Are you upstate NY or western NY? I'm realizing I know nothing about NY except it's home to NYC and the capitol is Albany (and I'm not even 100% on that second part). I'm upstate and western lol. And Albany is the capital but we are no where near the mason Dixon line 😜 Omg that was one of the funniest conversations we ever had. I think the wedding2012 reveal tops it though.

MH has always said never the east coast because sports. I kind of get it because he's a huge sports fan and there's times when a game is still going and it's 10pm our time. But that's a dumb reason, IMO. He will actually learn to love this. Esp when he realizes that it means kids are in bed and he can enjoy it in solitude or with buddies and not have to parent. MH lives for late games when I'm sleeping and he gets to sit his Fatman ass on the couch with a beer and his phone and do nothing but enjoy a game. Ha we are so glad to be back in CST because of sports. It was always a problem, so many games don't end until midnight or later. jubilantsquirrel I would definitely talk with H about it. I think there are lots of great areas to live in this country that fit the bill for you and H may need encouragement but he just might be surprised with how much he could like living elsewhere. I used to say we would never move out of Texas unless college station (and Aggie football) moved with us because of H. Yet here we are living in our second place outside of Texas and both of us are quite content to be here. Now it is not for everyone that is for sure, I know who hate living away from family and are always homesick etc. And clearly it isn't always easy especially the initial move (see me being absolutely isolated with knowing no one here and no family but I know that will change). What is available for his career outside of the Seattle area? What does He do?

I would actually love to leave ATL someday, but can't justify when the kids are young with family here. We have a 15-20 year plan with the new house, so once the kids are in college maybe?
Although lol to making plans and expecting them to work out.

kleigh that is much more affordable than I was imagining!! I mean, Im coming from a city where the average detached home (not duplex or townhouse type home) is just under a million! Maybe Ffld will be on our potential long term list!

I would love to be closer to family right now. I am so jealous of those that are. But it doesn't remotely make sense to go back stateside until we are done having kids.

aggiebug, he's a job coach/developer for people with developmental disabilities. He basically helps them find jobs and then helps them not get fired. He works for a non profit but I know there are several other agencies like his out here, so I'm sure he could find something similar almost anywhere.

But if you move to Michigan, you can use your hand as a map. This is true for WI too!

jubilantsquirrel move in with me. $300k would go a long way in my neck of the woods. We have great schools and we are the beer capital of the world! I mean that right there should make you want to pack your bags. Plus we're CST so it's a good middle place when it comes to sports!

I spent the afternoon trying to come up with enough redeeming qualities that my area has that would convince jubilantsquirrel to move here. The only thing I came up with is a greater desire to GTFO.

And I never ever for a second in my east coast-ness thought about what live TV translated to time wise over on the west coast. Does that mean the 1 o'clock games here start before lunch? Weird.

sophiegrace I meant to ask you, what were the results for M's allergies regarding tree nuts? You know...he didn't say. He specifically mentioned shellfish being ok, but nothing at all about tree nuts. So I'm assuming ok? I'll see the actual lab results on Thursday at her 9 month appointment and then the Allergist is Friday morning.

Sorry I jinxed everyone with leaky boobs. Also I just got home and there is cat pee on the floor againl and my house smells. I am so mad I could cry. That sucks. Could it be a medical issue? I hope not. One of our cats has had issues in the past. We spent way more than we could afford in vet bills to get him healthy again (like 2k) and already feed him the $120 food that is suposed to prevent urinary issues. I don't know how we would manage another issue like that.

Ehhhh I was really into until I saw the slash through the bathroom part in the listing Maybe I'm high maintenance, but running water is a requirement for 200k
