I feel like a 3 day weekend would be nice at first but then it will just be the same after a while and I’ll want another day still.
We now make sure Sunday is a free day as much as possible so we can hang out and get ready for the week at a slower pace. If I had an extra day I would just still schedule myself with parties or whatever and not rest.
I’ll still be ok if it happens though

It'd be much nicer than trying to cram it all into two days.

I mean it doesn’t matter to me because I work 4 days a week anyway, but I know research shows it’s better for people in the long run. Except I’d really appreciate daycare being open 7 days a week 😅.

My church job was a 4-day week. I loved having Fridays at home alone to get chores and errands done. SD was 6-8ish during that time and in Girl Scouts and sports, so it was nice to not have to think about the house on weekends and just do what she needed to. Our weekends are now packed with DS's sports and I feel like I'm always behind on everything.

No I get it and I agree I just know that if everyone is off then parties start being planned etc. most people I talk to say they need another day so they can do more and I’m just like but then you are just still scheduling your day instead of relaxing

We are probably one of the only families in our neighborhood now that don't have chickens. So of course the girls are asking. DH and I are constantly on the fence about it---our family LOVES fresh eggs but we don't want the work either. We do have the property for it though. I think today the girls are going to visit their good friend's chickens that they just got yesterday. I bet your neighbors will have extra eggs you can buy and maybe you and the kids can sign up to be chicken sitters and visit the chickens occasionally and you don't have to do any of the work.

I've seen talk about 4 day school week too and I don't like that.
Unless it would end up being more of a year round school thing with longer breaks. I could be ok with that

Something always has to get cut. For me, usually it's a rest day. Rest days are non-negotiable for my H so we are always arguing over whether the other day should be spent doing something enjoyable or something necessary.

Yes I can only really schedule one thing each weekend, preferably on Sundays, haha. Even then, we need a weekend off every few or he gets annoyed. My h works a really physical job- like yours does! So I get it. But I am bad a relaxing and like to be out doing things. It's truly a hard balance to strike for us- lots of compromise.
