DS4 will be so excited* to get shots with his brothers on his birthday (5 in Nov). *He will not be excited, but it would be nice to get them boosted before basketball season starts.

That's awesome! I hope they're authorized for under 5s soon too! Same, though DS just finished his primary series about 3 weeks ago, so we have to wait regardless.

I just told the kids they were done with shots after they got flu shots last week. DD1 is gonna be big mad. DD2 will have to wait until November, both to turn 5 and to be two months out from her initial series.

So if my kids have their primary series and just got their booster end of August, they wait two months from that date to get the Omicron booster, right?

I've already prepped the girls for their next shot. They weren't happy.

Get your flu shot - there's a suspected outbreak at a school with 1/2 of the student population out

DS got his flu shot yesterday. He is going to be so mad that he needs to get another vax so soon! But I’m relieved that they’ll both be boosted going into the holiday season.

Ugh feeling that gut punch several of you have when you get COVID right before a booster is available ☹️ (for DD and H). So DD and H haven't gotten there's yet. The guidance is to wait 60 days post COVID to get it right?
Also, H tested this morning and had a faint positive so 🤞 it's negative tomorrow. He's being a trooper about the mask but is so over it. I'm also ready to move out of the guest room.
Also, we have got to get our flu shots ASAP. I tried several times to make an appt at the pedi on Monday and could not get through 😬. On my to do list for tomorrow.

This is interesting, and compelling data for that 3rd shot, and 4th if you are older.

I need to get the boys their flu shots/ DS1 boosted and DS2 his original series (we had waited until we had cleared his GI issues up post Covid and didn’t want to introduce something new to him while we were sorting that out). I’m sure they will be thrilled with me.
And I hate the news on the flu, I have so much ptsd around getting the flu with a 6 week old. But since I can’t get a flu shot I’ll just make sure those around me (looking at you H) get it and mask up in public.

Lots of places around us don't have flu shots in stock, but we all managed to get one yesterday
I'm trying to figure out the new booster for DD, I know the CDC says you can get them at the same time, but what about like a week or 2 apart? Nowhere has them yet, but I don't want to wait a whole month if we don't have to

Nowhere has them yet, but I don't want to wait a whole month if we don't have to I asked our pediatrician this question, and she said, if you don’t get them at the same time, you do NOT need to space them any particular number of days apart. I’m hoping to get our flu shots this weekend and our bivalent boosters in a week or so.

I scheduled DD3 for a booster + flu shot at CVS tomorrow. We are going slightly further away than normal, but at least some CVS stores have the kids’ dose in stock.

I haven’t gotten dS1 his flu shot yet and I offered him the option of flu and covid shots at the same time or separate. He wants them separate but is so upset at the idea of more shots. Sorry buddy.
I asked if he’d consider wearing a mask again now that Ori is here and he said he really doesn’t want to. I’m not going to force him but I am anxious about every cough or sneeze or sniffle I head out of him.

DD asked if she could start wearing a mask to school again because so many kids are getting sick 😫 I told her of course, whatever she's comfortable with, but inside I'm cursing all the people that won't get vaxxed or wear masks around here. Ugh

Ugh I’ve noticed an uptick of masking at my kids’ school in the last few weeks while volunteering. We were all notified of an official outbreak in a 5th grade class, which I think spurred it on. Mine have continued wearing their masks this year. We’ve had so many talks about “different families, different choices,” but overall, they both have decided they want to avoid getting sick if they can, so they go along with it. It helps that our school has a very supportive, kind community and they haven’t experienced peer pressure not to wear them beyond being in the minority.

My smell and taste didn't go away, but some things taste weird now. For example, I used go love milk and I think I've had it twice in the last month. It just don't sound good. There are quite a few things like that, like most "sweets". This has been me since having the flu a couple weeks ago. Ketchup just tastes like straight vinegar and coffee isn't right since then. Hopefully this is shortlived.

Some insurances are only offering reimbursements, but I figure it's worth looking into. This winter is going to be rough all around.

I'm getting my booster and flu shot today, just under 90 days out from COVID. I've been pretty sick with each shot so hopefully my kids don't ruin my plans of doing nothing tomorrow.

Some insurances are only offering reimbursements, but I figure it's worth looking into. This winter is going to be rough all around. We're supposed to only get reimbursed, but I've been able to successfully order 8 tests each month from CVS (they're 1/box here) Unfortunately there are 5 of us, so we should be entitled to 40 tests, but because we all have the same member number it only works once, and I haven't tried to actual reimbursement process because it's a PITA (mail in the barcodes and forms individually for everyone) but I'm sure it was to discourage people from doing it
