The world sucks. People are disgusting. I honestly need to look for the good bc there are so many disappointing things. I'm trying to just check myself and make sure I'm not being a total a$$ about stuff. Honestly, we all have bias so we just need to pay attention and do better. The speck in your own eye and all that.

This also has some good ideas: www.splcenter.org/20170814/ten-ways-fight-hate-community-response-guide

The governor just shut down two beautiful parks as well which sucks. I am going to work for our senator's campaign for 2018. I did read that article and it's really great. MO is a swing state. Hope it swings back.

I did read that article and it's really great. MO is a swing state. Hope it swings back. Even more important then! (I thought you were in Iowa for some reason...) I am glad I don't live in a swing state because, man, election season would be brutal with all the ads, etc, but it would feel inspiring to be able to make difference. I live in such a super liberal bubble it sometimes feels like doing anything is pointless or like you're preaching to the choir.

M now has a fever to go with her runny nose. Advil and Tylenol are keeping it under control mostly. I had to run to the store to get a thermometer. We had like 3, and I can't find any of them.
And then I had to parallel park my van, which I did on the first try. I'm very impressed with myself. This freaking construction need to be finished. I would like to be able to park in my damn driveway.

Why is it that whenever my H gets dd2 dressed she ends up looking like a hobo baby? I swear she looks more disheveled than she did in her pajamas. And then he gets annoyed if I'm like WHAT IS SHE WEARING?? or if I change her clothes. 🙄
Also @kelltothekell - Inquiring minds want to know... is it pronounced Missour-ee or Missour-uh?

Missouri is usually pronounced EE although you will hear an AH here and there. Usually older folks but some very rural pockets too.

I love Montessori for teaching me kid to go to the potty regularly. She asks all the time when she needs to pee. But I hate them for teaching her to take off her pants and diaper. Cannotkeepspantsonthiskid!

kcrkcs they teach them to take their clothes off??? What? Nope. Nope nope. No. How does she ask? Dd3 has started going about 50% of the time I put her on the pot. My oldest was in undies by 21 months. I'm not sure we will be there, but my goal is by her bday.

Dd likes to take her diaper off so we keep pants on her all the time to discourage. I am putting potty training in the category of : think about it when she is two.

I think we need to change daycare which is overwhelming. I'm just not happy with it. Tell me what you think: dd has been bit several times (5/6?!) and it's not really being addressed, not really structured, I overhear staff in other rooms talking to the kids in a way I don't like, her teacher told me they (have to?) stay on their cots until 3 even if they are awake from nap when they go down around 12:30, and there is a tv in there...:.
Ok yeah tell me this place sucks because I feel like it does.

dizzycooks, 21 months?! That's rockstar level. DS was in them by 27 months (thanks in large part to Montessori). DD is hit and miss on the potty. But she is starting to tell us after she has gone in her diaper so I know she is starting to make the connection. She gets so excited when she goes on the potty and really likes wiping and flushing. @kelltothekell, I would take issue with not addressing the biting, the tv and staying in the cot till 3. WTF?! Lack of too much structure I'm less worried about at this age, IMO. I put A LOT of consideration into the demeanor of the teachers towards the kids. The entire reason I picked DS's montessori school at the time was because the teacher was AMAZING in how she treated all of the toddlers. So that is number ONE for me. So yeah, based on what you've said? I'd be looking to move her.

Also high staff turnover. Thanks for listening to me (reading me?! Ha). I'm making calls to other daycares tomorrow.

I got home late last night after a pretty miserable 3 hour flight home. Got in after 11pm and didn't get to sleep until after 3am!!! DS was getting sick & woke up shortly after I got home so I laid with him because he wasn't feeling good and starting a fever. After he fell back asleep I went back to bed only to be woken by DD at 2am and she wasn't going back to sleep on her own. So I laid on her floor for an hour until she passed back out. DS missed school today and I'm pretty sure he'll miss again tomorrow if this fever doesn't break. Gotta love back to school germs. Ugh!

M let's us know when she needs her diaper changed. We'll probably potty train her the same way we did with S. We put him in pull ups, if he wet them, it was back in a diaper for the day, once he was dry in pull ups consistently, we put him in underwear, same deal, if he wet or messed them it was back in pull ups for the day. It took a month or so, but I didn't have any problem with it. He was staying dry at night long before he was during the day, but I still kept him in diapers or pull ups at night until he was done day training. He was almost 3 when we did it. We'll probably start M sooner, just because she's showing signs sooner than he did.

@kelltothekell - look for another daycare! They go down for nap at 12:30 and have to stay in their cots until 3?? That sounds awful. Plus the tv, plus the general atmosphere and lack of structure.
Trust your gut, mama!

Well... we're stuck in London. After6 hrs of sleep for the kiddos we got to the airport for our 7:30 am flight then Sat for 2.5 hrs as they worked on a "minor mechanical problem" then we all had to deplane. Kids are crying, no one knows what's going on or how or when we'll get to the US. Sigh. And Dh and I both got essentially no sleep.

I'm being an aw I know that. I also realize this is all bloat, but how am I going to keep this quiet 6 more weeks?? @scorpiosciba that sounds like a miserable night. Do you work today? @14joa31 are you surviving your crazy week? crimsonandclover you've arrive in the IS correct? How did it go? Enjoy your time! Do you have big plans? kcrkcs are you traveling this weekend? Switching daycares is so hard. Your reasons are 100% valid. Find something you're happy with. Those problems are not ok.
