emotional too.
It sounds ridiculous when I type it, but yes I was sad that my kid likely won't date a specific girl some day.

I don't like my kids very much today. Prob cuz I'm stressed having to get everything ready for the 9:30am party in the morning and A flooded the bathroom playing in the sink and R keeps asking me if the cupcakes are ready to put in the storage container (EVERY 5 FING MINUTES) and the house is a wreck and AGH!!
sorry, rant over.

FFFC: I just inadvertently snooped (stopped when I realized) my sister's boyfriend's FB because he was logged into her browser.
FFFC: I wanted to keep snooping.

I hate it when mothers refer to their sons as "stud," especially babies. It's SO gross.

And the creepy "You'd better buy a shotgun your baby girl is so pretty" crap. Can we stop making babies and kids sexy? Or talking about them dating? Pretty sure this is my hill to die on. On a related note, I was perusing Etsy for Daddy/Daughter t shirts and came across multiple versions of a shirt that said "Guns Don't Kill People, Daddies With Pretty Daughters Do."

I need to confess the most "oh shit" Parenting moment I've had so far, which happened on Monday.
I was sitting in the back seat of the car w/DS administering a few meds before we left for DC (nothing contagious) and I was so focused on making sure he took everything he needed that I forgot to strap him in AT ALL. Luckily he alerted me by screaming in a panic as soon as the car started to reverse out of the garage. Thank goodness.

Met with mommy friends for a walk and moved the infant seat onto the stroller. During the walk, DD pooped so I changed her and put her back in the seat, but didn't do the crotch straps (which I realize now how dangerous that was if the stroller had tipped). After the walk I just moved the seat into the car and got almost out of the parking lot before I realized and slammed on the brakes. I also cried most of the way home feeling guilty.

I said I was done with Parenting (or General Discussion as it is known now) threads because A. Drama B. Time suck, but I just popped over there to check it out. I read one thread, which included a story about a snake coming into a vehicle through an air vent.
Now I'm for sure never going back over there and also may never drive a car again.

Everytime I see the TW acronym on the forum, in my head I read it as "twat waffle" instead of trigger warning. It's habit now, and I have NO idea why.
I'm not saying the person posting is a twat waffle, fyi.
