Eva Mendes is like my number one Hollywood girl crush. Her being with Ryan Gosling makes me like him 1000% more because I feel like he must be cool and fun to be with her. I saw an interview with her recently and she had some…not great work done to her face. She’s still insanely gorgeous but she looks different to me.

I’ve never watched a Bond movie. I’ve also never seen a Star Wars movie. Same Add in Star Trek too and only Marvel I’ve seen are the Black Panther movies

I think Theo James should be the next bond and that is entirely because I have a crush on Theo James. And I think my bf does too. Lol Have you watched The Gentlemen yet?

Since we were discussing planes in the other thread, I will only take direct flights if I’m flying with my kids. My anxiety can’t deal with missing connecting flights with kids.

As an Austenite, I’m contractually obligated to remain miffed at Theo James for bailing on “Sanditon.” MH has been watching “The Gentlemen.” Guy Ritchie isn’t my cup of tea but Theo does look fine.

I’m a Gerard Butler girl myself, but Theo James has been blessed with some great looks 👀 *adds The Gentlemen to my watch list*

That’s understandable. I feel the same way, but connections are nearly unavoidable plus we fly standby. Makes it an adventure and we get to log some airport appreciation time if we don’t make a flight.

We did this a couple summers ago (Detroit to Salt Lake City, paid extra for direct option) and on the return, Delta canceled our direct flight and rerouted us the next day… through Orlando. Exactly what we had in mind, thanks, Delta. 🤦♀️

Theo James played one of the best guest roles on Downton Abbey as well. His send-off was when I knew I’d love that show.

He generally isn't mine either, especially now that I'm older and my tolerance for violence has lessened, but I enjoyed this series. And all of the graphic violence is implied/happens out of shot, so it isn't too bad in that respect (to me).

Confession - I had to Google Theo James. That full name is something. I've read those books but never seen the movies.

This morning, I walked into my office building and went to turn on the lights, and ended up misjudging where the light switch is and hitting my hand on the wall. I've only worked here for over 15 years.

The fewer avoidable transitions we have during travel the better, in my experience. I only choose to connect when we absolutely must or the price difference is significant.

I don’t know if this is a confession, but I am very happy that the zeitgeist has shifted to season of primarily Beyoncé discourse and can maybe give the Taytay discussions a rest. There was absolutely nothing new left to discuss vis a vis her, her music, TK, way before that thread played out. And I say this as someone who doesn’t mind her!

Oooh, I have one! I actually enjoyed reading that piece from the Cut yesterday about the young woman marrying a man ten years her senior because she didn’t want to deal with bullshit from men her own age. Part of my enjoyment was “oh honey, you are twenty seven and so naive still and please update us in ten years when you are aging out of youthful hotness” and part was “huh, you do make some good points despite your age and I am amused by your mildly insouciant confidence”. Some of the surrounding tweets were pretty great, too. For reference: www.thecut.com/article/age-gap-relationships-marriage-younger-women-older-man.html

I chuckled because I just had a convo with a friend who is divorcing a man child Gen Xer and she said she will be looking for a Millennial because she’s read that home and child work is more evenly split between genders in that generation.

She’s a compelling writer, I’ll give her that but it always strikes me as funny when twenty something’s speak with such authority on how the world works.

“Very soon, we will decide to have children, and I don’t panic over last gasps of fun, because I took so many big breaths of it early: on the holidays of someone who had worked a decade longer than I had, in beautiful places when I was young and beautiful, a symmetry I recommend. If such a thing as maternal energy exists, mine was never depleted.”
lmao Good luck with that 😂

You can smell the generational wealth and conservative values thru the screen.

I don't think that Cut article is written particularly well, personally. I think because I’m more of a technical writer I find people who can do flower without making me barf compelling. Her personality and argument is making me barf but I don’t mind her style. But it’s largely probably because I don’t have that skill set.
