And I know it's petty to focus on one person, but I hope Musk chokes on that headline after all his crap about Texas and California.

I'm coming back to this. It could have been so much worse. And that makes me feel icky because people died. Parents are mourning their children.

The response time of the police definitely saved lives there.

If we can't regulate guns Then regulate ammo, tax the shit out of it. Make it so manufacturers can only sell 12 bullets in a pkg in a month. Rural areas with hunting license you can sign and get more. Limit it like Sudafed.

Rural areas with hunting license you can sign and get more. Limit it like Sudafed. There’s an old Chris Rock bit about this - make each bullet $5,000. It’s funny but also…not a bad idea. CA has been chipping away at this for awhile but it can’t regulate our neighbor states so it’s not as effective.

Ugh, I'm sorry fatpony and willow. It sounds like my kids didn't really notice within their classrooms but DH's high schoolers all had their phones going off and were rattled.

Just heresay atm, but I've been seeing reports of this issue from other unconnected Texas voters. Everyone out there, regardless of state, should probably check and double check their votes just to be sure. The stakes are high for everyone.

I'm going Thursday and I'm triple checking that thing before I put it in the machine!

They think they are going to stop the 2000 mules people. The ones who don't exist. Doesn't help its open carry in az.

Real fucking grim. I’m having a hard time not spontaneously combusting every time a Republican candidate opens their mouth these days. It’s worse knowing they stand a real chance of being elected.

Got my Beto vote in this morning. I didn’t double check everything, but definitely saw his name and smiled at the printout so I’m good.

I wish I could have been at this today.
I am nervous about this election cycle and this at least gives me some hope.

Popping in to share a collaboration with sistersong called the for every body campaign. 100% of the profits from various beauty brands go towards reproductive rights (they are based out of atlanta and focused on places affected by RvW reversal and woc). http://instagram.com/p/CkJHGqrOu5x It’s the largest beauty industry backed reproductive rights initiative to date, over 35 brands are included. One of my family member’s brands is included and I’m very proud!

'While Republicans insist they will be better stewards of the economy, few economists on either end of the ideological spectrum expect the party’s proposals to meaningfully reduce inflation in the short term. Instead, many say some of what Republicans are proposing — including tax cuts for high earners and businesses — could actually make price pressures worse by pumping more money into the economy. “It is unlikely that any of the policies proposed by Republicans would meaningfully reduce inflation in 2023, when rapidly rising prices will still be a major problem for the economy and for consumers,” said Michael R. Strain, an economist at the conservative American Enterprise Institute.' Republicans Denounce Inflation, but Few Economists Expect Their Plans to Help nyti.ms/3gIuVSB

This is almost uncharacteristically critical of the Rs for the NYT these days.

Was the Fetterman debate as bad as the NYT made it seem? I didn’t watch and can’t bring myself to pull up any videos right now.
