byjove, I am and will continue to for now. I don't know if it was regional or not, but I read an article that the flu was outpacing COVID. Between that, RSV, and COVID, I just don't want to take any chances. I don't want any of them. I know masks are far from 100% when few people are wearing them, but if I can at least reduce my exposure or viral load then it's worth it to me. I know I work in a school and have a ton of germy exposure to kids, but even when I'm just in meetings with adults, I keep in on. I've been around several sick adults this year, who were like yeah it's just a cold (and I believe certain ones were COVID negative) but of course no one will wear a freaking mask because we haven't learned anything 🤬. Hell, just last week I watched one coughing teacher taking a COVID test in the middle of a crowded staff meeting (and didn't even do it correctly because it was a Binax and it was wide open instead of glued shut with the adhesive strip). She tested positive at some point and came back to school maskless on Monday, which was not 10 days from her positive. So I continue to trust no one and try to control what little I can 🤷♀️.

I am not wearing one. With our student population, the children were constantly trying to touch it or I was pulling it down for speech purposes so I gave up. We did have a case of flu and RSV last week but haven't heard of any Covid cases recently.
My sister has been feeling crappy since Tuesday afternoon. This morning was her doc appointment and she tested positive for RSV. Not sure if it is starting with her or if my nephew had mild symptoms and brought it from school. He had a low fever last Friday and coughed some, but he always has a cough. They have an appointment to allergy testing

How do you guys handle masking at work? I'm coming in more, and the ONLY one wearing a mask, which is fine, but if I'm only with one other person, is the masking worth it? Like what is the threshold? If I was at a friend's house, I wouldn't wear one, for instance. A large group- absolutely. There are 20ish people in the space, but I share an office with one other person. I work in a library in a lower vax area and I am basically the only person continuing to mask, but it makes me feel better because people are gross so my plan is to keep on keeping on at least through the winter. *shruggy emoji*

I'm masking at work (grocery store) because I like wearing it. I usually mask when I go grocery shopping, get a haircut, or know I'll be in a store/place for awhile. To any dentist or doctor appointments. I don't when going to restaurants since I'm going to be eating and drinking. Generally we do takeout or doordash though. Once a week DS and I will eat at a restaurant with my parents but it's usually the DQ or Chili's by their house and there's not many people there.

If I go in to the office I mask. Idk these people well enough to trust that my exposure is low around them, you know? With the few friends I see in person I know they’re as careful as me and don’t worry about masking.

My dad and grandma both have covid. We all attended a school event for my DD1 last week so I'm thinking they likely got it from there so I feel so guilty 😔 My mom had it just over a month ago so I'm hoping she doesn't get it again. They both are doing okay so far, not feeling good but pretty mild symptoms. They are both high risk so I'm nervous.

I dislocated my shoulder again a couple weeks ago and so I’ve been spending a lot of time at my shoulder specialists office because I need surgery (whomp whomp) and apparently the whole orthopedic offices have switched to masks no longer being required. I was a little startled when I walked in and I was the only one in a mask lol

Big take away is protection from mom via vaccine before birth does seem to make a difference The study referenced in this article is the one that made me decide to get a second booster in August, when I was in my 3rd tri. When I went to get my bivalent booster last week they gave me nonsense about having that 4th shot on my card even though I’m not immunocompromised and insisted on calling the dr to make sure it was ok for me to get another booster 🙄 Seeing that hospitalizations are rising in infants makes me really glad I did that.

Covid just ripped through my work and I definitely had my most significant exposure to date. A member of our small leadership team tested positive on Tuesday and I spent a significant amount of time in meetings with him on Monday.
I did get my bivalent booster two weeks ago so I’m giving that a work out!
I haven’t had it yet but this is the closest exposure since H got it (but tested positive across the country on a trip).
So far, no symptoms but I’m just waiting for my first sniffle on pins and needles.

I’m so tired and hoping I never see that NICU again 😅

We ate indoors with the kids for the first time yesterday. We also took the train and bus and went to the science museum, which was a lot for us, but I'm having a hard time avoiding such things going on for so long. I hope we can make it through the holidays without any COVID scares/isolation/quarantines but that may be asking for too much.

My husband is getting his second Evusheld shot today. If you know anyone that has gotten one in the past, I would see if they can get another shot. My husband got his first one 7 months ago. It's authorized to be given every 6 months.

His CMV and EBV results haven't come back yet but I'm hopeful they will be negative. He's going to meet with his transplant doctor this week just to be sure they won't want him checked for anything else. Thank goodness I don't have to give the kids baths anymore!

richard I wasn't aware that was happening. I'll ask about it over on support. When I go into the little blue man button or into the members list, when I start to type in a name, nothing comes up. Like I can see a full long list of members in the members list, but I can't search it - if that makes sense.
