I think the 213 is a mistake. C-span had 211 up for a long time in the last vote. Just wait for the final tallies.

I really hope Jeffries can hold his caucus together. I could see a Jared Golden working out a deal with McCarthy. Ugh. Please don't, bro

Third ballot coming any minute. The renegades are vowing to vote for Gym again. Let's see what they do now!

This is very interesting. Remember when Paul Ryan turned off the Cspan cameras during the gun violence sit I'm and GOP furiously yelled at everyone that Cspan controls the cameras, not the Speaker?

Question: a few missed their initial vote call and they recalled them at the end. I thought they had to be present when initially called, but that must not be true. How long do they have after the roll call (?) vote to get their vote in?

CSPAN covered this, but thought it was worth sharing for those not watching. “There have been 14 instances of Speaker elections requiring multiple ballots (the records for the 2nd Congress, 1791–1793, are inconclusive, and the House has filled vacancies in the Speakership three times using a resolution). Thirteen of 14 multiple-ballot elections occurred before the Civil War, when party divisions were more nebulous. The last time a Speaker election required two or more votes on the floor happened in 1923.” history.house.gov/People/Office/Speakers-Multiple-Ballots/

How long do they have after the roll call (?) vote to get their vote in? No they just have to come in and vote before the vote is closed
