DD2 has a negative food balance at the school. The problem being, the school has told us they cannot guarantee no cross contamination for her allergens, so she has literally NEVER had the school food. I got on today to add to DD1's account, because she does eat at school. Called the school, but the person who deals with that is out today. Argh. I kept getting notifications about a negative balance, but in MN school lunches are free. I also work in a school but don’t even know my account number to buy school lunch. And that’s where the problem was, a someone had used the wrong number and it was billing MY account 😂. I was like I didn’t even know I had an account! They got it straightened out quickly. This happened with my DS1 last year

My 9yo was very deflated after school. He proceeded to tell me he will probably have nightmares forever. The reason? He found out that their science lessons will be covering human body and there will be illustrations of the human body underneath our skin. Parenting is a wild ride.

I was trying to explain to DS1 about CTE and why we will never let him play tackle football and I was explaining the brain changes and I asked if he wanted to see a picture and he said yes so I showed him a bunch and he was like mommy can we stop? I think I’m going to be sick. So I think I traumatized him by showing him cut up brains. Oops. Gold star parenting right there 😬🤦🏻♀️

So last week was World Thinking Day, but we had our GS meeting today. One of the ideas for this year is to discuss the Gender Wage Gap. Which is hard to do well for an age group that goes from K to 6th grade. But anyways, I hope I did it justice. Then I had the girls think of actionable steps to address it, and one of them came up with contacting government officials on their own (so proud!). So then I was trying to tell them who our Congress members are, and I stuttered over trying to think of something not terrible to say about Mary Miller. I was not successful

Our school district passed their referendum yesterday! I am shocked that it passed but so happy. There were 2 other local districts that passed in February as well. Hopefully the trend continues for one other district. I have a lot of friends that work in that one.
